Welcome to Sandy Lakeshores located on the beautiful Lac Courte Oreilles in Hayward Wisconsin!

This privately owned vacation retreat is in a bay with sandy shoreline perfect for swimming and relaxing. On the vacation property there are two cabins, a lakeside cabin and a lake view cabin available for rent. There is a 84 foot dock with ample space for a boat and pontoon.

Lac Courte Oreilles is 5,038 acres in size and is known for its trophy Musky, Northern, Walleye, Bass, and Pan-Fish. Nearby is a small creek from Grindstone Lake that is great for canoeing.

The Hayward area is well known for its many tourist attractions including the Fishing Hall of Fame, Al Capone's Hideout, and various Festivals and activities including the Musky Festival, and the Lumberjack World Championships to name a few. The Hayward area is also referred to as "Golf Capital of Wisconsin" as it is home to many beautiful courses.

Cozy Little Cabins on Sandy Shoreline

Cozy cabins right on the water. Really nice shallow sandy shoreline. Cabins are a bit tight but would work great for smaller groups!

Family Stay

We rented both cabins, since one of our families included a 1 1/2 year old, who needed a quiet atmosphere for naps and bedtime. The Lakeside 2 bedroom cabin worked great for them. The 3 bedroom Lakeview cabin was adequate for my husband and me and our other daughter and her fiancé. Space in the bedrooms is a little tight, kitchen ceiling low and the shower was not usable for 3 of the four adults because my daughter is 6'2", her fiancé and my husband both 6'8". But this is a common issue for us! But the living room, eating area was great. We ended up using the third bedroom for a luggage/ changing room for the 4 of us. The shallow sandy beach was great for our family. We brought our own lily pad, paddleboard, deck boat and tube and had a great time on the waterfront. Enjoyed the gas grill and nice fire pit area, but would have been nice if the was some firewood available. We had to go to town to purchase some. Overall it was a fun five days for our family.

Lake view

We rented the two bedroom cabin which has a lake view and shares a yard, fire pit and pier with the larger cabin. The only lake access is the pier. There are beds for 5-6 people, but would be uncomfortable with more than 3 adults. It was overcrowded with excess furniture and furnishings. If remove, it would be more functional. The only heat source is a gas fireplace in the living area, but we found no heat in the bedrooms or bathroom. The weather was cold during our stay, so those rooms were chilly. The location felt secure with several neighboring properties. There were several fees in addition to a sizable security deposit (fully refunded after about 3 weeks). The owner was very responsive.

Family vacation on LCO

Great lake and swim area. Good fishing. Allowed our 3 dogs, which was great. Too close to the busy road for little kids and dogs. Way too little space to prep and cook, especially the 3 bedroom's tiny kitchen. Hard to maneuver in all bedrooms with suitcases. Beautiful view of the lake and full moon!!
