Wonderful stay

We had a wonderful stay at Wild Orchid. The house is immaculate, and we loved its proximity to La Bougainvillea. We enjoyed the beach to ourselves, and had a great time discovering delicious restaurants on the island. Thank you to Pam and to Keenan for making everything so easy.

This was our second visit to the Wild Orchid home. This home truly exceeds our expectations. The home comes with everything you possibly need. The cleanliness of the home was exceptional and fits our adult family of 8 beautifully. We enjoyed the heated infinity swimming pool. The beach is beautiful, private with great snorkeling. The home is located near wonderful restaurants and grocery stores. The property manager was very helpful. We'll be back! We love Eleuthera!

Perfect Bahamian Get Away

This was an absolutely beautiful home and property- the pictures and descriptions do not do it justice! We stayed with 2 other couples and it was perfect. It feels very secluded and private, and we never felt like we were bothering anyone or being bothered by anyone. Dinner next door was perfect and easy to get to. All management were so kind and helpful and got back to us quickly. It is the perfect spot for families or friends of all ages. Defintiely will be rebooking to take my adult children.

It was also really nice to have the hotel next door for easy access to drinks and amazing meals. The only downside was that it was very windy while we were there and this house is on the Atlantic side of the island so there were a few days we could not use the beach. But otherwise we would highly recommend and stay again!

Delight & Relaxing

Staying at The Wild Orchid was a truly relaxing delight. The house is amazing and didn't disappoint us in any way. The pool was refreshing and clean, and the home had all the amenities we needed, from appliances to pool and beach toys. The bedrooms were big and spacious. We stayed with just two couples, and the house was more than enough space for us. One couple stayed in the cottage house while the other stayed in the main home. The cottage was also stocked with everything needed; we only used the coffee maker and the fridge for creamer and water. The showers had hot water and great pressure. One day, after exploring, we returned to find the door keypad batteries had died. Keenan, the house manager, was easy to reach and arrived quickly. He helped us get in and changed the batteries. No other issues arose during our visit. We loved sitting on the back balcony with a glass of wine, watching the ocean waves. This house would be great to come back to with the kids next time. I would definitely book this home again!

Absolute Paradise at Wild Orchid!!!

We can't say enough about our stay at Wild Orchid. The pictures do not do this place justice. Wait till you get there! The communication from Pam in the beginning was great to Keenan the property manager as they both answered every questions promptly with accuracy. The boutique hotel nextdoor was amazing and treated us like we were staying there. We ate lunch and dinner there and the conch fritters and spinach dip are a must! The house was spotless, beds were so comfortable and we are picky about our beds!! The pool was perfect to take a morning dip before hitting the beaches. Taking a morning stroll on the deserted beach in front was a daily routine and so good for the soul. I have no complaints other than our trip was too short. I would recommend at least a 10 day stay. Staying at Wild Orchid was beyond our expectations and so worth the price! We are planning on coming back in the near future!

Gorgeous beach with easy access and hardly any other visitors. We cook almost all our meals at the propery but there is a boutique hotel next to the property which has a charming restaurant.This is not the island to visit if you like nightlife but is perfect for beach lovers.Only complaint was that the pool needed more attention. While the maintenance man was there on a regular basis, algae was forming on the pool sides. My son told him that the pool needed algaecide, we're not sure he understood what we meant.Except for that slight problem I would rate the property a five. Our family of seven adults ranked it as one of their favorite vacation spots.

It is situated on one of the most beautiful pink sand beaches in the world. The house is located next to La Bouganvilla boutique hotel and they share the same staff, who are great to take care of your needs while you are visiting. So if you have read this far, you are probably thinking thast the title is be a bit confusing. If you haven't visited the island of Eleuthera, you may be surprised to find that is very undeveloped. If you are ok with that part then this may be the most beautiful place on the face of the earth. We brought enough meat (in coolers) for three dinners and the grill at the house was great for preparation. I highly recommend bringing anything that you want, because the grocery options are limited and expensive. There are a few great restaurants and bars around, including the restaurant at La Bouganviella.

