Rock Ridge Retreat - Mountain views surround you. Wildlife is abundant & Privacy
Rock Ridge Retreat is located on 10 acres atop a ridge, at the end of a dead-end road, in a rural area just north of Daniel Junction off HWY 191. We are a ¼ mile from the Green River noted for great fly fishing; New Fork Lake is a 15-minute drive; a good sized, quiet, trout filled lake; Jackson is 55 miles; 75 miles to The Grand Tetons; 150 to Yellowstone. Children, Dogs, Horses and Hunters are all welcome.
It is a 2 Bedroom 1 Bath with an additional single trundle bed in the living room. The kitchen is supplied with basic staples of: spices, flour, sugar, starter supply of coffee and paper products. Appliances include Gas Range with grill & oven, Dishwasher, a full sized refrigerator, blender, mixer, coffee maker w/pot or KPod option, toaster. Bedrooms have charging stations. While you relax in the Hot Tub you will enjoy the majestic view of the Wind River Range and will likely see at least one of: Antelope, Mule Deer, Fox, Moose, Elk, Coyote, Badger, Chiseler and Chipmunk.
Horse accommodation options are: stalls, private pasture and indoor arena. On the day of a hunt when you get up in the middle of the night when it is the coldest; a warm lit barn with the horses in stalls, waiting to be saddled, beats the heck out of trying to wrangle them in a strange pasture. Black Jack, my horse will greet you everyday when you call him. He likes scratches, pets and the grass picked from the other side of the fence and handed to him through his fence.
Guests will enjoy a newly constructed walk-out space with amenities including terry cloth robes for the Hot tub, a gas fireplace, gas grill, 2 options for campfires, WIFI, 60" TV. Children can enjoy go-carts if Dad has a strong arm & lots of starter fluid which I will provide. Kids can run free and make as much noise as possible. Additionally. numerous games/board games are supplied for child/adult enjoyment.
I also have a canoe, kayak, 12' water trampoline, raft, float toys, lounge chairs, beach awning and portable BBQ & tables. I am happy to transport it all for a day adventure at "New Fork Lake" if a date is reserved one week before arrival.

The home was relaxing, quiet, and clean. We enjoyed the hot tub each night. The home had all of the essentials and was in a great area to see the surrounding sights.
This host provided the best service and value I have experienced through out all my years of using any sharing economy platform. We will be back next time.

