Host was very communicative and the house was very clean when we arrived! We were able to walk to Coligny beach and shopping area & loved the proximity to the grocery store. The screened in porch was very nice!

World-class golf and tennis, biking, beach, biking ON the beach, Spanish moss, awesome natural beauty -- these are the things that struck us when we first visited Hilton Head Island several decades ago.
Spending most of our summers at the Jersey shore, we're no strangers to the captivating beauty and rejuvenating lifestyle of East Coast beach towns, but Hilton Head Island takes it to another level. We found this beautiful, relaxing home that may one day become our retirement home! Meanwhile, we decided to host others here, as well. We hope you find some magic in it, as we do.
Why they chose this property
Hilton Head Island is a special place, and Sea Pines is special within it. Our home is in the Club Course section, close to the main gate, so it's convenient to grocery stores and restaurants, yet not far from the horse stables and nature preserve. The beach is bikeable.
Golf is a prominent theme, and the immediate neighborhood consists largely of single-family homes built on the Sea Pines CC course. Sea Pines is home to 4 world-class golf courses. Three of them are open to the public, including the renowned Harbour Town Golf Links, home to the PGA's Heritage Classic. More reasonably-priced golf can be found just outside the Sea Pines gate at Shipyard. And there are a number of other public courses of varying levels on the island.
Sea Pines' mixture of oak, pine, and palm trees creates a gorgeous and varied canopy. Bike paths are plentiful, as are bike rental companies that will deliver bicycles right to the house. The bicycle culture of Sea Pines is part of its appeal.
The Sea Pines Beach Club is a hub for beach-goers and you will surely find a rack to lock up a bike and enjoy a day on the beach. If you haven't been there, the Beach Club offers restrooms and stations to spray off, as well as a beachside bar and an upscale restaurant. Hilton Head's beach is pretty flat and firm, so it's possible to ride a bike on the beach for miles. The beach is about a 10-15 minute bike ride from the house. Quicker by car, but beach parking is in demand, so Sea Pines also provides trolleys that can get you there. Another benefit of the location is that it's also close to Coligny Plaza with ample beach parking, as well.
Of course tennis, pickleball, surf fishing, boating, and many other activities keep visitors from ever getting bored. It's hard not to be active here.
Restaurant options are another feature of the home's location, with Sea Pines favorites like Quarterdeck offering gorgeous sunset views, and late-night options like Big Bamboo also easily accessible.
What makes this property unique
The home sits across a lagoon from the 2nd hole of Sea Pines Country Club. It's the setting that captured our hearts. The golf course is in view from nearly any part of the house, with walls of windows offering a view of the beautifully tended fairway. The screened-in porch offers a lovely spot to take in the action of both the lagoon and the golf course.
Beware that the lagoon is home to alligators! But these awesome creatures seem to co-exist with birds and turtles and humans as long as everyone is minding their own business and respecting each other's space. We've educated ourselves on the characteristics of alligators and have deep respect for them, and guests should do the same.
The home has 3 bedrooms on the main level and an upstairs suite that offers great privacy if you're a person who needs to break away from the action to do some remote work, or just to disengage.
The main-level lagoon bedroom has a desk built into the closet, so this room is also good for the guest who needs to mix work with vacation time. Take a break and step out onto the deck or catch a glimpse of the lagoon life from here, as well.
There are 4 TVs, all connected to digital streaming service. The kitchen is compact but updated, and is well-equipped for preparing meals at home or for enjoying cocktails with friends.
Charmed by the setting, we bought the home on Halloween of 2025. Admittedly, we already have a healthy lineup of projects and improvements on deck, including a pool in 2026. Our goal is to make it a relaxing retreat with the comforts of home and then some. We hope you'll enjoy it and come back again and again as it evolves into a favorite place.
