Great stay at this cozy Lake House. For starters, our hosts went above and beyond in accommodating our very late arrival. The neighborhood was friendly and perfect for our family stay. It was nice to have one bedroom on the first level and two on the second, with a bathroom upstairs and downstairs. We made good use of the spacious refrigerator, even heating oven and large sink for easy cleanups. So nice to have a full size washer and dryer available as well! We were on a work trip and didn’t get to spend any time enjoying the lake, but so appreciated the lovely views of the water and hills each morning…and the resident deer that roamed the neighborhood. Thank you to our hosts for making this such a welcoming trip for our human and canine family!

The host asked us to finish drying a load of laundry that included other people’s clothes. If you’ve read the negative review from 2025, you’ll be surprised to find that we also arrived to a half bottle of watered-down dish soap. A trip to Oak Shores requires cooking all meals at home, and keeping up with the dishes requires… soap. We encountered the same story with the laundry detergent. The place was stocked with a few mini pods and an upside-down bottle of Tide—nowhere near enough for a 3-night stay for 8 guests. We ended up having to make a run into town to restock these necessities. For this trip, we brought hundreds of dollars’ worth of groceries, and the oven going out on the first night prevented us from cooking several planned meals. There was also no toaster oven or air fryer to remedy the issue. Luckily, the range was still working, and we were able to improvise using the grill. It was a kettle grill, which didn’t match the covered gas one on the listing and also required a run into town to stock up on more charcoal. Finally, the general cleanliness and comfort of the property were disappointing. I understand that it is a lake house in a wooded area, but the number of bugs, stains, and crumbs made the home feel grimy. The place was dirty and the poor insulation created an uncomfortably warm space to hang out.Considering the premium fees, one of which is specifically for cleaning, I cannot recommend this property if you are looking for a stay with basic amenities.

This one is unfortunate , the guest seemed happy the whole trip but asked for a refund for his stay a couple of days after checking out. I told him we couldn’t do that and he retaliated with a negative review

Advertised as Sleeps 8 and as long as you're just sleeping that is accurate, but, it only has one couch that sits 3-people no other seating/no dinette. It only had four pillows total, no curtains in two of the bedrooms, sparce furniture, one room had a bed only, only one TV total. Cracked window in living room, no dishwasher or microwave, dirty pan and watered down dish soap. One trash can total, non in the bathrooms. No instructions!