Thank you for the complimentary review. But the greatest compliment to you is you get a free night if you stay 3 nights....and bring more of the best homemade carrot cake on the planet and ALL your lovable dogs including the new lab puppy your husband will surely give you for your birthday!
A Five Star Stay. What an absolute delight to actually feel like I’m being taken care of on vacation. We were greeted with a sweet delight, chocolate cake and ice cream. The amenities were plentiful. The bed comfortable. Attention to detail. Incredible communication and wantingness ti ensure our comfort.
We give this hidden jewel 5 STARS! It felt like staying at a beautiful wild life lodge. It was private, quiet, restful and comfortable, comfortable, comfortable. Judy, our host is warm, helpful, responsive and delightful company. We invited her in for coffee and we are normally aloof. That’s how warm she is. We were relieved at her patience with our 2 little dogs. Saying hello each day to Blackjack was added sweetness and we loved our walks on the Wild Wild Wyoming landscape. The apartment was adorned with stunning wild life photos and we were greeted with home made chocolate chip cookies. Don’t miss this wonderful filled Wyoming experience!
The host, Judy, is amazing! Her hospitality and generosity are something that makes her and her place stand out from the rest. The place is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. The views from the hot tub can’t be beat! The amenities are above and beyond any expectations! If you want to get away, this is the place to go!
This place is fantastic! Honestly, one of the best rentals we’ve ever stayed in. The ground-floor, two-bedroom apartment is spotless and thoughtfully furnished throughout. Everything feels brand new, from the appliances to the incredibly comfortable beds, and the living room is spacious enough for a family of four to relax in the evenings. Outside, there is a fire pit, a hot tub, and even a stable home to Black Jack, the host’s horse, all set against a beautiful mountain backdrop. Judy is a wonderful host, welcoming and attentive, and truly dedicated to making your stay as comfortable as possible. We were only here for two nights, but I'm already making plans of visiting again in the summertime.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay and cannot say enough good things about this property and host. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The home was exceptionally clean and it was clear that great care is taken to maintain every detail.
The property itself had everything we could possibly need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. From well-stocked essentials to thoughtful touches throughout, it felt like a home away from home. Every space was inviting, organized, and perfectly prepared for guests.
What truly made this experience stand out, though, was the host. She was incredibly accommodating, responsive, and genuinely committed to making sure we had the best stay possible. She went above and beyond in ways that did not go unnoticed, making us feel welcomed and cared for throughout our visit.
We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful, comfortable, and seamless getaway. It’s rare to find a place that checks every box, but this one certainly does.
We have stayed at many places and most of them are good/fine, do the job. You go to the next, it’s good, you give it a 5 star review and move on. Now that I have stayed at Judy’s I have come to realize how much better all those other places could have been. WOW, me and my 3 kids walked into a cute, immaculate maintained space. And very comfortable. We were treated by a plate of fresh baked cookies which was really nice to have after our very long drive. What sets Judy apart from everyone else is all the little touches and considerations. I already mentioned the cookies, the kitchen equipment is good stuff, all stainless, a big stove and oven, a very expensive coffee maker / espresso machine, even a trashcan that opens by itself. Big TV, bathrobes for everyone in the family, portable fan, nice big table for the family to eat at, comfortable beds.Outside you have the hot tub, blackjack the horse (kids loved blackjack, and feeding him oats), the go cart, cooking s’mores over the fire, and just the beautiful view. Great fun, so much fun we stayed an extra day. Judy is a great host, she is right there when you need her but is not looking to hang around, as in she will let you have your privacy. That said, you might not want her to. She showed my kids so many wonderful things they would never see in the city, and that was from them going and bugging her. What a wonderful time we had and a wonderful host.
The arrival to Rock Ridge Retreat was absolutely welcoming and beautiful! With cookies, healthy snacks & a s'mores basket ready & waiting for the kids at the entry, we knew we were in for some fun! My kiddos sought out the owner & we were all pleasantly surprised with her kindness & hospitality! As well as her creativity for fun activities for everyone! Between Black Jack, sledding, snow playing, campfires & dips in the hot tub, we were never bored and always in safe, watchful company!!
We were surprised at how short the drive is to Pinedale, a quick drive and you're in the center of town! Rock River Retreat is perfectly located for a nice, out of the bustle get away, but close enough to access anything Pinedale has to offer.
Although we didn't bring our puppers, there was a nice space with a comfy bed and bowls had she come along! The entire house is IMMACULATELY kept and the most comfortable rental we've ever been in! With 2 adults & 4 kiddos, everyone had more than adequate space, as well as enough beds (super comfortable ones at that!!) for everyone to have a peaceful night's rest!
This is going to be one of our forever places that we will continue to return to every year, AT LEAST once!
I’ve stayed in a lot of rentals, and it’s rare to find a place that feels this intentional. Every detail in this home was thoughtfully considered in a way that made it not just beautiful, but deeply comfortable. I’m usually someone who struggles to sleep in new environments, but this space was incredibly peaceful, I slept better here than I have in a long time. The kitchen deserves special mention, it’s one of the most well-equipped and well-designed I’ve ever used. Every tool, appliance, and small detail was there, exactly where you’d hope it would be. It made cooking feel effortless and enjoyable.Judy has created something truly special here, and that warmth extends beyond the home itself. Buddy and Buster were a delightful welcoming pair! Blackjack was such a wonderful highlight! The most friendly horse I’ve ever come across, it is such a treasure to see him throughout the day and will come over for pets the moment you call him. I really appreciate everything Judy has done to make this a perfect place to relax. Animals and humans alike! Between the fire pit, grill, and hot tub overlooking stunning views, there was no shortage of ways to relax and take it all in. Every part of the experience felt elevated yet easy. This stay was nothing short of spectacular. It’s the kind of place you don’t just visit, you remember it and want to come back!

Thank you for the great review. You guys were enjoyable to have as guests and I hope to see you again.
Nicely remodeled lower level quarters. It was very clean and cozy. Host was very nice, easy to communicate with, and provided the most excellent hospitality! The cookies were such a thoughtful touch as well. Thank you so much
We had a great stay at this location with beautiful views of the high peaks of the Wind River Range to the west (out the windows as well as from the deck and jacuzzi). There is a lot of open land in all directions for good sight lines and relaxation, but there are neighbors in this rural area so you don't feel "all alone." It's a short and enjoyable drive into Pinedale. Well stocked and appointed. Lots of thoughts and details went into the design. The owner is extremely helpful and kind.
Our trip started off great when we walked into the house to fresh baked cookies. The kitchen and house was well supplied, beds were comfy, and the horse Blackjack was super cool. Communication with the host was quick and effective. We drove to the Grand Tetons everyday and it was an easy and beautiful hour and a half drive. This place was perfect for our stay and our money was well spent.
