Very nice charming home perfect for a 2 week visit with my long distance boyfriend. When there was an issue with the lock the host immediately remedied it made sure we had a back up method the remainder of our stay. Will stay here again on my boyfriends next visit as long as there is availability

We had such a wonderful stay. Our host was very responsive.The property is as advertised. It was very clean. The king sized bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes etc that one might need. We would definitely recommend this property to others.

To this point we have never given or received a negative VRBO review. We have been fortunate in our travels to stay in many fabulous rentals throughout the US, from Alaska to Florida and in between— places that were accurately described as “luxury” or “pet friendly;” places where the host was gracious and in every communication and action went out of their way to make us feel like welcome guests (rather than potential bad tenants); places that we’d like to stay in again. This isn’t one of those places.

We believe future guests deserve the full context behind this review. During this stay, we discovered that the reservation did not accurately disclose the 2 pets staying at the property. Our house rules require guests to disclose pets and pay the applicable pet fee. When we addressed this with the guest, they refused to add the pets to the reservation or pay the required fee. We also became aware that the dogs were being allowed off leash and were defecating in a neighboring property’s yard. At that point —it involved noncompliance with our rental rules and being respectful of our neighbors. Rather than ignore the situation, we contacted Vrbo to address the matter through the platform and sought guidance on how to proceed. The guest was disrespectful and I would not recommend them to other hosts! The negative review was posted after we took those steps. We believe the timing and circumstances are important context for anyone reading it. We absolutely welcome dogs at our property. What we cannot accept is a review that gives future guests a misleading impression while omitting the circumstances that led to our involvement with Vrbo. Our responsibility as hosts is to protect the property, enforce the same disclosed rules for every guest, and be respectful of our neighbors. We will continue to do exactly that.

The property is beautiful with nice ammenities but I grew up in Akron and the house is not in Portage Lakes. Inside the home was comfortable, well stocked with modern decor. Dusting of fans and vacuuming under some of the furniture is needed but otherwise very clean. The host was very responsive and easy to communicate with.

Not well maintained or clean. The floors and rugs had not been swept in a long time. Pet hair and dirt were everywhere. All the bedding had hair on it. I had to sweep and put bedding in the dryer. The outside area that looked so inviting in the pictures was not clean or kept up. It was not as advertised. It looked like it had not been tended to in months. It was very disappointing because it all looked so nice in pictures.

To any future guests, please read the reviews from the from the guests that stayed right before Stephanie. We are very disappointed to read this review, as it does not accurately reflect the condition or care we put into our property. The home is professionally cleaned and prepared before every guest’s arrival, and the exterior is professionally maintained with regular lawn care. We take the cleanliness and upkeep of our property very seriously. What is particularly disappointing is that none of the issues described in this review were communicated to us during the guest’s stay. We reached out to her directly to make sure she was comfortable and had everything she needed, but she did not respond to our messages or notify us of any concerns that would have allowed us to address them. We also respectfully disagree with the characterization that the property was neglected or “had not been tended to in months.” The guests immediately preceding this stay left excellent reviews, and enjoyed the location on the canal very much. Had we been made aware of any legitimate concern during the stay, we would have gladly addressed it immediately. We care very much about providing our guests with a clean, comfortable and well-maintained home.

House was very clean. Had a couple small issues that were handled immediately. Host was great with communication and responded promptly. Wish the weather would have been a little better so we could have enjoyed the outdoor area. Would absolutely stay here again and recommend to anyone looking in the area. We really enjoyed our stay! The home was clean, beautifully decorated and comfortable. We had everything we needed to cook dinner in the kitchen easily..My husband and son caught a crappy while fishing in the canal after we went biking all day. The hosts have bike and boat rentals available, which was so easy amd convenient. This is a lovely home and the hosts were so helpful and easy to communicate with the entire time.

We visited Akron in order to hike and visit Cuyahoga Falls & National Park. Our hosts were amazing. Amanda placed top notch e-bikes in the basement so that we could ride on the towpath along the canal directly behind the house. She arranged a pontoon boat excursion on the portage lakes which was the highlight of our visit. The excursions are reasonably priced. We were only 30 minutes from several of the park entrances. Our dogs were welcomed and she thought of all the little things in the kitchen and house. The neighborhood was quiet and pleasant. The parks, bike trails, canal, and lakes are beautiful. She is a super host!

Very nice property. I came in for work and the location was convenient to my client. The property was clean and as described. The host communicated well. I enjoyed the space. The three bedrooms had nice beds and decent closets. The location to the towpath was unique. There was ample parking and having the driveway was excellent. Very nice TV in the living areas and bedrooms. Bathroom is great. Kitchen is small but efficient. I liked the dining room table. There is a functional work desk in the living room as well. There is a basement with a living area, but we did not use it. Thanks for a great stay!

My teenage kids and I stayed here for a visit to Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The house was darling and spacious with plenty of room for all 3 of us. We loved being on the canal and sitting outside. The amenities were great and we were very pleased. The only concern was that it was a solid 30 minute drive to the park each day (without traffic), not 15-20 minutes like we were told. Other than that, we would stay here again!
