The Library is very comfortable and within walking distance of all the Mark Twain attractions, shopping and restaurants.Sally is a perfect host. She proves for all your needs.I can’t wait to go back to Hannibal just to stay at the library again!

We had a great stay here. It was much larger than expected with a sitting room, bedroom, bath, kitchen and laundry area. In the heart of all in town and yet very safe.

Planned a quick stop at Hannibal, a charming town with lots of Mark Twain related sights to visit. The apartment is equally charming and comfortable. Very clean and nicely decorated. Highly recommended

Super cute place with great space and a well-stocked kitchen and bathroom. I only stayed one night and didn't have time to explore, but the town looked fun with neat shops and everything you'd expect in a small heritage town. I would definitely stay here again.

This was an awesome place to stay! Kathy was the hostess with the mostest — there was nothing she didn’t think of from toiletries to snacks to towels. Plenty of dishes or glassware at your fingertips. I definitely want to come back for a longer stay.

I felt like I was sleeping with my old "friends" (writers of books I have read and loved). Close to the river, and Mark Twains home. A sweet park is only a block away.

Sally was very communicative, warm & friendly. From the moment we introduced ourselves she was very approachable. My girlfriend & I brought one of our dogs with us. Sally was very sweet & friendly with our dog. The apartment we stayed in is called “the Library” & the decor very much gave off that vibe. It was comfortable, clean & pet friendly. Its location was perfect for the festival we were attending & made it easy to come/go when we wanted out of the heat. We had to cut our stay short a day due to the effects of the heat advisory & while we were making trips to the car accidentally locked ourselves out of the apartment. Both my girlfriend & were embarrassed but I called Sally, who was understandable & compassionate, helped by having a co-worker come with a spare key to open the door. After the this weekend my girlfriend & I want to make staying at “the Library” our usual place to stay when we come to Hannibal for Big River Steampunk Festival.

What a hidden gem! I was expecting a basic efficiency, but there was so much more. Little treats for breakfast, plenty of snacks for the evening, more rooms than I expected, the kitchen was well stocked if you wanted to cook a meal in, towel warmer, washer/dryer, etc. Walking distance to shops and restaurants if you wanted to explore. The hostess anticipated whatever your needs might be. Would definitely recommend the Library.

We went for a weekend to check out Hannibal. The property is walkable to just about everything! We really enjoyed all of the food options close by. Vino was our favorite—especially if you need somewhere to eat after 8pm. The host had so much available to us, and even left some snacks and a couple of water bottles. My husband and I are both grad students, so we needed the WiFi for a bit while we were there to do homework, and it worked really well. The library felt very clean and comfortable. Perfect for the two of us. We will definitely be back.

Property was in perfect location for our stay. The stairs were steep, so lugging our bags was cumbersome, but that is no reflection of the host. We had inquired about an early check in, but received no response from the host on that. The little extra touches in the kitchen (snacks and breakfast items) and the restroom area (all sorts of extra travel size toiletries if we had forgotten anything) were a really nice touch. The unit was cute and very functional. Renovating that space into a short term rental was a very creative idea! We enjoyed being in walking distance to all that historic downtown offered. We would not hesitate to book this property again, if we are back in the area.

Sally is a wonderful, welcoming host who has thought of & provided everything you might need during your stay. There was oj, water, and croissants waiting for us in the fridge. If you have the time to read on your trip, this is the place for you. It's like staying in your own private library.

We loved our stay at The Library! The apartment was clean and well-decorated. There were lots of great touches, such as mirror placement, treats for breakfast, well-stocked with things you might need but may have forgotten, and the shower was amazing. Communication was great, and the location can’t be beat! It was a great place to stay, and definitely more interesting than a hotel, and very reasonably priced.

A Book lovers dream!! The books alone could keep me entertained for days! It smells like books! Host is extremely considerate! Place is right in the center of downtown things to do. You can walk everywhere! River 2 blocks away. My personal only complaint was the bed. Tons of soft pillows. Bed is not soft. Im very picky about that though. Wonderful place. Sincerely hope to stay again.

I love the vibrancy and friendliness of historic downtown Hannibal. You'll love visiting here. There is a wide variety of shops and things to do. The riverfront is beautiful and there are plenty of trails. There is even live theater and a movie theater within walking distance.

What makes this property unique

This property used to be a law library and is filled with bookcases. We've replaced the law books with our book collection - which we are adding to all the time. The Library is roomy, with a desk to work from, and free wifi.
