Wonderful hosts who went out of their way to make us feel at home. Lovely home with beautiful artwork and excellent breakfasts. We would definitely stay there again.
Beautifully renovated cozy home. Bea and David are wonderful hosts. Bea’s lovely home cooked breakfasts kept us full all day. We even got a packed lunch for a day when we were leaving early to go on a tour. Their local knowledge was very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. 100% recommendation staying at the Artist Residence
Wonderful stay! Bea and David were the most nurturing and accommodating hosts. The room was adorable and immaculately cleaned every day. The breakfast was so fresh and delicious. They went above and beyond to make sure I was cared for and had everything I needed for the trip. Bea even packed me a breakfast to take to the airport since I had an early flight. The garden and view of the bay were also spectacular. Really close to a bus stop as well, so it was very easy to get into town. I am so grateful for my stay here. It was just what I needed!
We booked two nights at the Artist Residence before our departure home after two weeks of travel. The online photos do not capture the beauty and charm of this B&B, nor how warm and welcoming the hosts are. We were able to really unwind in the peaceful garden setting and in our well appointed room. Breakfast each morning was so special and delicious, and kept us fueled until dinner. Thank you, Bea and David for a lovely ending to our first trip to Ireland.
We feel so fortunate to have found this remarkable place. Our hostess was beyond helpful and the attention to detail amazing. (I have to mention the lovely linens!) My only regret is that our schedule didn’t allow us enough time to just relax and enjoy. Can’t recommend highly enough. Thank you again to our hostess!
My wife and I chose this location to be near Dublin without too much City “noise”. We were so happy with our choice. Our hosts were the perfect balance of attentive & respectful of our privacy. The location was the perfect base to explore so many activities in Dublin, Howth, swords and many attractions in the area. Our room was cozy and very clean with an artists rustic charm. The lounge area and dining room were Irish Country with wonderful options for reading and games if you desired. Breakfast was outstanding!!! Highly recommend this property and especially our Hosts.

Sweet couple and place
Lovely couple and B&B. PLEASE NOTE the listing is not for the house, but for a ROOM in the house. If you're viewing on VRBO you may be mislead in thinking this is more than one room. However, if you're looking for a room - this rental room had an updated sh Shower and toilet. Nice view and common sitting room with fireplace and TV. Heated blankets for chilly winter night!
The house was amazing and the hosts were fantastic. Breakfast’s were hot, plentiful and fabulous. Bea and David were very gracious hosts.
All the amenities you need for a great stay and more. Sitting in the front garden to relax and have an afternoon glass of wine. Enjoy Bea’s delicious treats. And did I mention the amazing breakfasts. Fresh baked goods fill the house with a wonderful aroma to awake to. Fresh fruit from the garden or locals. A huge traditional Irish breakfast with more fresh baked goods or the special of the day. Or just go basic and try her porridge, which is tasty and filling for a long day of touring.
Can’t go wrong with any thing at this great BnB. We will be back in the future.
My words cannot properly describe the amazing experience my wife and I had at The Artist Residence (AR). Begonia and David are the wonderful hosts of the AR. They alone, make any stay at AR an event you will remember for a lifetime.
Begonia is an incredible artist and her taste in decoration, furniture and gardening make you feel so welcome and comfortable. Her breakfasts are other-worldly. Her afternoon snacks make you want to get back ASAP each day. And David’s hand-pressed coffee is the best we’ve ever tasted across the globe…no exaggeration!
Each room is terrific and uniquely different in its own perfect way. We stayed in “Stella’s Room.” With the windows open, the breeze from the sea and quiet made all my stress disappear.
The Breakfast Room is probably my favorite room of all time. I could sit in it and relax for hours, just drinking coffee and learning about the truly incredible history of AR, Uncle Hugh, and all Begonia and David accomplished bringing this beautiful cottage back to life.
AR is located close to Howth and Malahide, only a few bus stops away. Dublin is an easy train ride away as well.
Begonia, David and the AR represent the absolute best of Ireland. When we think of our trip to Ireland, they are the first and best memories we have.
We will return to Ireland just to stay at AR and spend wonderful hours visiting with Begonia and David again. Do not miss out on staying at The Artist Residence. - Andy & Kim
Our trip to Dublin didn't really go as expected, but in all the uncertainty, the Artist's Residence was a haven. We ended up arriving very late (or early), but because the hosts are so easy to communicate with, they knew we were delayed and everything was ready for us to check in without disturbing anyone. It was so nice to have a warm bed in a quiet room waiting for us after a long, long day. The hosts are warm and welcoming, the house and grounds are lovely, the rooms are quiet, cozy, and comfortable, and the breakfasts are DIVINE. There's a commuter train line into the heart of Dublin only 10 minutes walk away, so getting around is really easy. We were very sorry that our trip was only two days and we're already making plans to go back!
I can not reccomend The Artist Residence enough! During our stay, my boyfriend (now fiance!) proposed to me at the pergola in the beautiful garden overlooking the Irish Sea! Once Begona and David learned of the plan, they jumped right in to make sure it was the perfect moment!
Aside from all that excitement, the B&B was amazing. The bedrooms are comfortable and beautifully decorated to include fresh flowers, the cottage and grounds are beautiful and serene, and the breakfast is amazing! We loved the full Irish breakfast and Uncle Hugh's irish pancakes!
Finally, the hospitality and service Begona and David extended to us was excellent. It was the best we experienced on our trip throughout Ireland!
Thanks again Begona and David, for helping to make this trip unforgettable. We can't wait to return to the Artist Residence!

Wunderbar!

Delightful B&B
On our last night in Ireland, we were very fortunate to discover such a delightful place to stay. Begona and David are superb hosts. Our charming room afforded us a lovely view, facing the ocean/bay in North Dublin. There are many attentions paid to detail in this B&B. It is situated very close to the quaint fishing village of Howth and right around the corner from the Elfin Pub, both of which we visited. We had a scrumptious breakfast ... so much delicious food! This property is situated about 29 minutes away from Dublin airport, which worked very well for getting to our flight. Thank you Begona and David for such a lovely stay. Sharon and John Schenkel

It was a cozy and beautiful property with fantastic and helpful owners and staff.
This was by far the best place we will be staying on or trip to Europe and it was the first stop. Very convenient to both bus and dart. It is a short, and cheap, ride into Howth and Dublin. The owners and staff are phenominal. They helped my girlfriend and I through every part of our stay in Ireland. The breakfast was one of the best meals we had in Ireland. I hope to get back soon and highly reccomend it to anyone looking for a scenic and relaxing place to stay.

We loved it, Dave and Begona treated us like family more than guests. It was welcoming and they went above and beyond. It was the best holiday that we have been on. Also the people of Ireland were fantastic, hope to come back again in the near future!
