The cabin was clean. We came as a family for Christmas and brought our 2 dogs as well. Everything went well. The hosts were helpful even during Christmas when the internet had gone out due to a storm. They ensured people came to fix it.
Super clean, well stocked with activities and cookware, loved the water and firepit. The only downside was the guy that lives two houses down insisted on leafblowing the water from 8am to 8pm.
We stayed for 5 days and enjoyed how simple the cabin was. It was not fat from the town and very close to nature. It gives you that feeling of a old family cabin.
Peaceful neighborhood with other houses close by, the creek is so enjoyable.

Great Family Trip
This cabin was a great escape from south Alabama! Our pre-teen boys and dogs loved the creek and game room. The creek level was low, which made it perfect for the pups and finding crawfish. Close enough to town, and a multitude of trailheads to choose from for a hike. Not as secluded as we had hoped, but overall great place to stay.
Great location and home base for our family. Great fire pit area next to creek. Had all the family needs at this house.
Bring a box fan for upstairs bedrooms. Can get rather warm.
This is the best cabin! We cant wait to return! Thank you for sharing your home. We love the creekside/mountain atmosphere. It is so peaceful and serene. Thank you for the well stocked kitchen!!! That was a huge plus!
Our family of 5 with our dog stayed comfortably for 5 nights. We had everything we needed to have a perfect Christmas in mountains- even snow! The groundskeeper was very helpful and friendly! We will be back.
Cabin eas so comfortable, i really wanted to hide away till Spring! Veey well appointed. It's like they anticipayed our every need. We loved coming in from the beautiful area and warming up by the fire, watching movies, playing hands and cooking dinner. The game room was a nice bonus. Decor was so nice.
Cabin was ok. Kitchen was small and hard for two people to cook together in. Only one bathroom made it hard for people to feel like they could take their time in it. ( shower etc) Could have been a cute little cabin - but furniture was old and mismatched and only the couch has cushions in the living room. Lots of cobwebs in the downstairs bedroom. Overall kinda dark inside. Nice Creek and view of it, but it was far enough away you really couldn't hear the water. Place down by the creek was not very inviting and we spent no time there. Caretaker was very friendly and great at helping answer questions. Have rented other properties in the area that we liked better. Overall, good for a few days but wouldn't want to spend more than that.

Hi Erin, we want our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, and we apologize you experienced some issues during your trip. Our living room furniture was custom made by the Ohio Amish and it is very comfortable and fits well in our cabin. We do have an open floor plan with the kitchen and dining room. This provides our guests with plenty of room for cooking and visiting with family. We do state in the listing there is only one bathroom. There is a picnic table, fire ring, and charcoal grill next to the creek and the water level depends on the amount of rain we have received. We feel our cabin is adequately priced for what we offer. We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests.

Cabin size and physical description accurate
Very well equipped for our 4 adults and 2 children. They advertised satellite tv, but upon arrival a note on fridge said it was not available. It’s October in the mountains of TN but the gas fireplace shown in the pictures and described in the listing fail d to say they turn off gas until after Oct 31st. The internet is very challenged....slow...
All these things could have been disclosed - but wasn’t. They said call the property mgr any time...got voice mail and in 5 days...no call back. Oh..there wasn’t cell service for us either. Will not go back and have been educated about verifying everything state in the listings.

Laurel, we're sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your stay at this cabin. Because of the beautiful location of this cabin, there's no cell service. However, the cabin does have a landline with unlimited long-distance calling capabilities. Additionally, the listing does not advertise that there's satellite television at the property, but we apologize if that caught you off guard. We're sorry that you were not able to get in contact with the property manager. We've made the necessary changes to ensure that this doesn't happen for future travelers and we're sorry it affected your stay. This cabin also offers amenities like an upscale game room and a very nice large hot tub. It's also located in a beautiful setting with a large flowing creek. This homeowner is known for going above and beyond for their guests, and we're confident future travelers will have exceptional stays. Best, the Evolve Team

