The feeling of luxury combined with peace and beauty makes Masia Claudia into the perfect holiday home for a large group of friends and family. Very easily accessed, but at the same time hidden from the road and from any populated area

OUR HISTORY:
Lisbeth and I (Bertel) are the owners of the company SYDENS FERIEHUSE. For the last 14 years we have engaged in letting out fantastic Catalan holiday homes, all of which live up to our criterias: they are authentic, charming homes and are all of a very high standard. We help Anna and her family let out Masia Claudia.

We consider the perfect holiday to consist of two parts - a nice holiday home and some great excursions and activities. For each part of Catalonia we have made an activity document with our personal recommendations. As we consider ourselves to be experts in Catalonia, you are of course always welcome to ask for help and advice. We aim to find the perfect holiday home for you :-)

Catalonie - Spain: In the north-east of the Iberian, on the Mediterranean side, and occupying a relatively small area lays Catalonia, one of Spain's most fascinating and diverse regions.Geographically and culturally, the splendour of Catalonia is so unique. It has a vast diversity of landscapes ranging from rocky coastlines to long flat beaches, from mountains to plains, and from marshlands to forest. It has great cosmopolitan cities such as the amazing Barcelona with its fantastic art nouveau buildings, or the historical Gerona and its great old Jewish quarter. It has small medieval mountain villages sitting at the foot of the Pyrenees and elegant coastal resorts in the sandy shores of the Mediterranean Sea. Catalonia has a distinct regional identity that borrows little form the rest of Spain. Catalans have their own language, and are intensely proud of their unique art, cuisine, folklore and long history. Ask the Catalans themselves and many will tell you that Catalonia is not a region but a Nation !

Urgell & Lleida: The region Urgell and Lleida stretches from the regional capitol Lleida along the Segre river and the road C-14 up through the Pyrenees and in direction Andorra. The area around Lleida is one of Spain's most extensive plateaus, and the flat terrain makes it ideal for agriculture, olive- and fruit plantings and increasingly wine production.

The area Urgell on the other hand, is less populated, mountainous and has great nature and sceneries. Wake up to the smell of the grass and the flowers, the sounds of the birds, the locusts and the bells of the cows in the distance. Feel the dry heath taking over when the day matures. Jump in the pool and dry again in the beach chairs, that the basics of a vacation in the Lleida and Urgell region.

the excellent network of highways makes it easy to visit some of the well known sites of Catalonia. The subsequent sights can be reach in less than 2 hours in car: Penedes vine district, Tarragona/Port Aventura, Barcelona, Girona & Costa Brava.

Activities: The region is the perfect point of departure for enjoying rambling, trekking and long-distance walking routes throughout most of the year. The difficulty of these routes varies greatly, but there is something for every type of visitor. It is possible to choose between quite easy routes that cross the plains, valleys and lower mountains, or ones of medium-high difficulty that run through some of the highest parts of the Lleida Pyrenees. Many of the routes are signposted and easy to follow.

Adventure sports
The Lleida Pyrenees are the leading venue in Spain for adventure sports, with more than 150 specialized companies and world championship events (including kayak, paragliding, hang-gliding, canoeing). There is also scenery of outstanding natural beauty for nature lovers which can be enjoyed through trekking, GR, MTB and horse riding.

We are Bertel & Co from SydensFeriehuse, a small family-run agency specialising in authentic holiday homes in Catalonia.

The story of SydensFeriehuse began in 2003 when we (Lisbeth and I - Bertel) spent a holiday in Catalonia and became friends with a local property owner. What started as helping her rent out her holiday home gradually developed into SydensFeriehuse, built on personal relationships, trust and a genuine love for the region.

Today, more than 20 years later, SydensFeriehuse represents hundreds of carefully selected holiday homes throughout Catalonia. We know the properties, the owners and the surrounding areas extremely well, and we personally visit the homes we work with whenever possible.

What matters most to us at SydensFeriehuse is personal service. We are not a large booking platform where guests become booking numbers. We enjoy helping guests before, during and after their stay, whether it is recommending restaurants, suggesting day trips, arranging a private chef, helping with transport or simply answering questions about Catalonia.

Many guests return to SydensFeriehuse year after year, and we consider that the greatest compliment we can receive.

We look forward to helping you create wonderful memories in Catalonia.

Why they chose this property

Quite simply because we fell in love with Catalonia.

When SydensFeriehuse first started working with holiday homes in the region more than 20 years ago, we quickly realised that Catalonia offers something truly special. Few places in Europe combine beautiful landscapes, Mediterranean climate, rich culture, excellent food and genuine hospitality in quite the same way.

We often joke with our French guests that Catalonia is "the sunny side of the Pyrenees". The mountains help create a fantastic climate with warm summers, mild springs and long outdoor seasons.

One of the reasons SydensFeriehuse continues to focus exclusively on Catalonia is the incredible variety. One day you can relax by your private pool, the next you can visit a local market, explore a medieval town, enjoy a wine tasting, cycle through beautiful countryside or spend the day on the Costa Brava. And of course, Barcelona is always within reach for a memorable day trip.

Even after more than two decades, the team at SydensFeriehuse still discovers new places and experiences in Catalonia, which says a lot about how special this region really is.

What makes this property unique

At SydensFeriehuse, our philosophy has always been quality before quantity.

Rather than listing thousands of holiday homes, SydensFeriehuse focuses on carefully selected properties that offer something special. Most of our homes are independently owned by local families, many of whom we have worked with for years and now consider personal friends.

When selecting properties for SydensFeriehuse, we look for authentic character, beautiful surroundings, privacy, good standards and facilities that help create memorable holidays. Many of our homes feature private swimming pools, spacious gardens, outdoor dining areas and plenty of room for families and groups to spend quality time together.

Another thing that makes SydensFeriehuse different is the local knowledge behind every booking. Because we know both the homes and the owners personally, we can often provide insights and recommendations that large international platforms cannot.

Whether you choose a countryside villa, a traditional Catalan farmhouse, a coastal retreat or a mountain getaway through SydensFeriehuse, our goal is always the same: to help you experience the real Catalonia while enjoying the comfort, privacy and freedom of your own holiday home.
