Welcome to Foxfell At Shasta Lake.
This enchanting mountain getaway by Shasta Lake is located on almost 4 private acres in one of the lake's most coveted areas and bordered on 3 sides by national forest. Enjoy all the beauty and serenity of a remote getaway while still conveniently located just a few short minutes from all the lake's best attractions; Shasta Caverns, Holiday Harbor, and more. Stunning 360 nature views and a thoughtfully designed interior make this a can’t-miss stay for both romantic getaways and family vacations.
ACCOMODATION:
We can and are happy to accommodate up to 12 guests (9 adults,) but we think the space is most comfortable for a group of 8 or less.
LOCATION:
The house is ideally located less than 1,000 ft from the waters of Shasta Lake with quick and easy access to the I-5 and paved road all the way up to the driveway. From the front door, you will be only 3-7 minutes from; the I-5, Holiday Harbor, Shasta Caverns, and the public water access/boat launch!
PARKING:
We have plenty of private parking, with enough room for your boat or other toys.
CONNECTIVITY:
Cellular coverage and internet options can both be limited around the lake, but fear not when staying here. We are able to provide unlimited WiFi and a cell-phone signal booster to help you stay connected during your stay.
PRIVACY:
Once here, you are surrounded by trees and mountains. The property is inhabited by playful squirrels and many colorful species of birds and visited frequently by hungry deer. Otherwise though, you can enjoy your stay in relative solitude.
Should you need them, however, the friendly couple who co-hosts for us lives just up the road and can respond in a flash.
INTERIOR DESIGN:
Inside, the house takes advantage of all this glorious nature by featuring generous window space that provides a scenic view in every single room. (Even the closet for the primary bedroom has a picture window looking out to nature.)
The unique floor plan is open and spacious while simultaneously providing plenty of smaller cozy moments for your group to spread out to after a fun-filled day at the lake. The rooms are eclectically designed, heavily inspired by European country and mid-century modern aesthetics, providing a welcoming yet stimulating atmosphere with a touch of whimsy and wonder.
LIVING ROOM:
The living room features a wood-burning stove nestled into an impressive floor-to-ceiling stone alcove, and a 50-inch flat screen smart TV. But, you'll first have to peel your eyes away from the giant 2-story window and its absolutely dazzling scenic view!
KITCHEN:
The kitchen is equipped with all the major modern kitchen appliances and cooking supplies, as well as place settings for your whole party. It does feature a fridge, ice/water dispenser, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, blenders, and it even boasts an additional beverage fridge for your cold drinks. Through the pass-through window, you will find a small prep kitchen with a second sink and additional prep space for your favorite kitchen helper to lend a hand without being in the way.
DINING & COFFEE:
In the adjoined dining areas, you'll find a fully stocked coffee station and 3 separate dining tables, (with 14 seats total, including the kitchen island stools.) You'll also find a large comfy window bench from which to admire the giant oak just outside and the gorgeous mountain range in the distance.
BEDROOM 1: THE LOFT SUITE
*sleeps up to 3*
Upstairs, you'll find the primary bedroom, the Loft Suite. It boasts a luxurious California King bed, high vaulted ceiling, and another 50-inch flat screen smart TV. It also features an adjoining sitting room with a twin-size day bed and vintage writing desk for working vacationers in need of a work station. From there, go out onto the private wrap-around balcony deck for some fresh air or make your way to...
UPSTAIRS BATHROOM
The spa-like upstairs bathroom features a luxurious oversized double-headed shower, toilet with bidet, and double vanity.
BEDROOM 2: THE EXPEDITION ROOM
*sleeps up to 7 (3 adults)*
Back downstairs, the Expedition Room is a child's dream come true, (and also for the young-at-heart!) This double-sized bunk room was inspired by vintage summer camps and scout expeditions. Elaborately designed to mimic a large camping tent in the woods, the room features; a full-size bed, full-over-full bunk beds, and a double hammock. The highlight of the room, however, is the campfire coffee table in the center, which features a nightlight that realistically simulates campfire flames. (*Please note that this room was designed with children about 9 and older in mind. While children of all ages are welcome at the house, this room may not be most suitable/safe for younger children to stay in alone without extra supervision.)
