Access to this home is excellent. The owner allowed us to park in the garage. There is also ample parking in the driveway. The owner/host was very accessable and responsive to any issue that came up. We had a major snow storm while we were there and the snow removal service was excellent.
The house was spacious and fully stocked. The location was perfect and centralized. The host was extremely responsive, pleasant and accommodating. We look forward to staying here again.
We had a wonderful stay. The house was big, spacious and beautiful. We loved the patio, the pool table and all other amenities. Plenty of parking space for multiple cars, comfortable beds and the host was very friendly, responsive and accommodating of our requests.

Close to Tahoe donner ski and boreal. We loved the place for our family and friends ski outing. Our kiddos especially enjoyed the pool table in the cabin.
We loved our stay in Truckee. Jim even got us a Christmas tree and his daughter, Becky, was super fast responding to our messages.

We had such an amazing time at this cabin. fully stocked with everything you needed. any questions you had he responded very quick. Hope to be able to book the same place for next year.
James' cabin is very spacious, with lots of natural light, and convenient amenities. It felt like home away from home. My friends and I had a great time there during a ski trip. We'd definitely consider coming back!
Ample room for 3 families to stay, kitchen is well stocked and owners are responsive and helpful. Access to the 3 car garage was essential, especially with the storm. Driveway snow removal was also key. We really enjoyed our stay.
Beautiful 3 story home allowed space for everyone to stretch out and relax - all ages. Kitchen gadgets and tools were all kind were available to prepare most anything. Rustic decor was pleasant and comforting. A great place to come back to! Ample supplies were so helpful as well.

Thank you Jackie for the great review and we’re happy that you and your family had an enjoyable vacation

This house was perfect for our group. It had plenty of space to accommodate everyone with enough extra room so you didn’t feel crowded. We really enjoyed having the pool table downstairs. We all enjoyed it and it was a place that the teenagers could have to themselves. Good location. Everything you could possibly in terms of kitchen gadgets, pots and pans is there, although it could be organized better and some of the pots need replacing. It was a very comfortable home for us.
My family (two kids ages 9 and 11) spent six nights at this house with my sister's family (one kid age 7), and we had a wonderful time! We loved the location on the golf course for getting out on snow shoes and cross country skis; it made it easy for us to enjoy the snow even during a storm when we couldn't drive anywhere. We also very much appreciated that the road and driveway aren't very steep, which makes access a lot easier during the winter. Communication with the host was very clear and friendly, thank you!

Great multi family spot!
We comfortably fit 13 people into this house. This included 4 teens. While the kids enjoyed the game area( pool table, television), the adults enjoyed the larger living space and rear deck that overlooked the golf course. Quiet streets. Peaceful nights. BBQ dinners on the deck soooo relaxing. Will rent and refer!

Great place to stay with easy access to skiing, activities for kids and large windows w/ views
There were 15 of us who stayed at this cabin this past weekend and it worked out really well. We had 6 teenage kids who enjoyed hanging out downstairs playing pool and the many games available. The main level has a well-stocked kitchen and practically floor to ceiling windows looking out into lovely views of trees and the surrounding area. Squaw and Alpine are easily accessible.
The owner is extremely responsive and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others.

Good stay!
My family enjoyed our stay here. The oldest is 76 and youngest is 18 months so it’s hard to find a good fit for all of us—this cabin gave us that. Only cons is the WiFi was very weak and we couldn’t access Netflix, HBO Max, etc. only basic cable. The place also could use some updating and be a bit cleaner.

Hi Katie,
Sorry it has taken me so long respond to your review.
It would be helpful if you would identify the things
around the cabin that needed updating. The wifi is a
problem according to the local tech gurus can't be
fixed. There are to many cabins using the same "node"
at busy times. Also, if you noticed something not clean
I would like to bring it to the attention of our cleaning
company, Alpenglow. They have performed well for us
over the last eight years.
Thanks in advance for your helpfulness,
Jim

Great place to stay with a great kitchen and lots of room
We stayed up there for a long weekend (4 nights) with multiple family members. The kitchen has tons of pots/pans/dishes/cookie sheets, etc. It was super easy to create large meals to share with everyone. There were plenty of bedrooms and lots of space to spread out. We all had a great time. The owner was geat to communicate with, checking in with me when we got there to make sure everything was all right. It was much nicer than a different house that we stayed at last year in the same area. I would recommend this place to anyone who is interested and hope to stay there again next year.

