Less than an hour from Minneapolis, the Loondocks is a sun-soaked, pet-friendly hideout on beautiful Big Eagle Lake. Natural stone steps (NOTE: These are uneven, so do not book if you have mobility concerns!) lead down to the bungalow-style house, a stylish bunkhouse, wood-burning sauna, spacious deck with lake views, and flat waterfront yard. Sip coffee and watch the sunrise, lay out a towel at the end of the dock, or share a meal with the whole family! This is the perfect all-season getaway.
With a master king, three queen beds, and three twins, Loondocks guests can bring the whole family! The Loondocks property also includes a beautifully updated bunkhouse, designed with families in mind, and a wood-burning sauna. Equipped with a canoe, paddle boards, Apple TV, a great collection of kitchen supplies, and kid & dog-friendly features, Loondocks has everything you'd ever need.

Wash all dishes and put away.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

We’re Mary and Jay—parents of three boys and lovers of all things outdoors. Jay is originally from Minnesota and Mary is from Utah. We currently live in Colorado. When we are at the lake house, you can find us making pancakes, fishing off the dock, and enjoying slow mornings by the water. Hosting lets us share the peaceful, nostalgic charm of this cabin with other families and friends.

The cabin is nestled in a quiet, wooded neighborhood right on Eagle Lake. It feels like a true Up North pocket—easygoing neighbors, wide-open sky, and the kind of quiet you can feel. We enjoy the simple things most: watching wildlife wander through, taking the sauna as the sun sets, and unplugging from the busy world for a while.

Our cabin is one of the few on Eagle Lake with a traditional wood-fired sauna just steps from the door. It’s a guest favorite—especially after a cold plunge off the dock or a sunset paddle.
