My family and I loved this property! We enjoyed the tranquility and all the great relaxation spots like the pool and swings. Laurie was great to work with and was super responsive. We can’t wait to visit again the next time we get together in the area!
Visiting family in Mocksville and found this beautiful property to stay! Spent a lot of time relaxing on the porch and sitting at the pool. Highly recommended, would love to visit again.
We gathered for a celebration of life. It was such a beautiful venue, lots of cool spots to gather and enjoy each other.
Hope we have another occasion to come stay (in warmer weather).
Great fun for 70th birthday party. Family of ten slept nicely for the weekend, and 30 people loved the place for the party. The pool was plenty big. The farm is charming: quiet and pretty.
We were here a year ago.
We all felt so relaxed and enjoyed the character of the property.
Enjoyed hanging out at the pool.
Dining room perfect for our group of 10.
This home and property were even larger and more beautiful than I had imagined! The accommodations were perfect and everything in the home is clean and very well maintained. We had 4 families including 9 adults and 6 children and had plenty of space for all... and then some! We’re considering making this an annual trip and would definitely stay in this home again!
I rented this property for an event and it was hands down one of the nicest venues I have ever rented. Beautiful, a great get away for our group. Comfortable, all the amenities you need for a large group or a family. Laurie was a dream to work with and made everything so easy. Any event I have in NC- I would consider this venue. Beautiful grounds, plenty of room, an extra cottage on the property that can be rented for more guests. 100% I will be back!
Everything we expected!
We wanted a place to stay, unwind, recharge, let loose from life's current challenges. Very private and charming home and property. We had 8 adults and 2 young children. Everyone had their own space. We cooked/grilled every meal. The large pool was our center for fun. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Our son and daughter-in-law were married in the area so our family and her family stayed together at the house. We sponsored the rehearsal dinner there. It was perfect. The house is just as advertised, beautiful and roomy. The outside grounds are gorgeous. It was like being at home. Every attention to detail was thought out. Laurie was awesome to work with. She was so helpful and very attentive to all our needs and questions. We highly recommed this property and will most certainly stay there again.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING
Where do you start with this property. This was a perfect weekend getaway for our girls trip. To start the grounds are absolutely amazing. From the pool to the outdoor eating area and the giant trees and just the peacefulness that the property brings. The house was amazing. Loved all the charm and history of the home and the warmth that it brings when you are there. The pictures of this home do not do it justice!!!! Will absolutely be staying here again. Laurie was very easy to work with and we had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. The beds were comfortable and for an older home we stayed very comfortable with the hot summer. Thank you for making our girls trip a memorable one!!!!
This is a classic farmhouse in a beautiful country setting. It is truly like being in someone's cozy home. We hosted the ladies bridal luncheon here and had the bridesmaid stay here. I would recommend a new coffee maker since it did not work. We made a trip to Starbucks instead! The pool is fabulous although we really didn't use it much due to the wedding activities. There are a lot of personal items of the deceased owners which was a bit odd. Nonetheless, I would love to come back here with family to enjoy this beautiful setting!!!
We were 99.8% happy with the property. The 0.2% was because the coffee maker wasn’t working. The house, pool, and grounds were pristine, beautiful, and luxurious. The pool provided two day’s worth of entertainment. It’s great to watch young cousins playing in the pool but it’s almost magical to watch three generations being silly and playing in the pool. The pictures of the house made me a little worried that our four youngsters would break an expensive antique, but once we got there, there was plenty of room to run outside and maneuver inside without bumping into breakables. Note: the master suite is huge and could easily fit two queen mattresses for kids to sleep on. Thank you for a very memorable reunion!
My wife, my daughter and I spent a very relaxing weekend here, which is just what we were looking for. We're all history lovers, and this house and its property were perfect for us. The house is full of little touches that remind you just how long it's been here, and I found myself often imagining the lives of previous residents and what it must have felt like to grow up here.
We had a power outage our first night there; the 24-hour soaking rain brought down a tree on the road right in front of the house, and it took a power line down with it. It was late at night, and the power (and water) was out for hours, so we actually ended up staying the night at a nearby hotel. The owner was very apologetic (though of course none of this was her fault) and ended up refunding us for that night. This was very gracious and I am very grateful, and certainly a great way to ease the anxiety of having to find a hotel and spend the first night there.
This was overall a fantastic experience; the property is huge and spectacularly beautiful, and isolated enough from the outside world to be serene, yet close enough to be convenient for things such as takeaway from NC barbecue spots. Those are the best in the country!
We loved our time here and will definitely revisit.
Beautiful, historic retreat. Even better than pictured!
This property is absolutely gorgeous and the grounds are beautiful and private. This is a well-equipped and updated historic home. The interior is even more spacious than it appears in pics and there are lots of outdoor spaces where you can gather together or spread out. As others have mentioned, the room with the twin bed is very small and barely fits more than the bed but this was fine for our purposes. The home has been well taken care of and contains all the modern conveniences needed. It's also full of anything you might need from cooking supplies to cards and games. We did not have any issues with the Keurig and there were k-cups available when we arrived. The home is also full of family mementos and antiques but it feels very comfortable and inviting. The pool is very large and private with lounge chairs and seating around the pool. We also loved hanging out on the upstairs and downstairs porches. The home is not located near downtown but nothing it too far away. There are several grocery stores and restaurants a short drive away. We cooked most of meals onsite, but did venture out to a restaurant one night. Overall this is an amazing and unique property. I felt completely honored and lucky to stay in this gorgeous, historic home. This is honestly one of my favorite rentals and I'm completely in love with this place!
Communication, setting of the property and wonderful sitting areas to catch up with friends! We will definitely be coming back.

I am one of 7 children. My brothers and sisters and I inherited this amazing place from our parents. I am the farm manager and love every minute of taking care of it! Throughout my life, until I was an adult we lived in town but we spent every weekend with my family on the farm riding horses, planting gardens, playing, etc. In 1993 My father convinced my mother to renovate the house and move here permanently. It is still a special family gathering space we all enjoy.
