About the host
Hosted by Dan
Sue and Dan moved to Brooksville in The Fall of 1980 with the intent of going back to upstate New York in the spring. After 45 years, we are still here. We hope that you like Brooksville and the weather as much as we do.
Why they chose this property
The neighborhood where the Garden Cottage is located was developed in the early 1920's. Many of the original brick streets still remain. Before being developed, the area was citrus groves and pecan orchards. The large oak trees were most likely planted in the 1920's, which would make them over 100 years old.
What makes this property unique
The building that is across from the Garden Cottage on Bell Ave. was the former Hernando High school. It closed in 1968 and now belongs to the Baptist Church. The present Hernando High is down the hill on Bell Ave. to the North.