Needs attention
This is a lovely home but needs some proper maintenance . This was our 2nd stay here and was very different from the 1st. Some kitchen items need replaced, most the seasonings in the cabinet were rock solid, no hand/dishwashing soap to clean up dishes that could not be put in the dishwasher. The gas grill on the patio is so dirty inside the bottom from built up grease and food. While cooking our dinner it flared so bad we removed our food and turn off the gas and had to throw water on it to put it out. We would not use it and recommend a deep clean on the grill. DVR in the living room didnt work. When we opened the hot tub a dirty wash rag was on the frame under the top! The home before the bridge and rental property may become an issue. They don't leash their dog up and will let it run and they enjoy riding their 4 wheelers up the driveway and into the woods behind the rental property 11:00 at night.

From the owner: "I’m truly sorry your recent visit was not as pleasant as your previous visit. You are correct the cabin was ready for some upgrades. I recently spent 8 weeks making some major improvements. We now have a new washer and dryer and garbage disposal. The back deck and second story deck off of the game room have been replaced with new wood. The back deck is now covered, with ceiling fans. This will allow for grilling and enjoying the outdoors, even if it is raining. There is a new grill as well. We absolutely provide hand soap and dishwashing soap for our guests. This has been addressed with the housekeeper. Please note, that we do not provide spices for cooking. Any spices left in the cabinets would have been left by previous renters. We do provide a coffee maker and coffee for our guests."

It was almost a great place but at the end of the stay, only so-so
First off the goods and there were many,
The kitchen was really nice, the inside of the house was well kept, the master bedroom was comfortable, the hot tub was nice and worked, the game room was a plus, lots of movies as noted, coffee machine was a nice touch. The creek was a blast chasing trout and fish. Internet and phone came in very handy and the owner did check on us about the satellite and new a/c.
Now the not so nice. I don't want to sound picky but all these items added up to the point that they took away from the overall stay enough that we would likely drive past it in the future.
It's not "secluded 25 acres" especially when you sit in the hot tub and look at the front door of the neighbor 50 yards down the driveway. The hot tub would have been more enjoyable if you didn't have a tree directly above you dropping leaves and sticks in the water as well as the fact that the gutters above you were overflowing with last years leaves and you were just waiting for a breeze to send them all down on you.
The back porch needs a serious pressure washing, every chair, table the porch itself and handrails was deeply covered with something dirty and sticky. The cushions around the glass table were dirty and one was ripped across the top. We had to put a towel on the chairs that we used when we sat on the porch. From the porch the creek was just visible through the grown up shrubs and trees that cut off most of the view. You could tell that it would have been a very nice view with some trimming.
The satellite didn't work but a third of the time that we were there, there was no remote for the DVR and seriously to put a 12 inch TV in the master bedroom with no connection to the satellite and no remote to even watch dvd's is in bad taste.
Back to the outside. We did enjoy a few games on the air hockey table and had thought of having a drink on the upstairs porch but changed our minds when we went out. There were wet and slippery leaves and moss all over the porch and tree limbs that hung down in your face. Again, it could have been a nice place to spend some time but we didn't want to risk it.

Hi Ken, We are glad that overall you enjoyed your stay at the cabin, but we are sorry that some aspects of the outdoor space fell short of your expectations. There was a large storm shortly before your arrival, which took out the cable for a few days and knocked leaves from the surrounding trees onto the property. The homeowner has cleaned out the gutters and trimmed branches away from the second-story deck since your stay, but this is a mountain cabin and trees are part of the area's beautiful scenery. The homeowner would have been happy to direct you to the picnic table and fire pit near the creek and assist you with the outdoor furniture if you had let them know that you were not completely satisfied during your stay. They strive to provide an exceptional mountain getaway for their guests, and we are looking forward to helping them continue to host satisfied travelers at this vacation cabin! Best, the Evolve Team

