About this property
Holiday flat Am Buchenhain in Koserow
ED Refnr. 2765756
The holiday flat (1st floor) is part of a small residential complex with 39 flats, spread over three houses on the eastern outskirts of Koserow on the edge of the coastal forest and the Streckelsberg Nature Park. At around 60 metres, the Streckelsberg is the highest point on the island of Usedom. You can reach the viewpoint in a few minutes' walk through the coastal forest (mainly beech trees, hence the name of the residence "Am Buchenhain"). From there you have a fantastic view of the Baltic Sea and the island of Wollin (Poland), whose sandy coastline shines white in the sunshine. The flat is quietly located at the end of a private road and is therefore free from traffic noise and through traffic. Within a maximum radius of 1000 m you will find a department store, a food supermarket, a drinks shop, a pharmacy, a wide range of retail outlets, restaurants and cafés - in short, everything you need for a successful holiday, whether you want to cater for yourself or prefer to be served.
It is a three-room flat with two separate bedrooms, a living/dining area, a fully equipped fitted kitchen, a bathroom and a balcony. The flat offers plenty of space for 4 people; the children in particular will appreciate having their own room. In the living/dining area you will find a cosy seating area with sofa and two single armchairs and a dining area. For your entertainment and information there is a flat screen TV (cable TV) and a stereo system. We have also provided a small library and some board games (also for children). You have free Internet access throughout the flat via your own WLAN. The kitchen, which is open to the living area, has a cooker and oven, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine, toaster, kettle, extensive range of crockery, glasses and pots and pans, everything you are used to at home and everything you need to make your holiday as pleasant as possible. From the living area you step out onto a south-west facing balcony, which we have furnished with a table and four chairs with cushions. The larger bedroom is furnished with a double bed with adjustable slatted frames and a large wardrobe, while the slightly smaller bedroom has been deliberately furnished with a bunk bed so that there is enough space for a table with two chairs where children can sit down to play and retreat to "their" realm. There is also a small compact stereo system with CD and cassette. In the bathroom you will find a WC and a bathtub with shower enclosure. There is a lockable bicycle cellar in the house for the bicycles you have brought with you, so that you can keep your bikes safe and dry overnight. There are several bike racks in front of the house where you can lock your bikes.
The flat has its own parking space in the car park of the residential complex. The garden area (meadow) is free for communal use.
When approaching the flat, you will come to a speed limit of 10 km/h approx. 100 metres before your destination on Siemensstrasse. You should pay attention to this, as it warns you of a deep cross gutter (drainage of rainwater) and there is a risk of collision.
You can reach the wide, fine sandy beach below the Streckelsberg after a 400 metre walk through the coastal forest via a steel grid staircase, which was put into operation in 2019 and replaces the former "natural staircase" built into the cliffs with different step heights. This makes the path to the beach shorter and easier for children and older people. Koserow is located in the centre of the elongated island of Usedom at its narrowest point. In a few minutes you are at the Baltic Sea as well as at the so-called Achterwasser (between the island and the Peenestrom / mainland). Koserow is an excellent starting point for exploring the island in all directions, by bike along the coastal cycle path eastwards to Swinemünde or north-westwards to Peenemünde or inland towards Achterwasser, Lieper Winkel and Gnitz or with the Usedomer Bäderbahn to all central locations on the island (Koserow railway station is about 900 metres from the flat). For hikers, there are many hiking trails through charming and varied landscapes. As an alternative to nature, a visit to the Historical-Technical Museum, the Phänomenta and the museum submarine in Peenemünde, the butterfly farm in Karlshagen, the "border market" in Swinemünde ("Polish market") or Karl's adventure village in Koserow are certainly worthwhile in bad weather, to name just a few of the many things on offer.
