Stayed for 5 nights. The host was great and directions to the property were excellent. The overall experience was good. The bed was comfortable. The shower was missing a shower curtain and the lounge chairs around the pool should be replaced immediately. The pool was clean but the tile is very slippery getting in and out. Overall the property seems to be a work in progress and is quite an interesting place.
We loved the entire stay at Turtleback Pavillion, especially the private pool right outside our door. Great location, with a fantastic Prickly Bay Marina Restaurant and Bar a 5 minute drive away.

Warm Regards,

This was the best trip to the Caribbean we have had. Beautiful villa, great staff, and Anthon and Sharon are the best hosts. I can't wait to go back. Loved it.
This place was so cool! If you want a cool experience this is it! Quiet location- great restaurants in walking distance- book Bradley’s taxi and he will take you anywhere you want to go. The owners are so lovely and helpful - so highly recommended by us!
Wonderfully kind hosts. Cute little spot with an island feel. Super close to lots to do in St. George. If you like to keep it simple and can live without all the Fancy Resort Amenities, this is the spot for you. Only compliant would be the bathroom...drain was clogged in shower and the shower leaked pretty bad into the bathroom from two spots. We forgot to mention it, but hope they read this. :)

Hi Brian:
Thank you so much for taking the time to write about your experience at Turtleback Pavilion. We're delighted that you enjoyed your stay. The shower issues were identified and repaired. We thoroughly enjoyed hosting you and will love to welcome you back! Thanks again!
I can't say enough about this place or about Sharon! Was it the picture perfect vacation? No. But it was the best time! But we are flexible and Sharon is very gracious and accommodating!! The villa is perfect with a swimming pool right outside your room. Bed was comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed. Didn't need converters for our phones since the unit offered both types. The island is gorgeous with beautiful waterfalls. Everyone we encountered on the island was friendly. It unfortunately rained hard a few days we were there which caused damage to the local dams, which in turn caused them to shut off the water supply. We live out in the country and have well water so we were prepared! We were putting pots out to catch the rain but Sharon brought us some water in jugs to use. She was very apologetic for a situation that was not her fault! She stayed in communication with us to make sure we had anything we needed. After a few days we got water usage back. I said "Well at least we still had electricity!" And then the last night the power went off for about an hour. By that point we were laughing at the stories we could tell when we got home! And I would go back and stay again in a heartbeat!
And Sharon, if you're reading this, it snowed for me when we got home!
Our experience was very average. Let’s start with the positives. Great location close to Prickly Bay, restaurants and an easy drive to Grand Anse beach. Our view was exceptional, overlooking the ocean. However, our stay was not such a good experience. The whole thing started with the owners double booking the place we originally booked. The owner didn’t answer our emails/inquiries until the day before. They gave us an “Upgrade” but it seems to us that this place hadn’t been in use for quiet some time. The washroom door nearest to the pool wasn’t functional, couldn’t be opened. We had 1 door to the outside that didn’t lock. No AC unit on the main floor (32 degree weather), missing dish rag, hand towels, paper towels and no bottle opener. Note: it had a very limited glass wear. Several outdoor lights were not working. Making the steps in and out a hazard, plus we couldn’t enjoy the roof top patio area at night, as we had no lights. Our toilet in the master bedroom wasn’t working mid-way through our stay. The shower drain was clogged, and the AC unit in the bedroom either worked full blast and you froze, or it wasn’t working at all. The chair cushions we all ripped and cigarette butts from the previous renters could still be found in the flower pots around the pool area. All and all, we didn’t get the quality in which we paid for.

