Peaceful, private, fully air conditioned cabana with ocean view on the reef side. Have coffee or a cocktail on the veranda and enjoy the Caribbean ocean breeze!

The Gumbo Limbo – Go Slow Cabana is a lovely cabana made with local hardwoods and charming decor. With a partial view of the reef and Caribbean Sea from the deck and the trade winds cooling the house, the cabana is perfect for singles or couples. This rental is not oceanfront, but only steps from the water.

This great little self contained cabana is only a short walk from the village, yet far enough away to enjoy real peace and quiet. We are new to VRBO, but have many reviews on other popular booking websites (Super-Host status).

The cabana offers a semi-secluded accommodation experience and comes with owners dedicated to ensuring your stay is comfortable. Ideal for 1 or 2 people seeking a tropical hideaway, the cabana is situated 65 feet from the beach. Access to the beach is easy thru a gated fence in the small adjacent lot.

The Gumbo Limbo Go Slow Cabana features a separate bedroom with double bed and AC. Private bath with hot and cold water. Lounge area and Kitchenette with fridge, microwave and 2 burner hot plate. Private balcony with hammock and chairs and an outdoor grill plus complimentary bikes and WIFI make this little cottage a terrific value.

There are many golf cart taxis on the island or you have complimentary bikes to ride. Also, it is only a 10 min. walk to the village.

We respect your privacy but are always available if you need something.

If you require more than one room, please check our other three rentals on the property. In addition to the Go Slow Cabana, the “Gumbo Limbo – Aria Kat Art Cabana“, the “Gumbo Limbo’s Dreaded Grape”, and “The Gumbo Limbo Sea-Esta Studio Apartment” will provide for all the space that you need for a vacation with family and friends!

Perfect location

We loved our stay at Gumbo Limbo, it was the perfect little private getaway, just close enough to restaurants for an easy walk, but away from the hustle and bustle, and just steps from lounging on the beach with morning coffee or a book!

Gumbo Limbo just outside the bustle

Clean, quiet, and close enough to be right there, but just outside the more (relatively) bustling areas of Caye Caulker. The provided bicycles made it easy to get anywhere quickly, no need for a golf cart! Thanks Ben and Aria.

Very relaxing with perfect hosts!

The cabana is part of 2 others on the property located on the quieter side of the the small island. The property has a communal area to talk to other guests and a bbq. Direct access to the sea is provided though the adjacent lot. It was like being directly on the beach. Ben and Aria, the hosts, are friendly and helpful, providing anything you need. Thank you both for a lovely time!

Go Slow Cabana

Great experience, hosts Aria and Ben couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. Great vibes at this place very relaxing. Town just a short bike ride to restaurants, dive shops and grocery. Had a wonderful time, gonna miss them and Shadow and Tito.

Overall good experience

Pros: felt super safe staying there, air conditioning in bedroom, Ben and Aria were super friendly, beers available to buy on property which was convenient, perfect size place for two, nice access to “beach” Cons: about a 20 minute walk from The Split location wise (we would have liked being closer to that side now that we know the geography of the island), if you’re not a dog person one of the on property dogs loves to jump up on you (very friendly, just not trained yet), no true beach nearby…if you want to swim you’ll have to find a dock to swim off of Overall: was lovely staying there, would recommend.

We will make your stay as amazing as we can!

We live on the Gumbo Limbo Property and we can either be available for a cocktail and a chat, or you will hardly see us at all – up to your preference.

However, we will always be available for questions and to attend to your needs.

We have 2 dogs on the property. A 7-year old Old English Sheepdog mix named Shadow (aka Fuzzy Butt), and Tito (aka "Dumbo Limbo") our 4-months old "Belizean Potlicker". If you like dogs, you will love those two fuzzies!

Why they chose this property

The Gumbo Limbo is in the perfect location on the island. Not far from the hustle and bustle of the village, yet far enough to enjoy peace and quiet and only steps from the ocean.
