This was our first venture of spending more than a week in the desert, and we were happy to be so close to everything downtown and to have found this house. The house suited our needs perfectly and, frankly, this review would have been 5 stars had it not been such a pain to have the few small things repaired that needed repair upon our arrival. The owner and "property manager" were rather unpleasant about plumbing and bathroom repairs that should have been done prior to a 2 month rental. The person in charge of opening the house for us was too unfamiliar with things to do the job well. Had he checked everything out prior to our arrival, most of the issues could have been resolved (showers not functioning for example; TV remotes not working). While not terribly major things, they are annoyances to a new renter. If these reviews are designed to "share experience and help the Manager" as per the VRBO website, then our suggestion is to make sure your house is in pristine shape before renters arrive. Were we the first renters? Our only other "concern" about the house is the burned out church across the street, as it's an eyesore now, but a potential building site soon. We liked the house enough to rent it again, but the owner raised the price $2,000 per month for the same period! On the positive side, the house is well appointed with a working gas grill and good kitchen, excepting the microwave that should have been replaced. Once repaired, we found the bathrooms spacious and well-functioning. There was more than ample closet space and the two living rooms allowed for multiple uses. The patio private spa was really nice to have so we didn't have to walk to the communal one a bit of a distance. Mostly we liked being a short walk to so many restaurants. St. Baristo is a wonderful small community occupying a full city block in Palm Springs. All in all we had an excellent two months and appreciated having found this property for our stay. Perhaps because we expect some perfection in the houses we rent, we've identified the issues for this owner and future renters will undoubtedly benefit. If you've done your homework and feel this price is right for the property, I wouldn't hesitate renting it.
