Great stay at Kaanapali Alii

The size of our accommodation was perfect for 2 couples and an infant. Having a kitchen was a plus for us. We loved the children’s pools, the shallow water was perfect for our almost 1 yr old granddaughter to crawl around and splash in. The grounds are immaculate and staff were very friendly. We would definitely stay again!

The condo has beautiful views from dining area and balcony, a good layout, a sink in laundry room, plenty of closet space and a little closet with 'extras'. There are grills near the pool with an herb garden that are maintained by staff and a utility closet with some condiments and utensils. Free coffee at the cabana at the pool in the mornings. Great location near the Black Rock that is great for snorkeling. Great sidewalk to walk on up and down the beach, not completely continuous. I would stay there again.

Aside from a few hiccups (toilet issues and a broken iron) this unit was as advertised. The view was amazing....and as a lead up to our wedding? Perfect.

My favorite property

Kaanapali Ali’i is my favorite place to stay on Maui. This was a special trip for my dad and me in memory of my mom’s passing. The condo was great. Amazing view especially perfect for sunset watching, I can only imagine during whale season. While the layout was odd if I was buying it was great for vacation. The 2nd bedroom does open onto the living room. We had a problem with the Tv and the property manager responded immediately. The property itself is beautiful. Very quiet and well kept. The staff is so friendly. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a Maui getaway. I’ll definitely be renting from Maui Resort Rentals again!!

This unit is absolutely perfect!! I have stayed in other resorts paying 6x with half the convenience & comfort. The location is ideal clean beautiful beaches, snorkeling with turtles steps away from your bed, shopping, restaurants, whales watching every morning or simply relaxing on the property or the lani. The option to grill out, play games and watch a Maui sunset. The unit itself was beautiful clean comfortable and very well equipped. The beds, pillows, linens etc. wonderful I will absolutely book this unit again!!

Excellent location but condo getting worn down

Love the Kaanapali Ali’i. We stayed in this unit a year ago and when we came back this year we were surprised at the wear and tear on the unit. Just needs some attention to many little things like the washer smells of mold, door to patio is stuck shut and overall condition is showing it’s wear, which is unfortunate as the price for this unit has increased since last year at this time.

Great time at the Alii

Great central location right on Kaanapali beach. Beautiful ocean view. Clean unit but some amenities were lacking. In short or no supply were trash bags and no dishwasher soap tablets. Additionally no written instructions were found to operate the cable/TV's so it was trial by error. Small problems that we overcame ourselves, but things that should be brought to the attention of the management company.

Kaanapali Alii is a great property but this unit is tired and dated.

We love the Alii and the location of the property. This unit is located conveniently on the third floor and the view is wonderful. Thw layout works well for a family of four if you don’t mind having your kids share the king bed in the den. The unit itself is dated and tired. Had to fix the bathroom sink and the toilet handle in the master bath. Two shelves on the doors in the fridge are broken. A couple cabinet doors are bent and need adjusting. The deck landing was a little smaller than I thought it would be. The positives were that the carpet was new and the beds were super comfortable. You can’t beat the convenient location the view and the layout for a family of four. This unit just needs a refresh for the amount of money you’re spending.

Amazing views and great vacation spot

The condo was amazing and you could not ask for a better location to look out upon the beach and tropical property. The condo itself needs to have it's AC vents and grills deep cleaned as there was mold and other lint all over the grills in each bedroom and bathrooms. Sliders to the patio need tracks cleaned and oiled, as they were difficult to open. And the guest sliding doors never locked. The cabinets in the kitchen need some love as doors dont stay shut. Bed linens were dirty upon arrival but we made a call to quickly have them replaced which they did. They were fast to fix wifi too! All appliances and furniture was well kept and working. It was alittle dated and could use fresh paint, Linens, towels and soaps were minimal even though you stated the # of people in the party. We will be back but hope to see the changes for the next family that stays in this picture-perfect location.

Book Direct with the Developemnt - Not thru Management Co

This is my third stay at this resort. Very disappointed in this unit. First and foremost, if you have an issue at 9 pm at night, you will not get a response. The front desk cannot help you because this is a private unit. Because we had a fourth person who needed the pullout bed, we discovered there were sheets but no blanket! The management company did not solve the issue until the next day. In addition, the sleeper mattress is so thin, the coils are easily felt even without lying on it. A simple foam overlay would have solved the problem. The other nights were spent sleeping in the couch itself. Do not call yourself luxury with one-ply toilet paper and coffee filters that do not fit a coffee machine that also has a lid that doesn't fit properly on pot. Also, you'll never get hot water in the master shower from the overhead shower faucet. The condo is given three stars because it is average, not luxury. Views are beautiful and all else is good. The condo was very clean. Just make sure you don't book through this listing - call and book direct with Kaanapali Ali so you truly get luxury and someone who answers the phone when you need something after hours.

It is disheartening that this review was written on day 2 of your 7 day vacation before we received any feedback regarding these frustrations. Mahalo for galvanizing us to improve our efforts and provide an outstanding experience to our guests. We are instituting a "10 minute guarantee" response time to our guests at the Ali'i for any service issues that arise. If we don't respond in this timeframe a free night is on us. The blanket, which was located in the closet, could have easily been conveyed had we had responded to your concern in a more timely manner. Furthermore it should have been more clearly identified in our en-residence literature. The convertible mattress, which we replaced the morning following your request with a new memory foam mattress, will no doubt be a welcomed upgrade. Though we have never had any feedback within our portfolio of 60 luxury properties regarding the two ply paper products we are taking to heart this feedback. Thank you again for your commentary and again my apologies for not living up to your expectation. Given the opportunity we will prove your comments were not for naught.
