Take a step back in time in this meticulously restored, quaint, historic home a short walk to hiking trails and the Haw River. Part of the Glencoe Mills restored village, the home is one of 30 original Mill Homes built in 1880. A short drive to Elon University, home is centrally located between Greensboro and Chapel Hill.
This getaway is an inviting 3-bedroom home just steps from the Haw River. From the front porch, you can hear the gentle flow of the water, a soothing backdrop to your stay. Inside, you’ll find a cozy queen bed and full bath on the first floor; a comfortable full bed at the top of steep stairs on the second floor through which you have access to a 3rd bedroom and shared bathroom. We have 3 twin beds in the 3rd room, making the space ideal for families or small groups.
We also have a relaxing claw foot bathtub and sink in the bedroom at the top of the stairs. With both heating and AC, and a charming small playground for kids just down the street, the home stays comfortable in every season. The Haw River Trail and Haw River Paddle Trails (a 70 mile Mountain to Sea beautifully maintained conservation trail), a is at the foot of our street. We also welcome you to take advantage of the two included kayaks for a peaceful paddle on the river. Steeped in history and surrounded by nature, this historic quaint Glencoe retreat invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and recharge in a truly unique restored village setting.
