About Neil Malcolm
We commenced this house as a holiday let in June 2018. We are skiers and snowboarders. We used to day trip from Melbourne to Mt Buller but it was a long day there and back and it gets very tiring doing it every weekend. We thought about buying an apartment in Mt Buller but the reality is you cannot take your dogs there. In the end, we resolved the best compromise was a house in town where we could bring the dogs and use it as a base for all our mountain adventures. In addition, the house is also conveniently located to numerous other areas and activities such as the rail trail, wineries, markets, not to mention Lake Eildon and all it has to offer as a summer destination for fishing, boating and water skiing. The name Stirling Croft comes about due to synergies between our Scottish heritage and nearby Mt Stirling. In Scotland, a croft is a small fenced area of land used for growing crops with a crofter's dwelling.