BEDROOM 3: THE HONEY BEAR ROOM
*sleeps up to 2*
Just across the hall, the Honey Bear Room provides a comfy queen bed, 40-inch flat screen with blu-ray, and glorious view of a tree-lined area of our property where deer often play or graze.
DOWNSTAIRS BATHROOM
The charming downstairs bathroom features an oversized in-ground soaking tub next to an enormous picture window that looks out onto the neighboring national forest land. It's a great place to soak in a nice long bubble bath while watching deer graze, but be warned- they may sometimes watch back (see photos!)
LIBRARY
Upstairs, you'll find the Loft Library, where you can cozy up with one of our various books or find a collection of board games for family fun time.
LAUNDRY
The primary bedroom walk-in closet doubles as a laundry room, and is stocked with helpful amenities, such as; iron/ironing board, ergonomic office chair, travel crib, extra portable fan, extra blankets, and cleaning supplies.
Other things to note:
PETS
We do happily welcome well-behaved cats and dogs, but they must each be listed on your booking. For other types of pets, please message for permission before booking. Only well-behaved, non-destructive, and house-trained pets that are older than 6 months are permitted. Cats and dogs must be up-to-date on their flea medication. We do ask that you keep all pets off the furniture and beds, and that they not be left in the house unattended for more than 1 hour at a time (unless in a crate.) Guests are fully responsible for any and all damage caused by the presence of their pets on the property.
EXTENDED STAYS
Most stays are limited to 28 days max, but extended stays may be considered on a case-by-case basis, and will usually be offered a significant discount if approved, (except in the summertime.) Message to request consideration for an extended stay.
FIRES & SMOKING POLICIES
There are no fires, candles, or fireworks allowed anywhere on the property, and no smoking except in the designated outdoor smoking area on the back deck. Fire safety is a very big deal in this neck of the woods, and we thank you for helping us to keep our property, neighbors, and guests safe from potential accidents.
PARTIES
There are absolutely no parties or large gatherings allowed. Only those listed on your booking are permitted onto the property, no additional guests.
SECURITY CAMERAS
For the safety and security of our property and its guests, we do have several outdoor security cameras in place at the entry points of every structure and also the driveway. The home's interior is, of course, completely private and camera-free.
STEPS
While we hope to be able to add such accommodations in the future, please note that at this time the house is not easily accessible for wheelchairs. Both entrances do currently require using a couple steps.
OUTDOOR CHILD SUPERVISION
Please note that the property is in a rural environment, and that while we continue to work hard to improve and maintain the grounds, the land around the house should in no way be considered "child-proofed." Children's outside play should be supervised, and potentially hazardous areas or objects should be avoided.

About the host
Hosted by Michael Priebe

I am a filmmaker living in Los Angeles who fell in love with Shasta Lake and the surrounding area after traveling through multiple times to visit family in Oregon. I wanted to invest in my future retirement while also having a place my family and I could meet halfway to get together and build memories more often. I love that I am able to provide the same opportunity for other families as well to build their own memories in this very special place.
Why they chose this property
Nothing beats the scenic beauty of Shasta Lake and the Shasta Trinity National Park. Whether you're there to for fishing or water sports or just to get some quiet relaxation, the environment is nothing short of magical.
What makes this property unique
This house has been a 3.5-year restoration project and a labor of love. It was once the jewel of the mountain, but had been neglected for some time before I purchased it. It was a joy, an honor, and a huge pain in the rear to restore the main house back to it's potential. I did at least 50% of the repairs and restoration and 100% of the interior design myself, so I take great pride and pleasure every time a guest tells me how beautiful and comfortable it was for their stay. Your stay helps make it possible for future restoration of the auxiliary structures on the property (currently unavailable to guests) as well so that I can expand the amenities available to you during future stays. In the meantime though, the main house is 100% ready and available for your perfect romantic getaway or family vacation.