Hi Casey,
Just wanted to thank you for the very complimentary

This property had everything we needed for a family reunion. Kids loved the pool table and the little ones loved going up and down the stairs. There’s a lot of space in the backyard to go sledding without having to find a park! Otherwise, we had a great time, everything we needed in the kitchen, and a great check in and check out. Internet can be a little slow in the area but we had no issues switching to cellular when it was slow. Groceries store near by so no need to carry all the food to the property unless Truckee is completely snowed out. Overall would stay here again!

More importantly we are happy you had a great stay
Our family have never had a bad one..
40 years moving forward
great house- warm, lots of room. The only complaints were no pillowcases on " office bed" - one set found in another room. Several dishes, skillets, pots, pans were dirty with food particles . Garbage disposer had 2 bottle caps in it- noticed food particles in sink drainer on arrival. Was able to clear- Great Place!!!

Hello Starlita,
I am surprized at the condition of the cabin upon your arrival.
We have had the same cleaning company (Alpenglow) for years and
have never had a problem. I will forward your note to them as I am sure
they would like to hear about it.
Sorry for any inconvience!
Jim
We just left this morning and we had a wonderful stay at Jim's cabin. The house is very spacious and we had plenty of room for three families, with kids ages 3 to 11. The house is laid out in a way that we put each family on their own floor with their own bathroom. The bedrooms are all tucked away so that there is peace and quiet if you need it. And lots of communal space for eating, playing games and watching movies. There was a large porch and backyard, covered in snow that was perfect for a snowball fight and building snowmen. It was a quick 9 minute drive to the downhill ski resort. The kitchen was well stocked. (Coffee maker might need replacing, but that is literally the only thing that was off). Jim himself was very responsive, kind and accommodating. We had an amazing time and would love to come back again!

About the host
Hosted by Jim Kroske
The Kroske's hail from Gilroy and have been homeowners since building our first golf course cabin in 1979 for our young family and friends to enjoy. With a growing extended family and loving everything about our choice to have a vacation home in Tahoe Donner we new we needed to find a larger cabin within Tahoe Donner. Enter the treasure of a find on the 13th green on Swiss Lane. Large enough to accommodate friends and family, complete with grandchildren, with room to dine and play, spread out, and relax with beds for everyone. This spacious cabin is guaranteed to provide endless enjoyment. A true mountain get-away for everyone of all ages.
Why they chose this property
From a very young age, I have always had a great love for mountain activities. From fishing in the streams and lakes, water skiing in the chilled lakes of the sierra in the summer months, to downhill skiing during the winter months. For several years we rented cabins for our young family in the South Lake Tahoe and Truckee area. When it came time to consider a location to build a cabin of our own, we had looked at many areas around the Lake Tahoe region before settling on Tahoe Donner Resort. One of the reasons why we made our decision is the convenience of being located off of Interstate 80, the major artery to the east, maintained 365 days a year by an army of snow removal equipment. Another enticing factor is the lack of congestion due to the fact that casinos and big city night life are not located around the corner, but still located within a 45 minute drive to the 'Biggest Little City in the Word' Reno, NV. And the man said 'location, location, location!' Tahoe Donner is the hub of winter activities with plenty of winter ski resorts in close proximity all ranging approximately 15 miles away (24 minutes): Northstar (south on Hwy 267) , Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley (south on Hwy 89), or Sugar Bowl (west on I-80). Tahoe Donner also includes many adventurous summer activities such as fishing, golf (minutes away), biking, hiking, floating, etc. We built the first cabin, a 3 bed, 2 bath A-frame on Tahoe Donner's 15th fairway in 1980 during TD's early development. Enjoying many years of winter and summertime weekends and vacations. We packed that cabin full of friends and kids till it was ready to burst. So in 2001, we began looking around TD for a larger house and found this big house on Swiss Ln on the 13th green. We fell in love with it at first site and soon it became home away from home.
