We liked the condo very much. The box spring in the second bedroom did not fit the frame so it squeaked if you moved on it. We requested a new one which Breakaway said they had but it never showed up during our stay. Someone had to sleep on the mattress on the floor during our trip which made us pretty unhappy. The TV in the master bedroom was not connected to anything and I didn't like that. Breakaway ordered a new TV but apparently Amazon canceled the order. As condo rental owners on the island for eleven years we get things happen. We just wish for the money we paid that things would have been corrected during our two weeks.

Needs some TLC
The view was great! The appliances are very old, rubber gasket falls off on the dishwasher; the cooktop is stained; the oven is rusting; the front screen door is dented at the bottom leaving a hole , so you can’t have the door open for a breeze; trundle bed had no sheets for the bottom mattress; not enough blankets . The “penthouse deck” is just the rooftop, hatch will not stay open no chairs up there. We did appreciate the locker key, making it easy to store our beach stuff.
My advice…..do not visit after 2 hurricanes. This is our first time visiting Sanibel and although the condo was very nice and everything was as listed, the elevator was out so we had to walk up three flights of stairs with all of our stuff (we drove from Ohio so we had a lot of stuff for 6 people). Our pool was not open because it was still undergoing repairs after Milton. Two things I wish the management property had communicated to us. We were not able to get in the gulf because of debris and bacteria. There was no way to cool off and the kids were not able to swim and get their energy out. There were a lot of things out of the control of the management property, but it made our stay less enjoyable. And did I mention the noseeums?!?! Just awful!! Couldn’t walk out the door without being attacked. If you love smelling like bug spray all day and night, it’s not too bad. We really did enjoy the island itself (despite being ravaged by two hurricanes) and our condo, which is what I’m really reviewing…..I just wish there was better communication about what was not available or was out of service. Especially since we did not get the insurance so we could not get our money back if we decided not to go. Get the insurance people!!!!
Loggerhead cay was up and running. Still in active construction, but we didn’t mind. We were just happy to be back on the island. We had a great week in the sun at the beautiful heated pool and easily accessible beach.
We hope to stay here again next year.
We had stayed at compass point before and loved it so when we saw an opening we grabbed it. What we were not told was that although our condo was fine, the ground floor was littered with construction debris and the concrete was slick from sand and dust. I ended up falling and breaking my nose and 3 bones in my foot the 2nd day. Needless to say, my vacation wasn’t the birthday celebration I had hoped for. If you go this year, make sure you find out if the property is really ready and safe.

Condo on Sanibel Island.
A very nice unit in a great location. Lots of construction work being done at and near the complex to repair hurricane. Would have been good to know its extent before we arrived. Also, elevator listed as an amenity was not working during our stay. Great proximity to the beach and a lovely ocean view from the lanai.
Perfect place, perfect location, perfect view and they honestly thought of everything you could possibly need Ina rental! Very generous offerings in the kitchen, beach chairs, fishing poles, pool toys, etc. Highly recommend this condo! You will not be disappointed!!
Property and location were great. Parking spot is difficult to locate. Took us a few days but finally found it on the backside of the other condo building. Should add the info to the binder. Parking the first night was impossible and frustrating in the dark after a long drive. No parking stickers or papers so unsure if the buildings were just that full or if nonresidents were using the guest spots. Storage space only had chairs and maybe a beach tent. No boogey or skim boards or beach toys, and the only fishing pole does not work. We did enjoy our week in the sun.
On the beach, facing the ocean sunrise, very peaceful and tranquil. Easy access to restaurants and stores. Peaceful swimming pool to compliment the ocean. Gas grills are well maintained. Roof top patio was a fun play area with the kids.
Enjoyed our trip. Loved the condo but had a few issues with cleaning company. Manager made it right when I complained. Would stay there again. We Love Sanibel Island!
The property was even better than noted in the pictures! So many extras! The pool was fabulously maintained. The beach was so close and the access was incredibly easy. The unit was up to date, very clean, and everything that we needed for the beach and fishing was provided. The property agents were so helpful.
Thank you for a wonderful experience!
Great location, close to stores and restaurants but not too congested. The condo was clean, kitchen very well-stocked. There were adequate beach chairs, umbrellas, and even boogie boards. We loved the roof-top deck and the lenai for morning coffee and evening cocktails. We have stayed at many different places in Sanibel but this had the best views and was closest to the beach.
We originally planned 6 of us (2 parents and 4 adult children) but it was a good thing 1 person couldn't come because it would have been a tight fit. 4 smaller children would be fine. The only negative is that there were not enough bath towels for 5 people.
(4 of us were females who use 1 towel just for hair).
We would definitely return to this unit for future visits!
From the moment we walked into the condo to the minute we left we experienced absolute paradise! The location was fantastic and being on the top floor was a bonus with the spiral staircase to a rooftop deck. We even got up at 6:45 AM to watch the sunrise. A local bike rental company dropped bikes off for us and we were able to explore the island on bikes. The unit was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. I would absolutely recommend this condo!
Uncooperative & lack of understanding of Covid Pandemic Issue
This particular management company and/or owner was totally inflexible on any level of refund or changing of dates related to our stay given the concerns we had for travel with our family coming from different parts of the country to meet at the condo. Some of which have high risk factors. We chose not to fly during this high risk time and know many other people in the same situation who had reservations with reputable Florida management companies and owners that were very understanding and either gave them full or substantial refunds or full credits towards future stays. These folks were all about the money and even called to suggest we were just too afraid to fly and that we should have no concerns and not be scared. We have lost people close to us and had others very sick so it is not a hoax to us and we took and continue to take it seriously. We are also in the hospitality business and offered our guests full cancellation privileges right up to the day of arrival related to the pandemic, these people had no concern for us or for these concerns. I would not suggest dealing with them, they likely do not take the cleaning and maintenance of their units seriously either given their disregard for their guests safety and interests. There are plenty of good places run by reputable and understanding people in the area, check them out before taking a chance with these people for sure.
The condo was very nice and clean. There was seven of us and we had plenty of room. The view was perfect! You can't get much closer to the water than Compass Point.
