Our family of 8 recently spent 10 days here while our house underwent some remodeling. We had plenty of room and enjoyed kayaking on the lake. It is close to the grocery stores too.
The listing is very accurate. If you want a nice place to stay, somewhat off beaten path and like the ease of keeping a boat right on the water this is a great choice. Plenty of room to spread out, comfortable dining room areas as well.
Great place for a weekend fishing trip Very well appointed, clean and comfortable. Dock with 2 slips is perfect. Everything about this place was A+++. We will be back.
Thank you for a great time.
Jack and Jill bathroom shower needed some attention and outside deck had some bad boards. Nothing that kept us from enjoying our time together with family on Thanksgiving. We enjoyed our stay.

Liked: Cleanliness, communication, location
Great place to stay, beautiful views.
The surcharges made the day rate double, and the communication on trying to get the contact for the guy that managed the house was frustrating.
Other than that the house was beautiful and we loved the stay.
We were thrilled to have our on little piece of paradise. It was so quiet and peaceful. My kids spent most of our days on the boat Dock fishing and nights playing family games. It was perfect and just what we needed
It was a great stay to celebrate the new year! The only down fall was that we didn’t know the drive way was slanted as much as it was. We could get our boat parked in the drive way, so we had to park it on the street. Other than that, it was great!
The house was in a nice area. It had a lake behind the house which we came to fish but it was too many lily pads in the lake. I think new furniture is needed that you can be able to wipe off because it was dog hair left on the couches. overall, the place was great for me and my family. Everything else was great.

Nice house for a group
This was a great location and house layout for our group. We loved the big dining table for playing cards and spacious living room. The backyard and huge deck was nice. The lake water was covered in lily pads so we couldn't fish. Bathrooms were very clean, bedroom carpets need cleaning or replaced. Nice washer/dryer. Living room was warm, so we used fans.

GO FISH
If your family likes to gather and fish for a few days, this is the place for you. Large house with lots of room and big dining area. Good kitchen space and appliances. Dock has double boat stall, one good lift, and bank room to tie another boat or pontoon. You can kayak fish in the same arm of the dock and catch fish within 1/4 mile of the house. Local support for the house was exemplary. We'll try to come back again.

Athens Lake Weekend
The house has a good set up for a family that does not want to cook. The kitchen is poorly equipped and disorganized. The dock is overgrown with lily pads so we were afraid to tie up our boat. The house needs a little TLC.
Everything was very good. It was lovely and peaceful. About the price. It says the house is $160 a night. That is misleading. The host fee was almost as much as the 3 nights accommodation. That was my fault. I should have been more careful.

Wonderful, peaceful and private
We thoroughly enjoyed Neal's lakehouse. It was convenient to the boat ramp and quick to get to on boat to keep overnight at his boat house/dock. It was a bit tight backing up the boat trailer in the one lane driveway but wasn't a problem. The house was clean and spacious. We loved the artsy/studio vibe (if that makes sense- a great place for a writer to stay awhile). The beds are comfortable and the linen smell so fresh and clean. The master shower was nice and hot. We enjoyed the patio listening to the variety of birds and watching the squirrels play. Neal is quick to respond! Thanks for sharing your place!
We had an event in Athens, and needed to bring the pups. The house was great! Exactly what we needed space wise and it was right on the water which was a bonus. I wish there was directions on how to use the TVs/ Direct TV/ Cable. We had planned ahead and brought our own fire stick to stream from. I probably could have reached out to the Property Manager to ask about cable, but it didn’t affect our stay. I also wish the primary bedroom had a king bed. It would be great for a big family or even a couple of families to stay. The back yard/ water views were the best part.

Clean up
House is in a great neighborhood. House smells of moth balls. Beds are terrible. Couches in den area are horrible. Deck is nice but needs repair. Boat Dock is scary. Lilly Pads everywhere. Very difficult to fish from and no way would you swim in that stuff. Neal is a nice man and his property location is great. All the homes sorrounding are beautiful. Boat dock area definitely needs to be cleaned up

Hi Gus, we’re glad to hear you enjoyed the neighborhood and the property’s location, but we’re sorry that other aspects of your stay didn’t meet expectations. After sharing your feedback with the homeowner, they’d like to address the following:-They will be working with the cleaning team to address the mothball smell you mentioned.-The couches and mattresses are relatively new.-The boat dock area is kept natural to support the fish habitat; however, the homeowner has decided to do some cleaning up around the lake, including removing some of the lily pads and brush. They also plan to add lighting to the boat dock for added safety.-Additionally, the deck will be getting a fresh coat of paint to improve its appearance.Thank you for sharing your review. Your feedback assists us in understanding our guests' perspectives and improving wherever possible!

Great potential, but run down
The house has great potential: large, good location, on the water, nice layout, big backyard… but it feels unloved and neglected. We watched baseball in the evenings and appreciated the satellite tv. The linens were fine. The kitchen has lots of pots and pans but lacked sufficient dishes, cups, glasses, and cutlery for serving. For the price, it needs some investment from the owners. For example, the paint is peeling on the ceiling of the second bath and the shower faucet diverts half the water pressure to the tub faucet. It’s not at the typical standard we’re used to with vacation rentals.
