Other things to note:
Wildlife & Mountain Living
Our cabin is surrounded by nature, so you may encounter birds, butterflies, squirrels, deer, insects, or even the occasional bear. We provide regular pest control, but wildlife encounters are part of mountain life. Encounters are possible and are at your own risk; we are not liable for wildlife activity during your stay.
Bear Safety & Best Practices:
• No food left outside-avoid leaving trash, birdseed, or compost outdoors
• Bear-proof trash enclosure-please place garbage inside & close securely
• Lock your car doors-bears can and will try to enter unlocked vehicles
• Clean the grill after use-prevents smells that attract wildlife
Please read the House Rules before Booking to make sure this is the cabin for you.

About the host
Hosted by Michael Roan
Hello! I’m Michael and am a native North Georgia resident. I was born and raised in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains. As a busy family, we cherish the time we get to spend outdoors, travel to new parts of the world, and find a reprieve from the hustle and chaos of everyday life. We hope our space allows you to create long-lasting memories, relax, and find ways to bring joy and peace to recharge your soul.
Why they chose this property
The Laurel Mountain community is perfectly situated between Blue Ridge, Ellijay, and quick access to Dawsonville. The Benton MacKaye Trail (BMT) is steps away from our property, making our cabin ideal to be your home base for a day of hiking adventures.
What makes this property unique
The Skydeck is a unique feature not found in the area. Unobstructed star views and a clear west-facing direction offer a perfect place to watch sunset and enjoy the rising stars. The property also maintains a well-kept wood burning fireplace and outdoor smokeless firepit, offering guests more ways to unwind and enjoy the mountain lifestyle.
