About this property

"Like a Tree House" Overlooking the Water

The original owner of this property told us that she felt like she lived in a tree house. She was right! Enjoy lazy days under the shade of these big beautiful live oaks. Updated recently with new floors and furnishings, you will find our home very comfortable and peaceful.

This home with 2 spacious bedrooms and 1 bathroom sleeps 4 people comfortably. Queen size bed in master, full size bed in guest room. Kitchen is fully stocked with pots & pans, utensils, dishes, and enough "essentials" in bathroom and kitchen to get your vacation started.

Once you get settled in, go out and enjoy the outdoors. The pristine Weeki Wachee River is home to an abundance of wildlife. You'll see sheepshead, mullet, blue crabs, and of course manatees. I counted 10 manatees one early morning leaving the spring at the end of our canal! And of course tropical birds, hawks, and eagles. Use my kayaks (3) or canoe (1) or bring your boat and tie up to my dock. Or you can rent a jon boat or kayaks from the marina across the road from the entrance to my neighborhood. Take the provided beach chairs, beach towels, and umbrella to the beach at Rogers Park, on the river (2 min away) or Pine Island, on the gulf (10 min).

My family and I have been spending weekends in this home for 10 years. It should have everything you need to enjoy your time here.

Loved this property! The house was perfect sized for the 2 of us with comfortable seating areas in kitchen, living room, screened porch, balcony deck and ground level patio/fire pit/dock. Plenty of equipment for paddling the canal plus a few floaties for splashing around the canal. Would love to return to explore more of the waterways and to sit on the balcony. Very peaceful, comfortable and lovely canal views.

Loved our 3 night stay! We were lucky to get early check in and put our boat in at Roger’s park close by. We scalloped, snorkeled, fished, kayaked. We brought our paddle boards and used them to explore the clear Weeki Wachee river and saw lots of manatees. Host was amazing communicating and no surprises; house is fantastic just as listed.

A beautiful cottage style home with waterfront location.

Quiet but not a remote location. Checkin was smooth and easy. Kitchen was fully stocked with all the immediate necessities to get us started. Our waterfront views were amazing and full of mannatees, dolphins, otters, turtles and birds. Dawn answered all our questions promptly and with care & a friendly manner. Loved our stay & can highly recommend!

Wonderful stay! Such a great location to access the Weeki Wachee River. We kayaked everyday of our stay and saw beautiful manatees and porpoises. Owner is quick to respond. Enjoyed sitting on the deck and the dock and looking at the canal. Rental was neat and clean and had everything we needed. Thank you!

Treehouse on Weeki wachee

The house was very clean and well stocked with comforts of home. We were able to launch paddle boards off the back dock just a short paddle to the river. Would definitely stay here again

Amazing, manatee retreat!

We had an excellent time at this property. Dawn was a wonderful host and got back to me with all my questions. We saw manatees every single morning swimming through the canal, and even “Chip” the dolphin! Great Home, great location!

Cozy spot on the water

We really enjoyed staying here. We came down to visit the springs in the area and hopefully see some manatees. We had 3 swim right by us as we were sitting on the dock. I want to come back in the off season when things are a little cooler and quieter and I know just the place.

Immaculate and beautiful home in the best location on the river.

We arrived to a spotless house right on the river. The owner was just a message away and very helpful. Comfortable bed, relaxing patio that screened in, plenty of kitchen utensils, and just a short 10min paddle to rogers park and upperdeck. Great time thanks to a great host!

My sister and I returned to Weeki Wachee for our cousin’s wedding. Our family owns multiple properties in the area. We wanted to stay somewhere right in the ‘nest’ and the ‘Like A Tree House’ spot was PERFECT. We saw all kinds of wildlife and the manatee were running often. Spotless house with every amenity you can imagine. Just a great stay. Thank you!!!

The sweetest "treehouse" getaway

I surprised my husband with this property as a weekend getaway to celebrate his 50th birthday. It is clean, very cute and comfortable. It has everything you need in the kitchen and it is so nice that it has kayaks, canoe and bikes for use! We loved seeing manatees while sitting out on the nice upstairs deck! It Is especially nice having morning coffee outside overlooking the water and birds!! We would love to come back to this sweet home for a future stay!

Very nice

Needed a short Mothers Day getaway before our busy Lawn season as we own a lawn care company about an hour away from the river. All expectations were met. Only wish is an a/c vent in bathroom. Hard to taking a relaxing shower and feel refreshed when bathroom is humid when you get in. Every else was magnificent and house is beautiful.

Perfect Stay for Us

The location is wonderful! A very short paddle up the canal to the Weeki Wachee River. We used the canoe and the kayaks Every day we were there. The view from the upstairs balcony is amazing and we enjoyed sitting under the carport with the ceiling fan going too. The house is decorated very cute. We only used one of the beds. It was very comfortable. Everything we needed was in the well-stocked kitchen. The a/c worked good, which is a must in Florida! Be prepared to climb stairs. They weren’t a problem for us, but be aware if you have any mobility issues. It was a wonderful stay and we would stay here again.

Beautiful, peaceful hideaway

We had a wonderful vacation! It was so much fun watching for manatees every day and jumping in the kayak or canoe for trips on the river whenever we wanted! The home was immaculately clean when we arrived. It felt so welcoming! The beds and linens were incredibly comfortable. The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful. I went for morning walks everyday and we spent most of our time outside on the upstairs deck where it truly does feel like you are sitting in a treehouse! We were looking for somewhere away from the spring break crowds and this home truly did fit the bill. You can paddle up the canal to the Weeki Wachee for more people and excitement, but it’s nice being on the canal for peace and quiet when you want that. We had everything we needed to really enjoy our vacation and the kitchen was very well stocked if you plan to cook. Dawn was very responsive to questions and check in and out was super easy. I would say that the only thing that could be improved is that two of the kayaks are older and not in very good shape (missing foot rests, broken seat attachments), so if you are a hardcore kayaker, you might want to bring your own. They are fine for casual use by kids and people who occasionally kayak. But don’t let that deter your from renting here! This house is truly a gem and you will love your stay!

Such a great spot to spend a quick weekend getaway. The property was just as listed, super cute and homey. We brought our own paddle boards so we didn’t use onsite kayaks but there are plenty to spare with life vests available for use.

What a lovely property. It’s so cozy and peaceful. It was just as described with all the amenities. We loved being able to hop in the kayaks from the dock and go down the river. We would definitely stay here again.

Excellent stay

Love this house. Well stocked, spent lots of time on the balcony. Saw manatee, porpoise and turtles. Went kayaking and bike riding. It was a great relaxing week.
