About this property

CABIN sleeps 6 Perfect location between Manistee & Ludington

Our 1940's era log cabin sits under a canopy of pines and hardwood trees on N. US 31 just a 10 minute drive to Manistee, Nordhouse Dunes Wilderness Area, Magoon Creek Nature Area, and 20 minutes to downtown Ludington and Ludington State Park. Our guests love to explore the area during the day and come back and relax by the fire pit in the evening.

The cabin comfortably sleeps 6 and has two private bedrooms, and a loft bedroom. The living room has a flat screen TV with Dish cable, and a DVD player. WiFi is not available, but there are plenty of board games and books in the cabin to keep you busy. We encourage our guests to unplug and explore the natural beauty of our area.

The fully equipped kitchen has all the extra essentials needed for an extended stay. A coffee pot, pots, pans, dishes, utensils, crock pot, blender, and kids dishes are included.

The cabin has a propane heater and electric baseboard heat for cold winter nights.

A private deck with a large picnic table, fire ring with 6 chairs, and a gas grill are included. Firewood is available on site.

Our convenient location on US 31 allows for a short drive to the sandy beaches of Lake Michigan, and many different rivers and lakes for fishing, canoeing, and kayaking. The Little Manistee River, Pere Marquette River, and Big Sauble River are within a 10 minute drive from the cabin. Nordhouse Dunes Wilderness hiking area, Magoon Creek Nature Area on Lake Michigan, Manistee National Golf Course, Silver Lake Sand Dunes, and Big M Recreational Area are within a few miles of the property. Little River Casino, hiking and biking trails, downhill and cross country skiing, restaurants, craft breweries, farm markets, and wineries are all within a 10-30 minute drive.

Take a day trip north to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, Leelenau Peninsula, or Traverse City. Head south for the day to Silver Lake Sand Dunes Rides, Michigan's Adventure Theme Park, or book a fishing charter boat for the day on Lake Michigan.

2 night minimum stay. Wi-Fi is not available, but Verizon and At&t have strong signals. The cabin has a portable air conditioning unit, and it is heavily shaded by many large trees and stays cool during the day. We allow well behaved dogs, max 2, for a fee of $20 PER DOG, PER NIGHT. This is a separate fee for guests traveling with a dog, payable in cash or card at check in time. Dogs must be kept off beds and furniture, kenneled if left unattended in cabin, and on leash at ALL TIMES when outside. No exceptions.

NOTE: Our cabin is located directly on US 31, so there will be road noise in the morning and evening as people travel to and from work. There are 6 other Highway 31 Cabins rental cabins located on the property, but there are no shared spaces. You have the entire cabin and outdoor deck and fire pit area to yourselves. Please read the entire listing description, as well as previous guest reviews, so you are aware of cabin amenities and location.

Everything you could ever need.
This place is amazing. The property has about 6 cabins with private fireplace so it was so incredibly quiet. The cabin we stayed at was so stocked including a full coffee bar and hygiene items in case you forgot something. The rooms were very clean and plenty of space for my family of 5. Our fire pit was very spacious with lights hanging around on poles. It is right off of 31 but you wouldn’t notice. I would definitely come back again with my family.

Great cabin and location
This woodsy and vintage cabin was a great location. We were able to host other family members from out of state for a picnic during our stay. Just a short trip down the road is Lake Michigan and Manistee National Forest where we could bike the trails and swim. Great host!

Location
We were somewhat disappointed in the location of the cabin, we should have looked at the description of the property a little better. We were looking for a quiet cabin in the woods and we were instead located on a very busy highway. The cabin itself and its decor would have been absolutely perfect if it had been located farther into the forest with some trails to explore.

Great stay, thank you!
This was the perfect cabin for my friends and I - the kitchen had everything we needed and there was just enough space. The hosts were easy to communicate with and friendly! The cabin is just off a highway, so there's some noise to be aware of. Thanks for a great stay!
