About this property
Pictured Rocks Fall Basecamp | Firepit, Sleeps 10
Summary:
A cedar cabin minutes from Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Lake Superior beaches, and Grand Marais harbor. Fall is the season locals wait for: the Log Slide and Grand Sable Dunes look out over color running to the water, the waterfalls stay strong, and dark skies mean aurora nights from the yard. Crackling fireplace, oversized deck, and a firepit made for staying out. 4 bedrooms, sleeps 10, all set up for families. Swing set, Pack 'n Play, and a private lot.
The Space:
A cedar cabin minutes from Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, the Lake Superior beaches, and Grand Marais harbor. 4 bedrooms, sleeps 10, with a crackling fireplace, an oversized deck, and a firepit made for staying out under the stars.
Fall in Grand Marais is what the locals wait all year for. Peak color in the eastern UP runs roughly October 5 through 20, and the view from the Log Slide over the Grand Sable Dunes, with hardwood color running all the way down to Lake Superior, is one of the great overlooks in the Midwest. Sable Falls is a five-minute walk from the parking lot and framed in gold. Miners Falls and Chapel Falls are an easy day out. The Pictured Rocks cliffs from the water in October, with color on top of sandstone, are worth planning the trip around.
Then November brings the gales. Watching a Lake Superior storm come across the big water is its own kind of vacation, and this cabin is a good place to do it from. On the clear nights in between, the dark skies here are as good as it gets in the Lower 48 for aurora.
4 bedrooms, sleeps 10. Built for families and groups who want the real UP.
