Great property, fantastic decks with all day sun, the lake offers great fishing and swimming, kayaks and lounge chairs available for use. Short drive to Cooperstown and other towns. David is a great host and I promise you will enjoy your stay.
David’s attention to ensure our stay was perfect did not go unnoticed. Rocking in the chairs on the deck overlooking the lake was relaxing. And his personal touch to make us homemade breakfasts with a focus on local ingredients went above and beyond.
Loved staying at David’s home. The location is perfect and the kindness and friendliness of the host was welcoming. I didn’t realize it was a shared bath but that was not a problem since I was the only one there. Perhaps I missed that in the listing. Brought back many memories for me when I lived at the lake during the summer.
This lakeside property with multiple windows to bring in the vistas, and even more decks with very comfortable rocking chairs for morning coffee, evenings with your favorite light tapas and wine to watch the magnificent sunsets instantly ushers you into a relaxed and peace-filled state of mind and body. The attentive host and morning chef offers very helpful suggestions and the knowledge of a long-timer to assure your visit to Glimmerglass and Cooperstown includes the hidden gems. The grounds are beautiful and the mural painted on the lowest foundation wall adds to the rootedness of welcome and hospitality by the delightful host, David.
David took me in last minute for my sons Cooperstown Baseball Tournament and I could not have been more pleased.
David is an amazing host with a wealth of local knowledge from restaurants to scenic drives A+++

Thanks again David
David’s place has an amazing view of the lake. It was so relaxing to sit on the deck. Breakfast was delicious and David even left us cookies one evening. It is close to Cooperstown so near some great restaurants and museums. Wonderful weekend get-away!
From the moment I received a response to my Chateau du Lac inqury, I knew we were in good hands. When David's email read: "What kinds of food do you like for breakfast," I felt an instant sigh of relief. David Nash, owner of Chateau du Lac, made us feel not only welcome but he treated us as if we were returning guests. We were hooked with the stunning view of the lake and access to Kayaks and swimming, but the homemade breakfast and genuine care and attention to detail makes him as good of a host as any, if not one of the best. Not to mention, he's adapting to a new way of being a host since Covid, as we are adapting to being guests. It was a memorable modified baby moon. Also, the town is almost entirely open and the Hall of Fame, baseball fan or not, is one of the best museums in the country.
