Our house has two bedrooms. Both bedrooms have king size beds. It will accommodate 4 people. The large bathroom has two sinks and both a shower and a bath tub. The house is furnished with antiques and fine art.
It has views of the large meadow that the house is situated in and of the redwood forest behind the house. The meadow and the forest attract numerous animals and birds. You will see deer, quail, wild turkeys, rabbits, and the occasional fox. The birds love to come and circle in the air over the meadow. Ravens, blue jays, hawks, quail, and various small birds abound. The setting is quiet and calming.
Our house has two floors with the two bedrooms on the first floor and the living area upstairs. This provides a wonderful view reminiscent of a tree house. There are two televisions and wireless internet. There is a full size washer and dryer.
The kitchen has a gas range, dishwasher, refrigerator with ice maker and ample storage. It is equipped with dishes, cooking utensils, towels, etc. You do not need to bring anything with you other than your clothes and food.
There is a sunny deck outside and a hot tub adjacent to the deck. One of the private Sea Ranch trails is across the street and easily accessible for your hikes. This area of Sea Ranch abuts to a forested area that is undeveloped. The hillsides above are covered with trees and vegetation.
The large, heated Olympic swimming pool is .7 miles away and you can walk or drive. The dog park is 1/2 mile with a nice trail that you can walk on to get to it. The golf course is 1/4 mile to the clubhouse.
We are located very close to Gualala, a 5 minute drive away. You have easy access to the shopping, restaurants and sights of Gualala.
The coast is a short drive or about a 15 minute walk. There are numerous coves, beaches and tide pools to explore. We keep a trails map in the house so you can find your way around.
You will find our house to be a cozy comfortable place for your coastal stay.

After spending the day hiking with friends up and down the coast, this was a wonderful, quiet and comfortable place to relax in the evening. Lots of space, well-stocked kitchen, comfortable bed, full size washer/dryer, and nice hot shower. It took a moment to adjust to the kitchen/living area being upstairs, as I'd never seen a layout like that before. Very quiet location, with easy access to Highway 1.
We enjoyed a 5-week stay in this 2-bedroom, 2-bath, 2-story home. The house was "homey" and had what we needed in the kitchen (appliances, items for BBQ, dishes, pots and pans), living room (books, games, TV setup) and overall (vacuum, washer/dryer, two decks, hot tub). The owner was very helpful before our stay and during. Thanks, Rich!
The 3 of us (Wife,Husband and Small Dog) spent 5 weeks at this property in June and early July.We were very pleased with the property. All the basic supplies were available and when we arrived the property was in spotless condition. The beds were comfortable and the water was hot.The property is a very short distance to the bluff trail and also accesses some beautiful walks in the interior of Sea Ranch through the Redwoods.Of significant interest to us ,as longer term guests, was the very reasonable rate charged given the quality of the property when compared to other properties at Sea Ranch that have significant, and to my mind unreasonable, fees attached to the rental. Excellent value for money!!.As in many properties at Sea Ranch there are stairs involved to access the upper living/kitchen area so if you have mobility issues you might prefer a single level house. The owners are great and very easy to deal with. We highly recommend this property and hope to stay there again in the future.
My daughter, her partner, and I enjoyed our 5-day stay in Rich and Wanda's home. Located in a quiet area of Sea Ranch, near lovely trees and paths, their house is furnished comfortably with everything one needs for a cozy stay. We slept well in the big beds under warm duvet-covered comforters and pillows. Their kitchen has all the gear you might need to prepare an 8-course dinner to an afternoon snack, including things like a French press to brew coffee; a citrus press, and even a potato masher. There's a washer dryer with laundry soap provided, which came in handy after we came home a bit soaked from the rain. The hot tub was a special treat. Wanda and Rich have books, a mystery puzzle and games if you don't bring your own. They provide a landline which we didn't have to use, but it would be handy in an emergency if our cell phones didn't work. When it rained, I enjoyed looking out the windows and sketching while my daughter and her partner read or worked. Between the rains, we took walks on the trails, along the beach cliffs, and for my birthday my "kids" treated me to a visit at the B Bryan Ranch, a must see if you are interested in wildlife and wildlife conservation. Rich was great at communicating with us before and during our stay. We're happy to recommend them as hosts and their home as a comfortable place to stay. Thank you Rich and Wanda!

Hi Barbara
Thank you for your nice comments. I am glad that you enjoyed your visit.

