I can't say enough about this property. It was stocked with everything we needed and more. We felt right at home and really enjoyed our weekend. The cabin was super pet friendly and grace really enjoyed her time in the backyard. I wish we could have stayed longer.

All the comforts of home

We had a lovely stay. The home was very clean and comfortable and we appreciated all the amenities. The porch was nice and relaxing and the dogs enjoyed feeding the deer (and squirrels).

Home away from Home (only better!)

Who knew we would be walking into a fully stocked home? We could have forgotten every item but our own personal clothes, and we would have been good to go for an incredible vacation. Chet's Place is just the place to go for a getaway filled with outdoor amenities, wineries, orchards, and downtown restaurants. We could have stayed at Chet's Place and not left the property for the four days, and we would have been thrilled. The only thing we didn't get to experience is the sound of gentle rain on the metal rooftop. We will be coming back with family to help share this experience with others!

Wonderful Cabin & Great Kitchen

Just book it if you have dogs, love to cook, and want to feel away from everything. The location was serene, tucked away in the Coosawattee surrounded by trees, with so many deer every day. The cabin even has deer corn to feed them, and we made sure to replenish it so the next guests can enjoy the deer as much as we did. The kitchen was outstanding. It had everything you could think of and was easily the best-stocked kitchen of any place we have stayed. Crockpot, Dutch oven, muffin tins, baking sheets and so much more. There was also a great supply of coffee pods, ground coffee, teas, spices and baking supplies. We do a lot of cooking and baking, so we were thrilled to be able to bake fresh bread, cookies and biscuits while we were there. Another great surprise was the generous stock of storage baggies, foil, parchment paper and plastic wrap. Those are the little things you don't think about until you need them! The mudroom was another pleasant surprise, stocked with laundry supplies, deer feed, and an entire dog cabinet with treats, shampoos and toys. If your dogs like to cuddle on the furniture like ours do, make sure to use the dog blankets in the basket by the couch to line the furniture. The outside areas were wonderful. We used the grill multiple times, there were even more dog toys outside, and a raised dog bowl for water. The fenced yard for the dogs was awesome. We could back the truck right up to the gate and let the dogs out of the truck directly into the yard, which made unloading them so easy. The bedrooms and bathrooms were comfortable and, again, very well stocked. The bathrooms had shampoo, conditioner, body wash, disposable toothbrushes and even makeup washcloths, which I always love seeing at a rental. They really thought of all the little things you might need during your stay. We loved Chet's Place and would absolutely recommend it. Location Tips: Get an Ingles grocery card and shop there for groceries. There is one right in Ellijay, and you earn money off per gallon at their gas stations in places like Blue Ridge and Jasper. We ended up getting gas for $3.10 a gallon. We preferred using the Legion Gate exit simply because it drops you closest to town and the grocery store. Also check out the dog park and swimming pool near that gate. We didn't know about Fort Mountain State Park before our visit, but definitely put it on your list. There are several hikes, including two with amazing overlooks and another around the lake. Our dogs loved it just as much as we did.

Perfect spot to get away and just chill

The property was lovely and the house was very comfortable. Despite the summer months, the hot tub was a huge plus. The kitchen was well equipped and easy to step into and prepare meals. The fenced in yard was a huge plus for the puppies. it is accessible off the back porch, which is accessible from the main living area as well as from each of the bedrooms. Bring a good book. Put your feet up, relax and enjoy.
