We have an extremely convenient locale for people who are looking to explore the scenic Washington Coast. We're merely 17 minutes away from Forks, which is a tiny community that has a rich history of river and ocean fishing. We're just 7 minutes away from the picturesque LaPush beaches with great hiking trails and also easy beach access. Peaceful Rialto Beach is just 7 minutes away in the other direction and features easy beach access and an "along the beach hike" to the "hole in the wall" where sea life abounds.
Have lunch at Three Rivers Resort and their famous Jacob Black Blackberry Shake and Werewolf Burger or visit beautiful Lapush for a seafood dinner on the water at Rivers Edge Restaurant. Three Rivers has a new special Treaty room where you can sample their delicious menu.
Beach Hikes at Rialto Beach or Lapush each 7 minutes from the house. -Shopping in Forks offers one large shopping store, a pharmacy, gas stations, restaurants, library, post office, and several bars with music for night time adult entertainment. -Sit in outside on the covered deck or on lawn chairs around a fire. -Go Kayaking in the rivers -Go Surfing at the beach, surfing has become a big attraction in Lapush and surfers come from all over to surf the waters at First Beach. -Fishing or Hunting is at a premium in our rivers and forests. -Clam digging and smelting in season -Swimming in the rivers and lakes -Hike the many trails in the national parks and around the vicinity.
Fishermen and Sportsmen: We are very happy to have you, the house is in the middle of several great fishing holes and because you are minutes from three rivers and a boat launch it is a great site for you. The driveway will accommodate big fishing boats and you are 3 minutes from Three Rivers Resort which offers an excellent guide service. Hunting? We can offer a cooler to hang your venison in, for a $50.00 flat rate per animal. Fishermen have said this rental has everything; right in the middle of where they need to be and also accommodates their wives very comfortably. We have added an outside fish cleaning station.
Surfing? Some of the best surfing happens at Lapush's 1st Beach. Don't miss out, the house is only minutes from Lapush and all that beach has to offer. Three Rivers rents surf boards and gear for catching those waves.
The house is a Park Model Mobile Home, very clean, cute, and a great place for a romantic get-away. This is a great place to just relax, it is quiet and you are close to beaches, rivers, nature hikes. Forks is a small town only 17 minutes away. The hoh rain forest is an hours drive South and Sol Duc hot springs an hour North. To the West is shi shi beach, Ozette lake and the Makah museum.
In Feb of 2025 we painted the inside with a soft gray color, put in new floors and took out the carpet, put in new blinds and just made some all around improvements.
Fishermen: There is parking for big boats and even space to turn them around. For bank fishing you are centrally located to the Quillayute, Bogachiel, and Sol Duc, three of the most popular fishing rivers. Steelhead fishing is one of the most popular sports on the Peninsula or "the Coast", as some people call it. One of the best places to launch or take out your boat is at Leyendecker park less than one mile from the Blue Spruce. We just added an outside fish cleaning station in 2025. These rivers are fished by qualified guides and it is a no brainer why! The rivers all come together at Leyendecker park and boat launch so hatchery bound fish have to go back to the State hatchery at the end of Bogachiel way by traveling these rivers. Three Rivers guide service is 3 minutes from Jacob Blacks house and has qualified professional guides to help you and give you the fishing experience of your life. The drifts are between 3.5 and 5 miles long or you can do the full 8 miles if you want. There is a hole on every corner full of fish and probably fishing boats.
MICE “oh no”: We sometimes have a resident mouse. We try to discourage them him with an ultrasonic noise so please leave it plugged in. They are illusive, and persistent, so please don’t encourage them with meals and petting! they love a buffet.

This is my 4th visit to Blue Spruce Meadow. My family and I love the place and the beaches. Linda is a lovely person and very helpful if needed. But the place is well equipt for anything we’ve needed.
Perfect location to explore the Olympic Peninsula. The house is appointed with all the extras to make for a comfortable stay. Our host accommodated our needs for a great week visit.