Great location for travelers with a dog - the dog park is an easy walk and we spent lots of time there. Cozy, quiet, and well-appointed rental. Close to Gualala and very responsive owner. We will be back!
We stayed for 6 nights in June 2022 and it was wonderful. We loved the design of the house with the bedrooms on the lower level, where it is cooler, and the open plan living area upstairs. The beds were comfortable. We had everything we needed to cook and play games and relax. We were blessed with sunny weather, which is never a guarantee on the coast. The house gets great sun and light. We loved sitting on the little back deck in the sun. There are beautiful hiking trails all around the property. This house is not on the ocean side & it does not have an ocean view, but you can walk to the end of the street to see an ocean view , and we decided we prefer this side for the privacy and forest trails. We drove to the ocean everyday & were there in a few minutes. We saw the baby seal pups at Tide Pool Beach and tried a different "cove" or beach area each day. My 11 year old son loved climbing the rocks and looking for urchins in the tide pools. We had a few questions for the hosts and they returned our call quickly and were friendly--Thank you Rich & Wanda! We rent a house at Sea Ranch each summer and this house is one we hope to return to again. It was a such a great week for our family. We read in the sunny living room, walked & hiked, saw rabbits, wild turkeys, deer, groundhogs, & seals. We sat in the hot tub, played games, & all cooked together. It is such a relaxing place. Thank you so much!
We enjoyed our stay from Wednesday through Sunday over the Thanksgiving holiday. The home is located on the meadow side of Sea Ranch and is in a fairly secluded cul de sac where deer, wild turkeys and rabbits abound. It was very quiet and we enjoyed the wildlife and the quiet (great for sleeping). The bedrooms and living area were very comfortable/cozy. The only recommendation we have is that the owners should put together a little book on how things work in the house (we had trouble with the t.v., had no instructions on how to use the wood-burning stove, and the shower in the only full bath was extremely difficult to use) The keys were mailed to us along with the parking pass but nothing else was really provided. Many of the Sea Ranch houses we've stayed at have a book of this type. Alternatively the owners could send a separate communication with instructions in this regard. Bedrooms are on the ground level and living space is up stairs. Because we had a small dog and an older parent it is unlikely that we would rent this property again.
Property is perfect! This was our 2nd stay, and certainly not the last! We planning on staying here many more times in the future. Hosts were perfect, and we had no trouble at all in the house! Great kitchens, beds, hot tub, everything! Nice and private! Can not WAIT to return!!!
We had a lovely time at Rich and Wanda’s house. It was very comfortable and had everything we needed without being the least bit fussy. The hot tub was clean and dreamy in the Sea Ranch fog. Our dog loved sitting into the window seat and watching wild hare, deer and people walk by. It’s a great value for a trip up to gorgeous trails and beaches. Plus, can’t beat the 4 minutes drive to two Gualala supermarkets!
Easy rental process. This was the ONLY house available and we were not able to stay as long as hoped. Three nights available. House is very well equipped.
We haven't always enjoyed the houses on the hillside because they tend to be dark, but this house has a lot of light and a delightful deck. We appreciated the comfy chairs for reading (and reading lamps) and bench seats to watch the deer. The right size for three adults.
This was the perfect house for a month on the coast. Clean, well equipped, plenty of room and quick access to walking trails and the dog park. The owners are lovely people and quick to respond. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely book it again!
Rich and Wanda's place in Sea Ranch was a perfect spot for a nice stay in Sea Ranch. While we tend to rent houses on the West of Hwy 1, this house on the East side was still close to all the Sea Ranch trails. There are two tunnels under Hwy 1 for the golf course that made it easy to get to the bluff trail.
Rich and Wanda's house was thoughtfully equipped with all the essentials to make our stay easy! They were communicative throughout the entire process.
I would highly recommend this place for a group of 2-4 folks looking for a calm serene house in Sea Ranch.
My partner, our dog and I stayed in the Antler house for over a month. We were very happy staying there. The beds and furniture were comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. The communication with the owner was excellent. The house is on the east side of the road but still only a short walk to the ocean.
The Antler house was very comfortable and relaxed and had everything we needed. We enjoyed watching the deer and turkeys from the window seats. And took advantage of the walking paths and being close to town, and Gualala State Beach. Rich and Wanda were responsive and made everything easy. Thank you!
The Antler house was perfect for our small family including a toddler and small dog. Immaculately clean with plenty of indoor activities (dominoes, Chinese checkers) and all of the necessary kitchen accessories. The beds were extremely comfortable too! Great communication with Rich, even though we wind up meeting for the packet and keys instead of it being mailed. We would definitely stay at this property again!
Our stay at the Antler House in The Sea Ranch was ideal in many ways. The house was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for our stay, including all the essential kitchen tools and even basic pantry items. The owners had a nice collection of books, games and most importantly, brochures/maps to local state parks and attractions which helped us decide where to visit during our stay (loved Point Arena area!) and trail maps of The Sea Ranch which helped us navigate while we cycled through the area. The house was conveniently located close to Gualala for easy grocery shopping, making it easy to either cook in or eat out. I especially appreciated the availability to gourmet groceries at Surf Market in town. Another local foodie highlight was Two Fish Bakery in Stewart Point (delish sconces & calzones!). We enjoyed being in the woods, where we saw lots of wildlife like deer, wild turkeys and CA quails, yet close to the ocean. We would definitely stay here again, and look forward to visiting The Sea Ranch again for its rugged beauty, wild animal viewing and outdoor activity.

About the host
Hosted by Rich or Wanda Holmer
Wanda and I live in Sonoma County and use our Sea Ranch house as our retreat. We enjoy our walks and our time spent here.
Why they chose this property
Sea Ranch is a very special place where the residents actively protect the unique attributes of the coast. The homes are designed to blend into the nature and scenery of the area. There are no street lights to spoil the night time skies.
It is a great place to escape the dense population and traffic of the bay area.
What makes this property unique
We chose our lot to build our house on because of its quiet location away from the frequent visitors along the coast. It is in a cul de sac with only four other houses in the vicinity.
