The best way to explore the island is by renting a car. If you do have a car, don’t leave valuables inside and don’t lock it when you park—locked cars are more likely to get a window broken by someone looking for items inside, though cars themselves are rarely stolen.

A beautiful beach with a small entry fee, a decent restaurant, and the famous local pigs that wander along the sand.
Cas Abao
Another gorgeous beach perfect for a day trip.
Westpunt
• Visit Playa Grandi to snorkel with turtles.
• Explore Shete Boka Park to watch massive waves crash into the bokas.
• For lunch, try Jaanchie’s—simple food but a charming bird sanctuary next door—or Sol Food for great dishes and stunning views.
Seaquarium
Offers dolphin swims and dives, plus the chance to feed flamingos.
Ostrich Farm & Aloe Farm
You can take a tour and still enjoy a fried ostrich egg, even though riding them is no longer offered.
Serena’s Art Factory
Visit to see the iconic Chichi dolls and learn about this social enterprise. There’s also a shop in Punda.
Scuba Diving
Many great dive spots; the easiest option is Goby Divers, located at the entrance to Royal Palm.
Kite Surfing
A popular spot is near the ostrich farm. Lessons are available through Nix Kite School.
Punda (Downtown Willemstad)
Walk around during the day and at night, especially across the pontoon bridge. Avoid the waterfront restaurants—they’re very touristy with poor food. Check Punda Loves You on Facebook for daily events.

It’s recommended to make reservations for most restaurants, except the casual lunch spots Rosa and Kiebbeling.
Dinner
• Mosa – Small plates; open Sundays when many places are closed.
• Wine Cellar – The island’s fanciest restaurant with an excellent wine list and a beautifully presented Crêpe Suzette.
• Rozendaels – A romantic open air garden restaurant serving Caribbean inspired dishes with European influences.
• The Pen – Go mainly for the view; sometimes features live music on Fridays.
• Café Old Dutch – Low key comfort Dutch food.
• Bientu Steak & Fish – Great food and views, though service can be a bit slow.
Lunch
• Kiebbeling – Traditional Danish-style fried fish sold at stands near supermarkets (e.g., next to Centrum on Bullenbaai). Closed Sunday and Monday.
• De Visserij – A beachside favorite serving incredibly fresh fish, open Fri–Mon.
• Sopranos – Good pizza in the old fort.
• Number Ten – Upscale lunch spot; reservations and slightly dressier attire recommended.