Wild Orchid Stole Our Hearts!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First time to Eleuthera! We are a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 children. Wild Orchid was well equipped with all the luxuries one would need. The location was amazing also! Beautiful, nearly private beach with close reefs for snorkeling made it hard to leave! Our house manager, Sonya was very attentive and always available for anything we needed.The refrigerator freezer was not working properly, and she sent someone to repair it right away. The freezer never did actually work but it was a supply issue, which was out of their control. They graciously brought bags of ice for us since the ice maker was not working. The only suggestion would be to make the house more open-air. We are used to traveling in the Carribean and having open-air homes, where all windows can be opened and all doors have screens so that one can enjoy the Caribbean breeze. Wild Orchid only had one screen door and it didn't have a handle so it was difficult to open and close. Some of the windows needed repaired so they weren't able to be opened/closed either (although the repair man did open the windows, but they weren't able to be closed). Overall the house/property was amazing! If we ever return to Eleuthera, we will certainly book Wild Orchid again!

House has a well-furnished kitchen, which was important to our family since we cook almost every evening. The beach is fabulous. Usually we were the only persons on the beach as far as the eye could see. This is an ideal rental provided you are not into nightlife, although if you were, you probably wouldn't choose Eleuthera for your vacation anyway.The house is well-maintained. Everything works! The water is filtered; you don't have to lug those big jugs from the market. The property manager is only a phone-call away. A great place for a beach vacation.

The house/adjacent cottage has wonderful bedrooms and bathrooms, well appointed kitchen, ample space at the dining table, comfortable living room, and patios. The salt water pool is conveniently right out the back door with a stunning view of the ocean. A short walk down the stairs to the beach. I highly recommend this lovely property and hope to stay again on a future trip! Absolute gem of a house and Pam and Keenan were great to work with, they also provided helpful info on our visit, car rental, all we would need to know.

A Gem of a House in Eleuthera Bahamas!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This vacation rental is just as pictured and described by the renting agency. It was clean and very nicely decorated. The house is furnished with new ocean toys such as 2 very nice inflatable kayaks with paddles and life preservers, beach toys, beach chairs and umbrellas. The house also provided a brand new, high quality corn hole set with 2 sets of bean bags. What a view, playing corn hole in the yard between the pool and ocean! The house also had several new games such as Clue, Scattegories, Uno, and many others which were really fun to play on those rainy/windy days when we were not on the beach. The restaurant next door at La Bougainvillea is amazing. During our stay, we pretty much tried every dish and they were all excellent. The staff was very friendly. We also liked nearby restaurants such as Tillys which is very close by as well as Pascals and Frigate's. Truly, the only thing this house is missing is a hand mixer, LOL. The beds are very comfortable and the separate well-appointed cottage was nice for a set of newlyweds who traveled with us. If you stay at this home, don't forget to explore all there is nearby within an hour or so drive, such as Paw-Paw beach which has good snorkeling, the Emerald Blue Hole (yes, we jumped in), and several cave systems (bring flash or head lamps). We give this house a superior rating!

True Privacy and Wow Factor!

