About the host
Hosted by Peggy Palmer
My husband and I are both artists, and we love living in Statesville because it has a creative, welcoming spirit that feels bigger than a small town. The local music and arts scene is lively—thanks in part to the Iredell Arts Council—and there’s almost always something happening downtown, from gallery events to live music at local cafés and bars.
What we love most is the friendly vibe. When you go downtown, people genuinely want to know your name. It’s the kind of place where the bartender remembers you, the shop owners strike up a conversation, and a couple of the bars feel like you’ve stepped onto the set of Cheers.
Hosting allows us to share that sense of community and the beauty of our town with others. We hope you enjoy Statesville as much as we do. We are new to VRBO, although we own multiple long-term rental properties with happy tenants.

Why they chose this property
We love Statesville, North Carolina
Statesville is a charming, historic small city known for its friendly community, beautiful parks, and easy accessibility to the best of the Piedmont region. Just north of Charlotte and nestled where I-40 and I-77 meet, Statesville offers the perfect blend of convenience and relaxed Southern living.
Guests enjoy a vibrant, walkable downtown with locally owned restaurants, cafés, breweries, boutiques, and art galleries—many just minutes from the home. The city hosts popular events throughout the year, including festivals, outdoor concerts, and the world-famous Carolina BalloonFest.
Nature lovers appreciate the extensive park system, scenic greenways, and nearby Lake Norman. For day trips, Charlotte, Hickory, Asheville, and the Blue Ridge Mountains are all within easy reach.
Whether you're here for work, travel, or transition, Statesville offers comfort, culture, and a welcoming sense of community.

What makes this property unique
We love how peaceful and tucked away this home feels. It sits on a quiet, low-traffic cul-de-sac with friendly neighbors and almost no street noise—perfect for relaxing mornings or winding down in the evening. The backyard opens directly onto beautiful Mac Anderson Park, and the private gate lets you step right onto the walking trails for a stroll under the trees, a picnic, or a breath of fresh air without ever getting in the car.
The deck overlooks the park, so you can sip coffee while watching the sun come through the woods or enjoy an evening breeze at the end of the day. It’s rare to find a place this close to nature while still being only minutes from downtown, and that blend of convenience and serenity is what makes the property truly special.
We live walking distance from this home and are very helpful and knowledgeable about Statesville.
