It's time to “shore up” your vacation plans with a shore thing! Pinkie Flamingo knows a winner when she sees one. As a curator of vacation rentals all along Florida's Gulf Coast, it was her sworn duty to visit each and every one and deem it guest-worthy. Pinkie Flamingo could hardly contain her excitement as she pulled into the iconic Gulf Dunes on Okaloosa Island. The natural beauty of this very special slice of seaside nirvana has collective appeal to those fortunate enough to have discovered it charm. With no structure over 6 stories, “The Island” sports less crowded beaches due to the lower density resorts.

Gulf Dunes has just recently been refreshed and renewed in cool summer colors. As an all-Gulf-front complex, it has served as a favorite vacation destination for many over the years and one of Pinkie's most popular guest nests. With 2 pools, grills, an elevator and plenty of parking, it's no wonder! Close to shopping at The Pier and several local dining spots, the location could not be better. Many restaurants serving fresh Florida seafood are easily walkable from this resort.

“I love a beach house with a promising name!” said Pinkie. “How can you go wrong with Shore Thing?” With the option of either an elevator or stairs to get to the 4th floor, access is easy and convenient. The new owners have been very busy with many wonderful updates to this centrally located 3-bedroom condo. The fresh color palette of soothing aqua mixes playfully with earthy beiges and whites and creates a fresh, beachy vibe that says “Your vacation has just begun!” Coastal solid surface flooring runs throughout the unit and tastefully appointed décor sets the mood for the perfect stay.

Beach service is included…2 chairs and an umbrella set up daily for you March to October. Additional set-ups may be added directly from the vendor on the beach.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. We had 2 families with a total of 7 people and there was plenty of room. Nice location and very clean. The balcony was perfect for sunrises and sunsets. About the only thing I would change would be the supplies offered. Be sure to bring your own beach towels and purchase essentials if you are staying over 4 days. There were also only 2 kitchen towels. Other than that the kitchen had everything needed. We were able to get a later checkout, which was very helpful for our later flight. I would stay here again! Thank you

Condo was very nice and clean! Only main issue we had was there were some stains including blood stains on the bed sheets and comforter in 1 of the rooms. We were offered for them to be washed but refused as that would not have got the stains out. We just ended up using one of the blankets they had and it worked fine. One of the bedrooms close to the front door stays hot but it also was 100 degree heat index while we were there. They did have a box fan in that room to use though. Some of the lightbulbs were out when we arrived but I sent a text to Pinkie and it was immediately taken care of. Other than that the condo was great! It has most kitchen gadgets and pans you would need to cook. The master bedroom shower is huge! Being able to walk out on the balcony to beachfront views in the morning was amazing! All in all I would stay here again in the future but may bring an extra comforter with me just in case! Don’t skip out on this rental it truly was a great one!

Communication about booking, payments and check in was fantastic! Location is ideal! We come to Okaloosa Island every two years and always seek out a condo in Gulf Dunes, the location is something we are sold on! The stock of supplies in the kitchen were some of the best we have ever had when renting condos! Upon arrival we realized the washer had wet, old sheets in it as did the dryer. I reached out to management and was informed that a part had previously been ordered for the dryer. I asked if it would be repaired during out stay and they responded with "today", No one came and no further communication. The next day I asked about it again, with no response. A few hours later I asked again and got a response that it had been repaired. We were not at the condo and I checked upon getting back and it had been. It was difficult to get information and responses, in the end it was working, but still had wet old items in it. Communication once in the condo was much more difficult. The AC worked great through out most of the condo, the front room with a king did not have adequate air flow and was hot! There was a box fan in the condo and we were able to use that to make it tolerable but it was not comfortable. The cleanliness was questionable. The floors made our feet dark the first night and we were unable to see out the glass doors to the beach. I bought windex and cleaned them to be able to enjoy the view that we paid for.

Highly recommend!We absolutely loved our stay here! The condo is beautiful and spacious with gorgeous views of the beach. Everything inside was comfortable and perfect for our trip.The location is fantastic—just a short, easy walk to the beach. Having the beach service included was an added benefit! The kitchen was had absolutely everything you could think of to make cooking easy (except the groceries, of course!). We also had a blast playing on the pickleball court!Another huge plus was the dedicated garage parking space, which was so nice for keeping the car out of the heat and keeping us dry during storms.The host was quick to respond to all of our questions and clearly puts a lot of care into the space. We had an amazing vacation, will definitely be recommending this place to others, and hope to return soon!*(Tip for future guests: Don’t forget to print your parking pass before you arrive!)*
