About the host
Hosted by Rex and Michelle
Cabin building runs deep in my family. My grandfather built a cabin on a gold mine in Montana for a close Navy friend and was paid in gold- a story that inspired generations. Years later, I worked alongside my five brothers to build our family cabin in Utah, designed by our father. The Foxhole cabin represents my own contribution to that legacy.
Built from raw land, every detail of this home was thoughtfully constructed and furnished to stand a lasting legacy - one meant to be shared, enjoyed, and remembered by those who stay here.

Why they chose this property
The Shenandoah valley and the Shenandoah river are iconic in their beauty. The Shenandoah river is so close, as is the Appalachian trial, wineries, breweries, and so many other amazing attractions.,
What makes this property unique
This one-of-a-kind cabin is crafted from hand-hewn logs, shaped with an axe and sourced from Western Virginia, giving the home an authentic and timeless character. The entire cabin was thoughtfully designed and built and furnished by the owners, Rex and Michelle, who personally completed every aspect of construction - including foundation, framing, electrical, plumbing, countertops, and custom furniture.
Exceptional attention to detail is evident throughout the home. Select trim work and furnishings were created from logs harvested directly from the surrounding woods, seamlessly connecting the cabin to it's natural setting. This cabin is the result of a two-year labor of love, designed to offer guests a truly distinctive, comfortable, and memorable stay.
