About the host
Hosted by Melinda Norfleet

Hi! I'm Melinda, owner and host of the cabins at Saving Hollow. I grew up here in the Hocking Hills, surrounded by forests, trails, and the kind of beauty that makes you pause and breathe a little deeper. This land has been part of my family for generations, and it has always held a very special place in my heart. Hosting gives me the chance to share a piece of that with others—whether it’s the golden light at sunset, the quiet stillness of the woods, or the simple joy of stargazing on a clear night.
When I’m not welcoming guests, I’m busy raising three kids who are deeply involved in travel and varsity sports. You’ll usually find me cheering from the sidelines at soccer, volleyball, or lacrosse games, or volunteering with our local PTO. I’m also an educator and a big believer in community, which has shaped the way I approach hosting: with care, hospitality, and a desire to make people feel both welcome and at home.
Much of the work on our cabins has been done with our own hands, alongside family and friends. From building boardwalks to choosing finishes, every detail has been a labor of love. It means a lot to us that these spaces feel thoughtful, modern, and comfortable—while still keeping a strong connection to nature.
I love creating places where couples, families, and friends can unplug, relax, and make memories together. It’s an honor to host in a place that has filled my heart my entire life, and I hope it gives you the same sense of peace and joy that it has always given me.

Why they chose this property
Our cabins are tucked into the heart of the Hocking Hills, surrounded by tall trees, rolling hills, and endless skies. The mornings are filled with birdsong and soft light through the woods, and evenings often bring breathtaking sunsets and star-filled nights.
What I enjoy most about this area is its perfect mix of peace and adventure. It feels wonderfully secluded—you can relax in the quiet of nature, soak in the hot tub, or take a slow walk through the forest. Yet just a few minutes away are some of Ohio’s most magical trails, waterfalls, and hidden caves. It’s a place where you can truly unplug, breathe deeper, and feel restored.

What makes this property unique
Guests love staying at Saving Hollow because it feels like the perfect mix of modern comfort and natural beauty. Vaulted ceilings, skylights, and big windows make the cabins feel bright and open, while the cozy fireplace, private hot tub, and full kitchen add all the comforts of home.
The setting feels secluded and peaceful, surrounded by trees and quiet, but you’re still only minutes from the best trails, waterfalls, and caves in Hocking Hills. Many guests say it’s the ideal spot to unwind, reconnect, and make lasting memories—whether that’s stargazing from the deck, soaking in the hot tub, or simply enjoying the view.