It's just a short drive from downtown Governor's Harbour. The house is located on La Bougainvillea's property. Under the new ownership of Wild Orchid the wow factor is evident! The spacious 3 bedroom/3 bath house and adjacent cottage are designated as private property. This is a unique designation as the property is just up the hill from the main hotel and La Bougainvillea's excellent restaurant. The home is situated on the beach with infinity pool just outside on the back deck facing the (Atlantic) ocean. The detached cottage behind the main house is perfect for couples traveling together or larger families seeking additional space/privacy with king bed and huge bathroom. The new owner has invested heavily in external and internal improvements. Fresh paint and buildouts over the entryways to both the house and cottage, fencing and landscaping to assure additional privacy, a new generator, great working WIFI, upgraded cookware, appliances and comfortable bedding. Individual ACs in each room/living area. TWO washer dryer combos, plenty of beach towels and great seating options around the deck and pool area. Flights from the states to the North Eleuthera airport are the easiest route so far that we have found to get you to the island just past midday. We love the 1648 restaurant on French Leave Beach (Marriott property) and of course the food and chef at La Bougainvillea are excellent. The Rock Sound larger market is truly worth the drive for those just getting settled for the week. We also go to the Island Farm - great local provisions, great selection of alcohol options and fresh bread during the high season on Tuesdays and Fridays! We were so happy to return to Eleuthera and to have a full week in this beautiful home and cottage. Many thanks to the new owner and to Matt Simon for coordinating another special trip to our favorite island AND new favorite home.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I planned our family vacation at Wild Orchid house almost a year in advance, It was so worth the wait! Wild Orchid is a spectacular property. The house is so well appointed and so well stocked that we wanted for nothing. Beautiful furnishings inside and out. The pool and the easy access to the private like beach was awesome. We also loved the location being so close to the La Bougainvillea resort. Our teenagers liked spending time there where the staff was super friendly. We enjoyed several cocktail hours there! Wild Orchid is also located very close to great restaurants like Tippy's and the Buccaneer Club. Our family vacation week at Wild Orchid was simply an awesome experience! Can't wait for another family vacation in Eleuthera and no doubt Wild Orchid house will definitely be our first and only choice!

Quiet beautiful location

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Layout and amenities listed were all accurate. If you want privacy this is a great house. The resort next door was great to walk over and get drinks or use the kayaks. Our adult children loved the dj that played on several afternoons and it was a fun lively group even though it's a small resort. The tourism office in Governor's Harbor has a really nice map and I would recommend getting one right away as most streets are not listed. Drive time from ELH airport was about 75 minutes. It was very easy as there is only one main road running throughout the island. Ziggy and Tenille (sp) made the trip. They go out of their way to make sure you are treated well and did everything we asked! The beds were comfortable and everything was very clean! They have dishsoap, dishwasher soap, plenty of towels as well. You will need to bring your own spices though as they just had salt and pepper. The pool is not heated and we didn't really swim at all as it doesn't get the afternoon sun. I'm sure in the warmer months though it's very refreshing. There are about 20 stairs down to the beach which was not an issue for us but could be for impaired individuals. We drove up to Spanish Wells and jumped in the Sapphire Blue Hole and then went in a shark cage with Face2FaceAdventures. Both are highly recommended. We also hired Tom from Bahama Adventures for lessons at Surfer's Beach. Again - recommended but it's a 15 minute walk if you don't have 4 wheel drive from the parking to the beach just so you know ahead of time. We had terrible food/service at Tippy's and would not recommend. La Bougainvillea next door had good food but pricey. Our favorite food/service was at Buccaneer's in Governor's Harbor and we ended up going twice. We had several times where their credit card machines are down so make sure to bring plenty of cash. COVID testing at the clinic in town - $25 cash and easy.

Amazing House on a Beautiful Beach with the best view

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house exceeded our expectations based upon the pictures. The house is extremely spacious and comfortable. The showers are amazing and the A/C works great. The pool and beach chairs are great and it is on a pink sand beach where you can take a long walk either direction. We would definitely stay here again. The house is close to good restaurants, grocery stores and other beaches.

November Wild Orchid Trip

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The villa was even better than we expected! It's situation is stunning, right on the most beautiful beach. We didn't think we would use the hotel next door for much, but we ended up there everyday for one or two meals since Eleuthera was still pretty closed. The hotel staff are lovely and fun. Each bedroom and bathroom was very large and spotless. The living space is bigger than the photos show. We were VERY happy with everything at Wild Orchid and would stay again, but probably at a time when Eleuthera has more open. (There is construction going on behind the villa, but it did not bother us at all.)
