About this property
Black Eagle Lookout | Ski-in/out + Hot Tub
Stay right at the base of Big Sky Resort. Black Eagle Lookout sits at the foot of the Bear Back Poma, so once the Poma is running for the season, your ski day starts the moment you step out of the garage. Ride the Poma up, cruise a groomed run down to Ramcharger and Swift Current, and you're on the lifts in minutes. No shuttles, no parking lots, no lugging gear across the village. When the last run is done, ski back toward the townhome, kick off your boots on the garage boot dryers, and be in the hot tub before the lifts close.
Off the slopes, you're just as close. The Mountain Village base area is an easy walk away, with restaurants, shops, and après spots right there, so the car can stay in the garage all week. In summer, that same location puts you minutes from trailheads, mountain biking, and village events, with Yellowstone an easy day trip away.
Back at the house, this three-level, four-bedroom townhome is made for gathering. Floor-to-ceiling windows and vaulted beams fill the open living room with light and views of Lone Peak, and the stone wood-burning fireplace, stocked with firewood, is the natural place to warm up after a day on the mountain. The kitchen has stainless appliances, a gas cooktop and wall oven, granite counters, and a Keurig alongside the regular coffee maker. Gather at the dining table for eight or the breakfast bar for four, or step out to the deck to grill with mountain views.
When it's time to soak, head down to the lower patio, where a private hot tub for five to six is waiting, with hot tub towels provided.
The main level holds the primary suite, with a King bed and a private bath with a walk-in shower, plus a half bath for guests. Upstairs, the Queen bedroom and the bedroom with two Twin beds each have a private toilet and sink and share a full bath with a walk-in shower. The upper level also has a loft with a Full sofa sleeper, which works as a quiet reading nook during the day. On the lower level, the bunk room has a Twin over Full bunk and its own full bath with a shower and tub.
Snow removal is handled for you, and check-in is remote. Summers in Big Sky are cool, and the home has fans and no air conditioning, so opening the windows at night keeps it comfortable.
Black Eagle Lookout is part of our Platinum Collection.

SKI ACCESS Black Eagle Lookout sits at the foot of the Bear Back Poma, giving you easy ski access for every ability level. The Poma typically opens in early December, depending on snow conditions; until it opens, the base area is an easy walk up the road.
Ski Out: Step out of the garage and head left to the Bear Back Poma. From the top, a groomed access run takes you down to Ramcharger and Swift Current at the base area.
Ski In: Intermediate and expert skiers can take Silverknife to the Bear Back Poma, then follow the Poma down. Just before the bottom, look for the skier tracks cutting left toward the townhomes; they lead right to the garage. Beginners can ski to the Summit Hotel and follow the road back to the home.
Note: During spring melt, you may need to walk a short stretch of road to and from the Poma.

BEST SERVICE, CLEAN, BEUTIFUL SURROUNDINGS
Our family and friends had the best time. The placed was super clean and in the perfect location for skiing, sitting around the fire watching football and gazing up at the mountains.
Really appreciated the crib and high chair!!!
This property was fantastic. The location couldn't be better. The amenities were perfect (you can tell a lot about a VRBO based on quality of towels, bedding, and pots and pans and all were first class). The property manager was very responsive and communicated proactively. You're going to love this place. We did.

Big Sky Condo
Great place, close to the base of the mountain. We had a party of 8 and Big Sky did everything to accommodate us. The only complaint was the heat was not functioning properly but then again the temperature was -20 degrees. Otherwise, excellent place and we highly recommend it.

Lisa,
Thank you for staying with us! Sorry you hit a cold snap in Big Sky. It WAS unusually cold...hopefully the space heater helped keep you toasty on the lower level of the unit where the problem occured. We made a simple adjustment to the boiler and everything seems fine so again my apologies that we didn't know this was a problem until towards the end of your stay. Your comfort is important to us! We very much appreciate your business and hope to see you again in Big Sky!
Best,
Kirsten (Owner, Big Sky Vacation Rentals)

This is an amazing house in a great location! We were 2 families staying here for thanksgiving and the start of the ski season. The house was the perfect size, the furniture was well appointed, and we were walking distance to the slopes. Highly recommend!

The place had everything we needed. Management fixed a broken dishwasher within hours. We walked 5 min to lifts. Big Sky apres ski was weaker than I thought. Only one night could we find live music.

Great Location, Plenty of ammenities, Perfect Group Rental
We had 6 people who stayed at Black Eagle 16 (Feb 5 - 9) and we all had a great time. It was an easy walk up the road to get to the slopes, bars, and restaurants. There's also a smaller lift just down the road for easy access. The rental had everything we could want including TVs, satellite to watch various sports games and apps to connect Plex/Netflix, extra towels and blankets, and a hot tub (great for helping any soreness after riding for 6 hours). The beds and couches were comfortable, plenty of utensils in the kitchen for cooking breakfast, and the washer/dryer came with supplies to wash any clothes or towels for a second use. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a short walk and great stay.

Summer vacation
Very nice place. It was perfect for two families of four each. We liked the real wood burning fireplace. Heads up tho, it does not have air conditioning which is normally not an issue with Big Sky weather but it was 80 degrees for us. With all the windows open, it was tolerable. If you are doing Yellowstone the west entrance is 45 minutes away. However, the prices were much more reasonable than West Yellowstone. Get your food and supplies in Bozeman when you fly in. Big Sky grocery stores are pricy. $6-10 for a case of waters. This is a place to get away from everything. It is not like Park City Utah where there are so many more services The trails are great. However, the downhill mountain biking is marginal. The trails are really rocky. The town center is 7 miles away. The fly fishing is phenomenal. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

B-day celebration
Myself plus six friends stayed in this property for one week, celebrating my 60th birthday. It was very clean, comfortable, and inviting. I would highly recommend this place, especially if, like us, you were also visiting Yellowstone Park. The staff in rental agency was very quick and responsive to all our needs and questions. This rental is highly recommended.
One draw back: there was no air conditioning and Montana was having a record Summer, so a few nights were uncomfortable, but it quickly cooled down again.

Loved it - beautiful views from every window, close to village, skiing and snow mobiling park.
The lodge was perfect for my husband and I, and our three sons and their families. Plenty of room and everyone had their own bedroom and bathroom with shower. The kitchen and living room was plenty big enough for our group of nine to gather, play games, watch football playoffs, eat ........ The house had big windows and fantastic views from every one. It was well stocked with everything we needed or wanted. We would definitely stay there again.
