About this property
Beautiful 3-bedroom chalet with a private 5 acre pond in Esperance
Ready to ditch the grind and chill for real? Welcome to The Getaway Chalet, tucked away on a sweet 12-acre patch in Esperance, NY. This isn’t your typical upstate escape—think less “cookie-cutter Airbnb” and more “hidden retreat your friends will envy.” Smack dab in the Mohawk Valley, but honestly: feels like its own little world.
Roll through the tree tunnel of a driveway (kind of magical, not goanna lie), and boom—there’s the chalet on your left, a big old 3-car pole barn on your right. That deck out front., Massive! Half of it’s covered by this 10x20 screened tent with cozy outdoor furniture—perfect for lazy mornings, or, you know, those evenings when the bugs come out for blood. There’s a firepit for marshmallow shenanigans, plus a charcoal grill so you can show off your questionable grilling skills, both facing a killer 5-acre pond.
And about that pond: it’s the real show-stealer here. Whether you’re a pro angler or you just like floating around pretending you know how to kayak, this place delivers. There’s bass, perch, bluegills—basically a fish party, with bonus wildlife cameos thrown in. We go catch-and-release (let’s keep it classy), so bring your fishing pole and see if you can outsmart a 5lb largemouth bass.
Inside, you’ll get some serious Bavarian vibes—think chalet, but with every modern thing you’ll use. The main floor has an open kitchen situation with all the gadgets: stove, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, even a Keurig for caffeine emergencies, plus washer/dryer for muddy hiking socks. Dining room’s right there—easy access, no awkward trekking your plates everywhere. Living room for board games and movie nights, a full bathroom for actual baths (not just standing awkwardly under a shower), and a queen bedroom where you can wake up to the pond staring back at you. Oh, and mudroom out back—because “where do I dump my stuff?” is a real question.
Head upstairs: two bedrooms, both giants. One rocks a king bed and pond views (plus a dresser, nightstands, TV, cedar closet—the works). The other room has a queen, a front-row seat to the treelined drive, dresser, cedar closet, TV, and its own little balcony with a café table for coffee and sunrise. There’s also a half bath up here so, yeah, no midnight stair sprints.
Between the three bedrooms and a pull-out sofa, you can fit 8 adults, bring your squad or keep it intimate, your call. Pure relaxation and fun, honestly.
Feeling like exploring? We’ve got a big old book full of personal picks—local hikes, quirky shops, spots to grab food, day trips, you name it. You’ll probably wish you had a couple extra days to fit it all in.
Extras? Oh, you better believe it:
• Fast WiFi so you can humblebrag on Insta.
• Keurig pods (try not to use ‘em all at once).
• Laundry & dishwasher pods because chores still happen.
• Spring water for the Keurig, plenty of bottled water for everyone.
• Hand soap, shampoo, towels, backup linens, iron, hairdryer, all the essentials.
• Free use of kayaks and paddle boat—yep, we’re fancy like that.
So yeah, The Getaway Chalet pretty much covers it all. Come get cozy—your unplugged escape is waiting.