The address listed was not the same as the GPS address. GPS brought us to the wrong address. After we reached the wrong address, GPS stopped working because there is no service, no internet, no cell service, no anything.. We drove back to town, sent emails to evolve and the contract person to let them know we were sent to the wrong location and didn't receive a response from either one until the following day!! We finally found the place... address was on the back side of the mail box and on green signs on a telephone pole that looked like mile markers. Huge pile of dog urine under one of the wooden rocking chairs in the living room. Thank you for allowing us to bring our dogs, our dogs do not pee inside and i do not expect to pay a cleaning fee and have to pick up someone else's dog urine! Front porch leaks horribly. There are 3 other cabins right by so you are not alone, I know it doesn't say you are alone, but it says 25 acres and surely doesn't say there are people within earshot. There is a man and a dog that lives in one full time. There is a lot to do in the cabin. Movies to watch, game room, and a bunch of games. There is the creek, small fire pit, but we had to clean 4 feet around it of leaves to have a fire because the ground was covered in them, and when wind came up, we didn't dare have a fire. Nothing outside was cleaned up at all as far as raked. Home has everything you need though, and we did enjoy our time and loved the side porch but would not stay again.

We are glad to hear that you did enjoy the home and had everything that you needed. We provide very concise directions if traveling from the South or North on Hwy 68. We advise not to rely on GPS to locate the cabin. Renting the cabin for over 20 years, no one has had any issues locating us.
Sorry that you could not reach someone immediately. We provide internet services, and you can send and receive cellular calls. We wish you had called Evolve or the guest contact instead of sending emails; we could have assisted you much quicker. I, the owner, provide my direct phone number for instances like this.
The front porch does not leak unless it's raining and if the wind is blowing.
Our cleaner for 20 years does an excellent job, and we have never had any claims that there was urine left on the floor. They do a very thorough job, and our reviews reflect this. We have a lot of trees on the property, and this is the time of year when leaves fall.
This cabin and its decks were perfect for our family. It sits in the woods with only 2 more cabins. It is nice a secluded which is what we were looking for. It is very peaceful and relaxing.

Loved it and Enjoyed our stay. Cute & clean cabin.
We stayed for 4 nights. Cute & clean cabin. The caretaker and the cleaning lady are very nice people. The caretaker lives in the 1st cabin & that gives you a sense security. I was worried about no cell service, No biggie we had great wifi and a land line phone. Sitting on the deck over looking the creek & enjoying peaceful sounds, was so relaxing. One of the best getaways, from the daily bump and grind of everyday life we have ever had.

Great little place, but outdated
Upon arriving we were a little disappointed. There was trash all over the house. A burger patty on one of the tables in the bedroom upstairs. And dishes in the dishwasher for us to put ip along with clothes in the dryer to put up. Not impressed. We ended up taking pictures of everything so we didn’t get accused of leaving a mess. The screen door is broke too. The beds are not comfortable except for the twin beds. The king size bed sunk in and my daughter and myself ended ip almost rolling off in the night. We were there 6 days and would have loved to unpack our suit cases but the closets and drawers are full of someone’s clothes. Never stayed somewhere that had peoples clothes in the closets and drawers. It’s NOT alone. There’s 2 other cabins on the property close! The care taker lives there and they rent the other one out. We brought our dog and we were all playing in the creek and the care takers dogs came running up barking at all of us. So we ended up having to keep our dog on a leash in the water because of it. Not happy about that! Richard is extremely nice the caretaker. The cabin could use some updating for sure. The couch is not comfortable to sit on so don’t plan on doing a lot of tv watching and there’s only 2 tvs that have cable or a roku stick. The master bed has dvd only and the upstairs king has no tv. The kids absolutely loved the cabin! Playing upstairs and playing in the creek! We had a wonderful time! It was a bit disappointing at first but it grew on us. Defiantly need some updating to keep up with the newer cabins but Other than a few things it was a great stay! We all ended up having a great time and would probably stay again.
