This cozy, light-filled studio cottage is located in my back yard and features double french doors that open onto a lush garden filled with roses and wisteria. The main room has a queen-sized bed, a large skylight, a desk, and a closet. The mini-kitchen has a fridge + freezer, microwave, induction hot plate, and an electric kettle. The spacious bathroom has a walk in shower — I probably spent days picking out the tile!
If you like walking and the outdoors, you'll love our neighborhood! We're located two blocks from a market, cafe, butcher, pizzeria, cheese shop and sushi restaurant, an outdoor, heated city-run pool, tennis courts, and a track.
A couple of blocks in the other direction is Solano Ave, which offers an even broader range of restaurants, from Thai to Mediterranean to Himalayan and more.
If you have a car, you're just a short drive from hiking, biking and running trails in Tilden Park or miles of shoreline by the San Francisco Bay.

The neighborhood is beautiful, location great, pet acceptance wonderful. I know it’s a hot location but it did feel like a pretty high price for a tiny backyard cabin. The yard was very overgrown and untidy so you couldn’t use it or sit outside, so that would have helped it feel like more of a fair value.
Very clean and modern studio in a peaceful garden setting. It suited my needs perfectly. The host provided timely, accurate, and convenient information about the cottage.
Clean space with welcoming host in a great location. I stayed for several days, doing a mix of remote work and visiting family and friends. I loved the focus on sustainability - easy to not only recycle, but also compost - and the walkable proximity to businesses (easy 10ish minutes to coffee, food, other shopping). Host made sure I was comfortable and was available to answer questions or assistance if needed.
Great location, clean room, sweet garden setting with the smell of spring blossoms. Nice shower, comfortable bed.It does not need to be this basic. We got one guest towel and had to text and ask in person for a second towel which was stiff and scratchy. There is a small rickety table in the corner with a very soiled chair. That and a bed is all. There are some small quaint vintage folding chairs in the patio, but not strong enough to hold my sweetie. He sat on a wooden bench. The picinc table where we could have had our coffee had an overgrown lemon tree that obscured the table, so it was unusable. The heater seemed to be on a basic setting that we could not turn off, so the room was a bit too warm-we kept all the windows open and used the fan to move the air.No paper towels or rags to clean up with. The mini fridge was 1/2 full of other people's food and a coke can froze and exploded all over during the night. I had no way to clean it up, even though it was not my mess to begin with. There was a used toothbrush and small slivers of old bars of soap that could have been thrown away. I would have given 5 stars if the host made a simple trip to a thrift store to get some towels, a small round table and 2 chairs, plus stocking some paper towels and throwing away other guests used items. Plus trimming the lemon tree to give access to the table. I hope she does these simple fixes, this is a charming cottage.
I was born in California, but grew up in Chicago and Washington, D.C. I love to travel, and to meet new people around the world. I speak conversational Spanish, German, Cantonese, and French and have traveled to 5 out of 7 of the world's continents.