We would like to thank Karen for providing feedback from her stay. We are very sorry to hear that she was unhappy with her experience at our property. We take all complaints seriously and have procedures and standards in place to ensure the comfort and safety of all our guests. In fact, many of the minor issues outlined in Karen's review of our main villa have already been addressed as we are in a constant state of maintenance and improvement. Also, in addition to those units already installed in the bedrooms we are currently in the process of installing air conditioning in the living area to further enhance our guests comfort.
In Karen's case, there was a double booking made by one of our Online Travel Agents that, unfortunately, we did not catch until the morning of Karen's arrival. We upgraded Karen and her husband from one bedroom Turtleback Pavilion to our flagship three bedroom, four bath villa (Tradewind Pavilion) at no extra charge. During their stay, we received no complaints from Karen or her husband although we were in constant communication via Whatsapp. In fact, we received a message from them saying that they were having a "great time".. We were unaware of any issues until the day after they had departed when we received an email detailing their complaints and demanding a refund or they would write a bad review.
Tradewind Pavilion is a wonderful villa and has been enjoyed by thousands of guests since 2006. However, we take these comments in a positive manner and will re-double our improvement efforts.
This was an amazing property for our first ever visit to Grenada! Absolutely beautiful grounds and architecture. Easy communication with Sharon, and the other staff we met were super nice as well. The villa is perfect for a couple who is spending most the vacation outside. Loved the pool (hard to find small places with a private pool in our price range), and the rooftop deck is super cool - views are just incredible.
I wasn't sure what to expect with the neighborhood beach and had hoped it would be a bit nicer. Although it had beautiful views, it wasn't great for hanging out when we were there - lots of debris and not swimmable. It might be better other times of the year. But it doesn't matter that much because the location of this property is so perfect - you're mere minutes away from Lance aux Epines beach, and it's an easy drive to Morne Rouge and Grand Anse too. I was worried it might be too far and we'd feel like we were in the car driving to beaches all the time, but it wasn't at all. We rented a car to get around and I would recommend that, as long as you can handle the driving. We got the hang of it in a couple days (and come from US, so opposite side driving for us).
We had only good food while here! Our two favorites were just down the road and while we drove, you could even walk from this property if the hills are not too much for you: We ate at Spice Affair twice (once had it delivered, once dined in) - it was the best Indian food I've ever had, and we ate and drank several times at the West Indies Beer Company.
I took one star off on the cleanliness scale because a lot of the silverware in the villa had crusty bits of old food on it; I usually wash all vacation rental dishes myself before using anyway because you just never know, but I would recommend the hosts add a check of the dishes to their normal turnover cleaning. Everything else we used in the kitchen (not much - just the coffee maker, toaster, and fridge) worked and was clean.
Also note there was no mosquito net. We had brought our own just in case because so many reviews had mentioned the mosquitos, and there was a handy hook above the bed to hang it from, so not a big deal for us; the hosts may have even had one available had we asked. If you are worried about that, I'd ask them ahead of time. They're pretty cheap and easy to pack if you need to bring one.
All in all a great vacation and we would love to come back to Turtleback Pavilion!
We came for my husband’s birthday. This was our first trip
to Grenada, and we will definitely be back. The property was as described. The en suite bathroom and kitchen were perfect for our needs. We loved the rooftop pool and the grounds of the property were beautiful. Sharon was incredibly helpful, arranging groceries prior to our arrival. The bed was very comfortable. The location is great for exploring all the island has to offer, just a 10 min drive from the international airport. We rented a car, but taxi or bus is also an option
for getting around. Try the Spice Affair Indian restaurant down the hill—it was excellent!
Great place, I would stay again. Perfect for a couple. Cool features like a roof deck.
Some improvements would make it 5 star: a little more maintenance on the doors and furnishings. Some staff might come through the pool entrance, so it is not 100% private, but close.
Expect only salt and pepper in the kitchen, no other spices.
I recommend a rental for sure!

Tropical hideaway for two
We had a great 18 days at Turtleback Pavilion. The setting is wonderful. It is not a luxury property. The kitchen and bathroom are a bit tired but they are clean and everything works. Sharon and Anthon are lovely and are quick to sort out anything that doesn't. What you are paying for is the joy of having a studio with your own private terrace and pool. Something it is difficult to find for just two people. There are other properties very close by but you always feel you have privacy.
The Pavilion is in a residential area. It is possible walk to some places to eat/drink in 15 to 25 mins (Secret Harbour Marina in one direction, Prickly Bay, Calabash, Spice Affair, Sand Bar etc in the other). But it is hilly and steep in places and can be hard work on the way home after filling up on food and rum punch! You can also walk to a bus route (which we didn't realise before we went) but for touring the island you really need a hire car. There is no TV, washing machine or telephone in this unit. The description relates to other properties on the site. This was no problem to us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
