About this property

Water Lovers Retreat: stunning water views - dolphins for neighbors

Welcome to our waterfront open floor plan studio-cottage. Wake to panoramic views of Swansboro and the White Oak River. Fish, kayak, dolphin watch and enjoy the sunrise and sunset from the decks. Easy paddle to Jones, other intracoastal islands and to Swansboro for lunch. A ~15 minute drive will take you to the Emerald Isle beaches or Swansboro to walk the historic district and visit the many shops and restaurants. Updates, additional photos on IG and FB under "Water Lover's Retreat".

The cottage has a well equipped kitchen with multiple small appliances including both Keurig and drip coffee maker, Samsung smart TV, LG combo washer-dryer, ceiling fans, heat pump and Green Egg grill. Originally a WWII army hut, renovated to include vaulted ceilings, loft with twin bed, living, dining area and reclaimed wood floors from local school house.

Parking at rear entrance of cottage off private gravel road.. Kayaks, paddles, life jackets are provided, use at own risk.

Our house is next door and we are available for questions or assistance.

Local Background:
Quiet community with a handful of small cottages built in the early to mid 1900s that are still in use by their families, plus a few newer homes. ~5 minutes to Hwy 58; ~10 minutes to Hwy 24 and Star Hill Golf Club; ~15 minutes to Emerald Isle and Swansboro.

Other Information:
No pets, parties, or children under 13.
A mile long gravel road will take you to the water and the cottage.
Fall hazard from decks to shore/water.
Please wear shoes in water to protect feet from oyster shell cuts
Pier to right of cottage belongs to a neighbor and unavailable to cottage guests for fishing or to moor boats
No space for guest boat/boat trailer

Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Wash, dry and put away dishes, utensils, other kitchen items
Place all used linens on pile on floor for pick up
Turn off lights, adjust AC to 78, heating to 66
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Quiet hours are from 11pm - 7am and includes turning off exterior flood and outdoor lights.
