Nestled at the end of a shell covered lane with views of the Gulf of Mexico, Bandy Beach is a quaint 10-unit complex located on the quiet East End of Sanibel. Bandy Beach A101 is a breathtaking and spacious 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom stilted Gulf-front condo that can comfortably accommodate up to 6 guests. Following Hurricane Ian, this condo was taken down to the studs and built back with all new flooring and paint throughout, brand new AC unit, a modern kitchen with everything you need to make all your meals in-house and stunning bathrooms. To complete the look, you will enjoy all new, upscale furniture, area rugs and décor with a chic coastal vibe in blues and natural tones.

Your primary suite looks out over the Gulf of Mexico with all new bedding & king-sized mattress, and a Smart TV. A luxurious ensuite bathroom offers a large walk-in shower, spacious countertop with 2 sinks and heated tile floor. The second bedroom also has views of the Gulf, new bedding & king-sized mattress, and Smart TV. The third cozy bedroom is just down the hall with new bedding and 2 twin mattresses. The guest bedrooms share a coastal inspired bathroom with shower/tub combo and heated flooring.

After a long day at the beach hunting for the perfect shell or exploring Ding Darling to catch a glimpse of the island’s native wildlife, you can look forward to watching the game on a large Smart TV in the living room or enjoying some family time playing a game around the dining table. More memories can be made on your private lanai which overlooks the heated pool and the Gulf of Mexico. The lanai runs the full length of the unit with an area for dining and a comfortable spot for 2 to sit and enjoy your morning coffee or an evening cocktail. The unit is stocked with beach towels and beach equipment is stored on the ground level – perfect for those long-awaited days on the beach!

Additional amenities include: community heated pool, covered parking, boardwalk to the beach and a community use gas grill. Bandy Beach is a non-smoking property. There is a semi-private elevator for your use (currently not operational).

Sanibel Holiday's units are equipped with the latest Wi-Fi enabled locks offering easy check in and check out with no need to pick up or return keys. Everyone in the family can have access with one simple and, most importantly, secure code.

All the meals we ate at the unit were enjoyed on the large screened in porch! There were a number of light bulbs burnt out through out the unit-It seems the cleaning company would alert management after the last people checked out. The one in the master shower was replaced after we informed them of the issue. The only other drawback is the location of the pool. We visited in Dec and by 3 pm the pool was shaded by the building next door.

Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful time in Sanibel as always. It was our first stay at Bandy Beach, and the condo seemed a little “tired.” The kitchen was okay except for knives that would barely cut butter and an ice maker that was very slow to make ice. First impressions are important, and when my husband and I entered our bedroom (twin beds), we found the closet piled high with extra bedspreads, pillows, and a high chair. We had to clean out the closet before we could even get into it. Also, there were no bedspreads on the beds, giving it an army barracks-like appearance. Perhaps after the cleaning crew has left, a quality control person could come in to see if the condo is truly ready for guests.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We live the location of the rental. It is very close to the lighthouse and pier and close to ride bikes to stores. The condo does need some updating. The furniture and flooring has been updated, but the kitchen and bathrooms need to be updates. The pocket doors to the one bedroom have been broken the past few years and don’t close completely. The kitchen felt dirty. The cabinets looked dirty inside and the layout is not very good. There was food on the baseboards. The wire shelving in the closets were rusty. There were ants in the twin bedroom. The price for next year has gone up $1000 per week. For that price it should be more updated.

Was able to eat in with no problem and able to find private space for everyone. Made constant use of the lanai. Had four adults and two small children. Rented bikes to have at the condo and made several trips to ice cream, other beaches and even the Farmer’s Market. The condo location was close enough to walk to lighthouse on the beach. Pool was never crowded or loud. Best surprise was the utility closet below stocked with beach gear and pool toys for the kids. Only downside was the master bedroom mattress which is overdue to be replaced. But overall a lovely place to vacation.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have visited Sanibel every summer for 30+ years and Bandy Beach specifically for that past eight. We liked this unit for the most part. Pans for cooking are lacking but otherwise nice and very comfortable. The only problem was the water quality and issues caused by red tide. This is the first year we experienced this at this location. It's very sad but if it continues, I probably will need to look at other locations for a family vacation. We love visiting Sanibel during the summer but it's a safety issue. We will be working hard to vote for those politicians who will work to correct this and to make our schools safe by putting in place reasonable and effective gun control. Hope you do the same!

The condo was not ready at 3:00 for check-in. I was traveling with my mother in frail health and had asked if at all possible for the condo to be ready early. I was told that while there could be no guarantee an effort would be made to adjust cleaning schedules. That 100% did not happen. My mother waited in the heat while the cleaning crew arrived just before 3:00 to begin the cleaning process.

Love Bandy Beach—will be back next year!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed at Bandy Beach in 2019, and we’re going to be back in 2020, but then Covid hit. We live the privacy, the pool, the beach, and the 3 bedrooms, 2 baths. Beds are comfortable and kitchen is well stocked with what we needed to cook. Would love to see some new living room furniture when we come back (for 2 weeks), in 2022. Unit is clean and live the screened in lanai.
