It was a mixed experience staying at The Gilmore. First the positives - the location can't be beat. Right in the middle of 12 South. Front desk team were really nice and easy to communicate with and responsive when we had issues. And despite being right on 12 South, the rooms were quiet.The not so positives - this building is brand new. It was built to be condos and only recently converted into a hotel/VRBO property. As such, there is only one elevator for the entire building - both guests and staff. And the elevator went out a couple of times during our stay which meant taking the stairs. Okay for us, but wouldn't be ideal for people with mobility issues. And because it was built to be condos, there's no space for the cleaning carts and other related things so they are just bunched up in the parking deck and you have to share the one elevator with the housekeepers. Our room was nice and fresh, but since it was new the TVs hadn't been connected (easy fix once we notified the front desk), there was no hot water for the shower (another fix that was addressed).All things considered, it wasn't a terrible experience. Just would think twice about booking there again until they sort out some of their growing pains.
