Settled on a 1/2 acre in the seaside town of Jan Juc on the Surf Coast of Victoria, gateway to the Great Ocean Road. The Summer House Torquay is an extensively renovated homestead, it features quaint, nostalgic, country charm, and additionally it hosts a beautiful yoga studio on site, a beautiful solar heat Mineral Pool which is just perfect for retreats and holiday accommodation alike.

Located only a hour from the heart of Melbourne, and 30 minutes from Avalon Airport, the Summer House has 4 bedrooms and caters for 8 guests and is the newest luxury accommodation on the Surfcoast.

The minute we walked through the door we felt so relaxed and at home , the finishes and just everything was just perfect for our weekend away with 4 couples it was spacious and the pool came in very handy on the hot Saturday to lounge around and in . Magical Week of Bliss

An amazing week away celebrating my 50th Birthday and Xmas 2021. I have travelled extensively and this holiday week away was a stand out. Deb has created a slice of heaven on earth. The energy as you enter the property is special, the garden buzzing with butterflies and the light filled house very inviting. The pool area is perfect, it manages to capture the sun and shut out all wind. Highly recommend this stay and huge gratitude to Deb for creating this haven for many to share.

The Summer House was a real stunner

We were very happy with the property and service from the owner. Great place for young children. The backyard and pool area was safe and easy to access. The only point we would make is that the solar heating of the pool required a heater pump as it was quite cold during our stay and the pool water wasn't warm enough for some adults. Other than that small suggestion it was very enjoyable stay

Beach Getaway

Overall a good stay. A couple of little hitches including loose floorboards, problems with the dishwasher, kettle and toaster but otherwise very enjoyable. A pool heater would make a huge difference as the pool was too cold to use unless you have extremely sunny weather. Could be a little cleaner also and the kitchen needs to be more organised.

I purchased this original homestead at the end of 2016, the property was quiet run down but had a beautiful energy. So after a year of painstaking renovations we finally opening in October of 2017. The beautiful verandahs with ocean views and original white washed dado walls and ceilings where bought back to life with fresh paintwork and beautiful decors.

Why they chose this property

This Property is one of the original sheep stations of the 1900's and sits on the hills overlooking the ocean, it is the second oldest home in the Jan Juc area and we are now the proud owners of a little surf coast history.

What makes this property unique

The unique benefits or the homestead, is it original character with modern conveniences, and of course its one of kind beautiful yoga workshop studio on site, offering our guests and Retreat groups the opportunity to engage in some meditation and yoga onsite.
