Reed Outer Banks Vacation
The location is fantastic with the access to the sound and local bird populations literally flying over and around you all the time. Close proximity to the lower Island (Hatteras) and mid Island (Avon) are also very good. Couple that with possibly the best weather we've ever had led to one of the most enjoyable and memorable vacations our family has ever had.

Osprey Landing 2022
We loved our stay at Osprey Landing. The location is great -- not far from Hatteras village or Avon so very easy to explore much of the island. We enjoyed the privacy and watching the wildlife, especially the deer and the many varieties of birds, including osprey, hawks, and herons.
Osprey Landing is exactly as advertised on VRBO... The property exceeded our expectations. Our family enjoyed the private sound access and the large yard was a bonus for our K-9!! We hope to rent again!

Great vacation
Great view of the sound, lots of yard for our dog to play in. Clean home, but wish they had not removed the couch and substituted two chairs in the living room. But, this is our fourth time staying there and we will rent again.

Needs taken better care of.
I love the seclusion of this house. Big yard and very quiet.
The house was comfortable we had 6 people. The view was extraordinary it has a pier to the waters edge and you could walk out into the water quite far they supply 3 kayaks and beach chairs. It’s location while secluded and away from the congested beach there was a food lion and Conner’s market

Great soundfront home
Our family of 5 stayed at Osprey landing and had a great time. There was plenty of room for our 12, 13, and 14 year old. The kayaks were nice, and our son loved fishing everyday out the back door. He even caught a sting ray, which was an adventure. We especially loved the quieter surroundings, but yet close enough to stores, mini golf etc. There was a new house being built, but the workman were quiet and it didn't bother us. However we were not aware of this when we booked. I only hope the water access remains private in the future. All in all great house, and bang for your buck. We'll definitely be back!

Lovely home with fantastic view
Great house with bedrooms and bath on first level and living rooms on second. Both beds had luxury mattresses that we loved. One bath had a tub and the other had a shower. The deck overlooks Albermarle sound and teems with wildlife. Top of the line washer and dryer and Kerurig coffee maker. The only drawback for us was that the couches were not as comfy as the rest of the furniture. Location in Frisco made north and south travel on the Cape very easy.

Would have been a 5 except for the bathrooms
The online description does not mention that the 2nd bathroom is on the top floor off the kitchen and not down on the first level with the 3 bedrooms. The way the pictures are oriented, it appears that the bathroom is next to the bedroom, but it is actually up one flight of stairs.

Nice house, no longer private
The house itself was very nice; clean, tastefully furnished with a well stocked kitchen. Great location close to Frisco public beach and Ocracoke ferry terminal.
My omly complaint is the "secluded location" mentioned in the listing is no longer accurate as a new house is being built in the back yard. There was a 6 man construction crew on site every day from 8am until dark Monday through Saturday. Because these guys were literally in our backyard all day and all evening, we didn't feel comfortable using the hot tub which was one of the main reasons we chose this house. Nor could we access the private sound front beach, as advertised, because of the swampy nature of the ground (deep standing water) out back made it impossible to access the boardwalk leading to the water.

Thank you for sharing your feedback about your recent stay, Susanne. I’m delighted to hear that you found the house to be nice, clean, and well-furnished, and that you enjoyed the great location near Frisco public beach and the Ocracoke ferry terminal.
I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you experienced due to the construction in the backyard and the inaccuracy regarding the secluded location. I understand how frustrating it must have been to have a construction crew nearby, especially when you were looking forward to using the hot tub. Additionally, I regret that the standing water prevented you from accessing the private sound front beach as advertised.
Your feedback is incredibly valuable, and I will ensure that our team addresses these concerns to improve the experience for future guests. Thank you for your understanding, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for a more enjoyable stay in the future!
The property was just as described. We loved the "isolated" feel in this popular vacation spot. The yard and private boardwalk to the sound side provided a surprising respite from other vacationers each time we returned from our day trips throughout the outer banks. The home provided two couples with plenty of space and comfort. We appreciated the on site washer/dryer, outside shower/hose, and massive wrap around decks. The two bathrooms are separate from the bedrooms, but we did not mind not having a master suite. The hottub was sparkling clean; the steps to access it could use a railing and additional support. A storm (possibly Ian) had blown the dock from the boardwalk down at the sound side beach area. And the ice maker did not work; no ice trays in the otherwise well stocked kitchen. This is an older home, well furnished, with a beautiful view of the sound side. It's just a few minutes drive to beach access, restaurants, and a convenience store. We would definitely stay here again. It's an amazing vacation home.

