What a beautiful and relaxing home! The photos do not do it justice! We LOVED the folding patio doors so we could listen to the stream and the rain outside. The entire setup worked great for our adult family of five.
Great property with huge doorway opening to hear the babbling brook in the background all day. You could tell it had recently been remodeled and upgraded. The only complaint was the hot water had a stinky "sulfur" smell to it.

Thank you for your review! We’re so glad you enjoyed the property, especially the beautiful sounds of the river. The home is on a well, so occasionally the hot water can develop a temporary sulfur smell when it has been sitting. Running the hot water for several minutes will typically flush it through and clear the odor. We appreciate the feedback and wish we had known during your stay so we could have helped!
We spent four nights here with our three boys and absolutely loved it. The house is about 18 minutes outside of Durango, and the drive into town is incredibly easy. You get the best of both worlds—close enough to enjoy Durango whenever you want, but far enough out to feel like you’ve really gotten away. The setting is hard to beat. The Florida River is literally right out the back door, and the back doors of the house open completely onto the deck and river. We spent our mornings drinking coffee on the deck in the crisp air, watching the river and the wildlife. Our boys caught trout right behind the house, which was easily one of the highlights of the trip. The house itself is beautiful. The furnishings are upscale but still comfortable, the bathrooms are stunning, and the kitchen and house were very well equipped. The bunk room was perfect for our boys and gave them their own space. It’s also very secluded, with only one neighboring home nearby, so it has a peaceful country feel without sacrificing any of the comforts of a really nice home.Between the river, the wildlife, fishing with the kids, mornings on the deck, and such a beautiful place to come back to each evening, this was exactly what we hoped for in a Colorado getaway. We would absolutely stay here again.
