Relaxing cozy cabin on beautiful Pere Marquette River

Lovely cabin property located between Ludington and Baldwin on the Big South branch of the Pere Marquette river. Come for the great fishing and place to stay while hunting your property, quiet relaxation, kayaking or tubing down the river, or hiking in nearby Manistee National Forest trails. The home has gorgeous views of the river during all seasons, and is conveniently located approximately 30 min from Ludington, 1hr from coastal Muskegon, 1.5hr from Grand Rapids, and 1.75hr from Traverse City. Popular destinations all within an hour's drive: Pentwater, Hart, and Silver Lake Sand Dunes. Rockers on the porch are a great spot for relaxing or having a cocktail while viewing the outdoors and river, or sit at the fire pit in the evening and roast marshmallows. Lots of wildlife including eagles, deer, blue herons, salmon, and many wild birds to enjoy. Also a great spot for hunters and fishermen looking for comfortable, modern lodging while enjoying the great outdoors. Conveniently located 1-2 miles from a local store, bar, and restaurant.

Pics Don’t Do it Justice

If you are looking for a beautiful scenic place this is it. Forrests country and quiet. Host was great kept us informed got final info prior to arrival. Cabin was tastefully decorated and steps away from the stream. For items you may need or forget Wal Mart and stores are somewhat of a short drive. Host has the items you need as to towels utensils etc. but we brought our own. Safe location also. Deer outside cabin and squirrels. Never saw so many black squirrels before. So if your looking for a great place to go and if the fish timing is good I recommend it.

Wonderful Fall Retreat

My husband and I, along with our two sons (5 & 2) and husband’s parents enjoyed a long weekend at the cabin. It has everything you need in the kitchen, and was well stocked all around. The set up is quite nice and the bedrooms are spread out. Everyone said the beds were comfortable. The view of the river is even better than the pictures show. We enjoyed fishing on the riverbank, and my son caught his first fish! We also used the campfire and saw lots of wildlife including deer, turkey, and lots of salmon swimming upstream. The leaves were changing as well which was an additional treat. We would love to come back again.

Return to a special place

Our second year at the cabin and it was so relaxing. The salmon started running upriver during our stay - fun to watch and a neat fishing challenge. Dave's a great host. Thanks again for having us!

I was involved in the marking, janitorial and packaging business for over 36 years and sold my packaging businesses in 2018. My wife, Sue, and I live up here adjacent to this property to the north. We love the outdoors, traveling and our family and grandkids.

Why they chose this property

We chose to purchase this property to keep it in the family. My dad and his brother built the original cabin in the early 1960's. It has been added onto 2 different times since then. We love this area because it is quiet and peaceful with no traffic or city noise. We enjoy the ever-changing views of the river and woodlands.

What makes this property unique

Enjoying the views of the river, which you can not do with new construction any longer because this section of the Big South Branch of the Pere Marquette River is designated as a National Blue Ribbon Trout Stream and Natural River. Open fishing all year.