Very Private Beautiful Location
My husband and I loved the privacy of the Osprey Landing Vacation rental Home. The view is truly relaxing and was beautiful no matter the weather. No traffic noises and the wildlife make you feel like you're very far away from the hustle and bustle . We did see a deer and many types of birds. Many fish jumping in the sound. The home is beautifully taken care of and Great appliances at hand. The furniture inside and on the decks was plentiful and comfy. Nice to have the towels and linens there also. Lots of windows to take in the beautiful view. The home has plenty of space to spread out no matter the number of guests. Love the dining table with room for eight people. Jacuzzi was clean and worked well for relaxing. The three Showers all had super water pressure. Fridge was spacious and clean with water and two ice settings. Plenty of kitchen gadgets, pots , pans and dishes and glassware to prepare and serve gourmet meals. There was plenty of silverware there. We both were sad to leave but happy to have stayed at this location. It was close to all of the places we love every time we visit OBX.

Beautiful property and secluded
Loved the property, lots of room for the dogs and kids to play. We had a blast with the private sound access, cuff and ate crab, caught redfish, oysters etc! House was nice, not as clean as it could have been. Some small things we’ve had at other properties we didn’t have here; extra toilet paper, fish soap, etc, but those are all expenses I would expect to pay for. Biggest frustration and the only reason it isn’t a five star rating is because if Hatteras Property Management. Any communication from check in to maintenance, was little help or urgency for the customer.
We bought groceries Saturday night, went to use the grill Sunday night and it wasn't working. Called in maintenance request Monday and they said they would be out. We are patient so we waited until Wednesday and called again, told again they would be out. Grill never did get fixed. Don’t really love hamburgers, chicken and hot dogs cooked inside on skillet, but we made due.
Overall we would stay again and loved the Frisco/Hatteras area. Hope they get a better property management company.

Great Property, Amazing Sound Views
Loved the place, so did our deaf boxer Ruby. Spacious, private, and convenient to everything on the southern OBX. The deck and hot tub were fantastic. The upstairs living area was nice, open and bright. The master bedroom downstairs was a little tight with a king bed in it. A small floating shelf to function as a nightstand on the wall by the closet would be very helpful so one doesn't have to put their water glass on the floor.
The sound access via short boardwalk was fantastic for sunsets. Its a very small, private little beach that couldn't be nicer. Bring a clam rake!
Suggestions to guests: Often these rentals have stock piles of leftover supplies that past guests have left behind-- oil, vinegar, odd spices, foil, trash bags, etc. Not here. Its very bare. There are basic appliances, dishes and pots & pans.... including a cast iron skillet which was very nice. But if you like to cook, bring your favorite prep stuff. Bring your knives and decent cutting board; the glass cutting boards supplied were pretty obnoxious. Otherwise, Conner's Market is a short drive away and has most of the kitchen and laundry sundries you'll need.
Oh, and also the laundry room key works, its just the knob sticks from salt air exposure, I guess. We had to drive to the HR Office to get another key to try. Ultimately they both worked.
So, in conclusion, if you're in the mood for an alternative to oceanfront but still want some great views and private water access, this place is great.

Don't miss this gem of a home!
We just had the most perfect week of vacation in this beautiful home. It has been recently updated with fresh furnishings and design that are really, really lovely and give a more modern feel to this still-traditional Hatteras home. The wraparound porches, outdoor shower, hot tub, and Adirondack chairs all give you that classic OBX beach house feel. But the fresh white paint inside, pretty white ceiling fans, chic couches and giant family table with 8 pretty- (and comfy!) chairs make it a joy to spend time inside in the A/C as well. The views from the living room out onto the Sound are amazing- you feel like you are floating in the sky and the colors of the water, marsh and lush greenery are wonderful. I think I spend the majority of my time on the top deck- from first coffee to last sunset light...it was just perfect. There is a sense of real privacy in this house as well, and strolling over the private walkway over the marsh to the soundside sandy beach is beautiful. The house is very well outfitted with 4 kayaks, sheets/bath towel service, fast internet, excellent air-conditioning, and a seriously stocked kitchen. Any bowl, pan, tool, cutting board etc that you might need is at hand's reach. You will need to bring your own expendables like soap, shampoo, etc. The beds and pillows are ridiculously comfortable. The carpets and dressers are brand new. So nice! As for location- it is super close to stores, beach access, restaurants and ice cream shops...but when you turn down the driveway and cross the little bridge...it is so serene and peaceful you feel miles away from it all. I could go on and on, but I will leave it at this- rent this place! It's wonderful!