Really enjoyed our stay and the amazing location. This place is under 10 minutes away from Rialto, La Push, Second and Third Beach. Could not have asked for anything better. Would definitely stay here again.
Beautiful cottage with ocean view and walk to town. Quiet north beach location was convenient to walk everywhere. Easy drive to beautiful beaches both north & south of Cannon Beach.
Lovely little place in amongst a beautiful landscape
We had a great stay here. Everything we needed and close to beautiful beaches and town.
Would recommend to anyone needing a cosy home base while exploring the area.
Perfect little stay in Forks. Right in the middke of 2 amazing beaches. Has everything you need. Saw deer each day in the front yard! Linda is a perfect host.
Wonderful location for us -- close to 3 rivers and 3 beaches, so many things to do! We stayed in winter and it was very pleasant, not freezing or snowing. The accommodation itself is very cozy and homey, the proprietor is clearly detail-oriented. Everything works as expected. Proprietor lives on property so easily reached if needed, she checked on us when we arrived which was appreciated, as safety matters to us. Highly recommend, we are coming back and bringing friends as there is another small accommodation on site. Thanks Linda! 3
Was the perfect place for us to stay for a few days and tour hall of mosses, devils punch bowl, and Rialto beach! The place was clean and cozy! 10/10 would stay here again.
The unit was immaculately clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. The full sized kitchen was well equipped. The location is isolated and bucolic, very peaceful. Great access to the beach and not far to Forks. I would stay there again.
We had a relaxing 3 nights and days enjoying beautiful WA beaches, reading, making art, and eating delicious food prepared at home and warmed up in a well stocked kitchen.

About the host
Hosted by Linda Middleton
I am 73 and my husband Kenny is 86, we have lived on this property for 50 years. We have a son with a disability and autism (48) who lives with us, he is an amazing young man but does not go down to the Blue Spruce, so you probably won't meet him. We have a dog, (Ivy), black lab, who we discourage from going down to the Blue Spruce but might show up. If she does, send her home, she is very energetic. My main job is working in a social service agency that I founded 46 years ago. It is a multi service agency that serves people all over the Peninsula from birth to seniors in various capacities. It is called Concerned Citizens and is on the web under CCPNW.org We have a great garden every year and I often share our harvest with our renters in July and August. I was born and raised in the red house on LaPush Rd, formerly it was the, (Jacob House Vacation Rental), until my family sold it. Growing up in a small town and on a farm is a great way to grow up. Back in the 60s there were only a couple homes in a 10 mile radius, no TV, and a world of trees, bugs, farm animals, rivers, gardens, and beaches to explore. Now our grand children still like being here with nature and outside activities the main course of the day. We all love the outdoors and are not easily deterred by the rain. We have always led a simple lifestyle and enjoy the friendly camaraderie of the town.
Why they chose this property
In my dad's later years he bought a Park Model Mobile and moved in on to our property so that he would be closer to us. The Blue Spruce was my dads home until he died in 2016. He took very good care of the house and we are happy to share it with you. We moved it closer to the road and will plant trees to shield it better from the beach traffic, but that will take a little time. It is far enough from our house to be very private. It is a perfect location and people are loving it. We are just up the driveway in the big house on the hill.
What makes this property unique
Forks is on the tip of the Olympic Peninsula and is a beautiful rain forest panorama of green evergreens, majestic mountains, the Pacific Ocean and beaches; rivers full of salmon and steelhead, and a wilderness full of deer and elk. Most recently it is the home of the characters from the Twilight series fictional books and movies. Where vampires and werewolves battle over the treaty line for the love of a teen age girl, Bella Swan. The uniqueness of the area is the magnificent trees, how green it is every season, the fishing and hunting that is available and the quietness of the location. This property is so convenient, just 5 minutes to both beaches, Lapush and Rialto, 15 minutes to Forks, 45 minutes to the Hoh to the South and Shi Shi beach and Neah Bay to the West. You will likely see elk and deer outside your window, and can enjoy a campfire and marshmallows at night or sit on the covered deck and just enjoy the evening.
