Enjoy the waterfront and outdoor activities while staying at our place!
This 1950 fisherman cottage has been nicely renovated to modern standard though it is not a luxury place, it is nice, clean with all modern amenities. Having a bbq in the front garden watching the water is a beautiful experience. The main bedroom is spacious with a queen size bed, the second bedroom contains 2 single beds and there is a sofa bed in the entrance lobby. There is one bathroom with a shower. The living area is a big open space with: Big couch Dining table for 6 Pool table Big flat screen with NETFLIX The kitchen has all the essentials
NOTE: Please be aware that we renovated this 70 years old house quite nicely, nevertheless in very strong storm rains, some water pressurized by the wind will be getting into the living area just around the back door, not at all in the other parts of the house.
In the shed guests can use: 4 adult bicycles, 1 junior bicycle 1 double sea Kayak 3 single sea kayaks
The train station is just under 15 minutes' walk to go to Brisbane CBD or to the Gold Coast. From our house you can cycle, walk or run following the waterfront to Manly and Wynnum and enjoy the Manly market on Saturdays/Sundays. Lota creek is also a beautiful Aussie bushwalking experience, the track starts from Brenda's little foot Bridge on Bowering Street, under 10 minutes' walk from our house. Right from the front of your doorstep from Queen Victoria boat ramp, there is 2 hours kayaking in one direction in the famous Tingalpa Creek. There are 2 nice playgrounds and parks for children nearby, one facing the front of the property for toddlers and little kids and another one under 10 minutes' walk for older kids. Opposite the park for older kids, there are 2 fish and chips and burger shops Lota Takeaway and Bart’s Place. The Royal Queensland Yach Squadron in Manly is 15 minutes' walk, it is a Sailing Academy and offers a wide range of nationally recognised learn to sail and sailing related courses in both dinghies, keelboats, multihulls and boards. Moreton Bay Day Cruises departs from William Gunn Jetty Manly.

Great Accommodations for sure, will go back in the futureUse of bicycles and kayaks they have on the premises.Host was great to deal with via text prior to arrival and during the stay. Nice quiet neighbourhood are, train station to get into Brisbane or other areas is a short 10 minute walk away. Town of manly is a short 30 minute walk along the shoreline walk/biking pathway with shops, restaurants and pubs etc.
My son and i stayed at this property, it had everything we needed plus more!
Very comfortable, we were concerned with no aircon in the main living space but the big fan did a great job and an aircon wasnt needed :)

For information, we have added a big Aircon in the living room/kitchen since December 2020.
The property was in a nice and safe area, property was as described and the hosts were available to assist should we had needed any advice or assistance. There was more than enough bits and pieces in the kitchen cupboards to help us as we cooked a few meals during the stay. Billiards table was fun and the telly had plenty of channels to offer when it wasn’t throwing a hissy fit and refusing to load up. The main seating in the big room was possibly past its best but the dining table and chairs were sturdy.Bed was comfortable and plenty of storage offered. The air con worked well. All in all a great stay, thanks to the hosts for offering up such a decent property.
Small house, but clean and neat. kitchen is well stocked, would love a microwave though.
Property manager was great and happy to fix any issues we had.
Enjoyed our stay in this little cottage. It was a nice place to come home to at the end of each day of outdoor activities in the beautiful greater Brisbane area. Great location with many beautiful walks close by and beautiful scenery. The host was easy to communicate with and check in was easy. Comfortable beds. Thank you
Check in was easy, our first night was comfortable. Next morning however, we woke to some kind of bugs taking over the second bathroom. We sprayed the area, cleaned, they continued to invade. The owner was made aware, we were told to spray, that these things happen in Australia. Second bathroom became unusable for the remainder of the week. The owner lives on site, so we thought they might come deal with the pest situation, they did not. We left the property one day early. Lota is a charming town, absolutely worth visiting!
From arrival to departure everything was made easy. Location was perfect for what we needed, house was clean, comfortable and affordable. Our host Valerie was very accommodating and no request seemed to be a problem. It's definitely not your five star accommodation but the property is clean, in a quiet neighbourhood and the train station is within walking distance. With the water just across the road having kayaks and bikes supplied that can be ridden for miles along the waterfront were a definate bonus. Will definitely stay again.
Everything went well for us. Never got a chance to use the available kayaks, but having a launch across the street is great. As a birder, the park across the street was also great. A bit odd not having a light in the bathroom with the shower, but we managed.
My family and I (family of four) had a great month-long stay in this property. The location is great, with plenty of nearby playgrounds for kids (including one just across the road). The house was clean and had plenty of towels, sheets, and kitchenware (though there was not a microwave during our stay, so we borrowed one from family). It is small but has plenty of room for four people (including a full bathroom with shower, sink, and toilet as well and a half bath with toilet and sink). The owner was very easy to communicate with and even gave us an extra night free when our travel plans changed. The neighborhood is quiet and great for walks along the Esplanade or the mangrove walk around Lota Creek. Excellent if you are a bird watcher or like to canoe! It was also wonderful to be walking distance to the train for easy access to the city.
The property is a quaint cottage but it has everything you need and more. A pool table, bikes & kayaks. Valerie the host is so lovely and flexible. We didn't get to use all of the activities as we were out most of the days but it is lovely to come home and be able to cook. The little touches like extra toilet paper, washing powder, glad wrap, coffee, sugar and much more. Thank you Valerie for the lovely stay and the late check out.
We liked the location and it was fantastic to have access to boats and bicycles! The property is nice and clean, with all the basic supplies.
Yes, it would have been nice to have a dishwasher, as we stayed for a full week, but we managed :)
Many thanks to the hosts!

Great little cottage to use as a home base!
Hosts were fantastic on arrival, giving a tour of the cottage and outlining local points of interest.
Summer is warm and the cottage is basic but does have a great fan, a/c and a breeze. Also ensure that bug spray is used for sand flies.
A wonderful place to stay.

Love this little home. Very comfortable and clean. The only thing missing is an extra mirror and covered car parking. Would definitely come back a third time

Quiet with all the necessities
Perfect for kayaking just over the road, or a short drive to the Manly yacht club where there is a ramp.
