About this property
CABIN sleeps 6 Perfect location between Manistee & Ludington
Our 1940's era log cabin sits under a canopy of pines and hardwood trees on N. US 31 just a 10 minute drive to Manistee, Nordhouse Dunes Wilderness Area, Magoon Creek Nature Area, and 20 minutes to downtown Ludington and Ludington State Park. Our guests love to explore the area during the day and come back and relax by the fire pit in the evening.
The cabin comfortably sleeps 6 and has two private bedrooms, and a loft bedroom. The living room has a TV with Dish cable, and a DVD player. WiFi is not available, but there are plenty of board games and books in the cabin to keep you busy. We encourage our guests to unplug and explore the natural beauty of our area.
The fully equipped kitchen has all the extra essentials needed for an extended stay. A coffee pot, pots, pans, dishes, utensils, crock pot, blender, and kids dishes are included.
The cabin has a propane heater and electric baseboard heat for cold winter nights. Air conditioning and fans are provided for warm weather.
A private deck with a patio table & chairs, fire ring area with 6 chairs, and a gas grill are included. Firewood is available on site for a small fee.
Our convenient location on US 31 allows for a short drive to the sandy beaches of Lake Michigan, and many different rivers and lakes for fishing, canoeing, and kayaking. The Little Manistee River, Pere Marquette River, and Big Sauble River are within a 10 minute drive from the cabin. Nordhouse Dunes Wilderness hiking area, Magoon Creek Nature Area on Lake Michigan, Manistee National Golf Course, Silver Lake Sand Dunes, and Big M Recreational Area are within a few miles of the property. Little River Casino, hiking and biking trails, downhill and cross country skiing, restaurants, craft breweries, farm markets, and wineries are all within a 10-30 minute drive.
Take a day trip north to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, Leelenau Peninsula, or Traverse City. Head south for the day to Silver Lake Sand Dunes Rides, Michigan's Adventure Theme Park, or book a fishing charter boat for the day on Lake Michigan.
2 night minimum stay. Wi-Fi is not available, but Verizon and At&t have strong signals. The cabin has a portable air conditioning unit, and it is heavily shaded by many large trees and stays cool during the day. We allow well behaved dogs, max 2, for a fee of $20 PER DOG, PER NIGHT. Dogs must be kept off beds and furniture, kenneled if left unattended in cabin, and on leash at ALL TIMES when outside. No exceptions.
NOTE: Our cabin is located directly on US 31, so there will be road noise in the morning and evening as people travel to and from work. There are 6 other Highway 31 Cabins rental cabins located on the property, but there are no shared spaces. You have the entire cabin and outdoor deck and fire pit area to yourselves.
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE listing description before booking and understand that the cabin was built in the 1940's and is in the woods. If you're looking for a vintage, charming cabin experience, this place is for you! If you are looking for contemporary & modern, there are plenty of other cabin type options around the area to choose from.
