The guest house was good. The sitting area was comfortable, as was the bed.The bath facility was clean. The parking area was under a pine tree, which dripped sap on my car. Is parking allowed on the street? The three stone steps in the middle of the path would have been a serious impediment to my wife if she had come. That should have been pictured/ mentioned so guests could be aware. The tv operated with difficulty. More detailed instructions would have been helpful. Finally, some usable lawn chairs would have allowed me to sit out before dusk.

Thank you for the feedback, all of which we will incorporate! You must not have stepped out to the private back porch which has a swing set to enjoy the outdoors as well as lawn chairs and a fire pit. We will add more pictures of the front and back areas of the guesthouse. The TV allows access to streaming services, and we will certainly include instructions to help clarify. Thank you again for the suggestions and for staying with us. It was a pleasure having you, sir!

Very peaceful, rural setting. Quiet. Unit is very dated. Bathroom sink drain is very slow, fills up fast. Linens are old and dingy. Mattress was stained. Pillows are old and very flat. Musty odor in unit. Anyone with allergies would suffer greatly. Unit had no heat in 40 degree temperatures outside. No extra blankets were available. Trash in the bathroom was full upon arrival. Unit did not appear to have been cleaned.

Sheila, thank you for your feedback. We take pride in our home and genuinely welcome constructive input, so we'd like to address your points for the benefit of future guests.
The unit was set to 65°F upon arrival, following a stretch of 85° temperatures the week prior. The thermostat is fully adjustable by guests to suit your preferences and comfort.
Regarding cleanliness — our pre-arrival inspection and post-departure walkthrough both confirmed the unit was clean and the trash bin was empty. We have been consistently and exclusively praised for cleanliness by our guests, so we were genuinely surprised by this characterization.
Your stay coincided with a severe, multi-day thunderstorm which brought significant humidity to the area. We are surrounded by lush rural New England landscape, which is part of the charm, but can be a factor for guests with sensitivities to pollen or changes in humidity. These are environmental conditions outside the unit that we unfortunately cannot control.
Extra blankets, linens, towels, and additional pillows were all available in the closet throughout your stay.
The unit has been freshly painted and updated with new appliances. We take care to represent it honestly and accurately in our listing, and guests consistently describe it as bright and charming with classic New England character — though we understand that aesthetic is a matter of personal taste.
We have shared your comments with our housekeeping team as we always do, and we wish you well in your future travels.
