About this property
Rich Creek Wilderness Cabin Retreat · Off-Grid Family Haven
Get away from it all and enjoy the same cozy, handcrafted mountain retreat you’ve always loved, now with NEW management! This 3BR cabin in the woods is the perfect escape for families, adventurers, and anyone craving a true unplugged getaway.
Tucked along an ATV-friendly country road just 20 minutes from New River Gorge National Park and 25 minutes from Summersville Lake, the cabin blends adventure with seclusion. Ride your ATV straight from the driveway to popular off-road trails, or wander the property’s 10 private acres with a babbling creek and shaded woodlands.
Inside, the cabin welcomes you with warm wood interiors, rough-cut lumber walls, and a stone fireplace crafted from rocks gathered on the land. The soaring two-story living room opens into the kitchen and dining area, perfect for family nights and shared meals. A main-level bedroom and bath with a clawfoot tub offer comfort and charm, while two upstairs bedrooms share a convenient Jack & Jill bathroom.
Step out onto the wraparound porch overlooking the creek, your favorite place to relax after a day of exploring. Sip coffee from the Keurig in the morning, then trade screens for starlit skies and the sound of nature at night.
With limited cell service and no Wi-Fi, this is a place to truly unplug. Spend your days hiking, rafting, biking, fishing, or four-wheeling, and your evenings gathered around the fire pit, soaking in the tub, or swinging on the porch. Let the kids play in the creek, chase fireflies, and rediscover simple joys.
Located in Fayette County, WV, you’re just 15 minutes from Fayetteville’s dining and shopping—but tucked away in a peaceful hollow (“holler”) where time slows down.
Other Things to Note:
- Rich Creek Rd is a narrow, winding gravel road, your car will get dusty! Four-wheel drive is required in winter. If pulling a trailer, contact us for the best route in. This is an authentic former coal-mining community, so you may pass abandoned houses on your way.
- The cabin does not have a washer/dryer on site. We offer a simple laundry service. Just leave your laundry bag in the morning, and it will be returned fresh, clean, and folded by the evening. A small service fee applies. Please contacts us for more details.
We provide maps, pamphlets, and local info in the cabin.
